Well...

We corrected the CT for a good reason, that I mentioned above.  Though it is statistically identical to the conventional arrangement, putting all the engine slots in one area and all the gyro slots in another makes it look like you have a more fragile machine.  We changed it because I believe JPArbiter had a point (though he expressed it poorly) that resonates with other players.

The head crits don't do that - in fact, anyone who thinks about it for a few seconds knows the chances of getting a hit anywhere there on a 1d6 is the same as with the conventional placement.  It is not now and never has been a bone of  contention.  We left that alone.

I wrote the only infantry platoon editor in existence about 2 years ago.

The last version was at http://www.cooltexan.com/BTE_v1_0_2_0.zip I think if anybody wants to take a looksie.

You can use cybernetics and build an infantry platoon that can trash a 3025 Atlas, in the open, at over range 9.  I think I had platoons over 2000 BV IIRC.

There was a thread on the CGL forums I though, but maybe it was pre-crash.

Infantry, even in the 31st century they are still "Queen of the Battlefield".

FYI, Artillery is King.  Mechs perhaps a bishop or rook :)

I downloaded the program.

Artillery is King?  I'll buy that.  I will never use it in a game of BT again.  Properly used, it just dominates the game - you might as well put random erupting volcanoes as one of the terrain conditions.

As for Queen.... we'll see.  I don't see them played enough to have an opinion one way or another.  But - if they were that effective, I'm thinking I would see them more often, even given their status as an 'unknown quantity'.

The MUL team also has one they put together, but that isn't for public (or even my) consumption.

Got it!  I find the HMI program easy to use, but am not sure it conforms to the TW ruleset.

Not sure that was a lie, Ken.  We don't know when the programs were published for sure and there's a big difference between a spreadsheet and a program like HMI.  I have not seen Bad Syntax's program. 

As I am just getting into infantry proper, I am unable to comment directly, but I would not call what he said a lie - an overstatement, sure.  Outspoken?  Ill-informed? If that is, indeed the case, it still doesn't justify calling the man a liar.

Well, I don't count excel, they are just spreadsheets.  I have an excel spreadsheet that builds just about everything, and have some pretty darned complex ones, but they are just that, spreadsheets, and not very versatile.

Since you know of all the other platoon editors out there, hows about sharing a reference for one of these editors that can create a TW/TO platoon?  I'd love to see some others.

Sure, there's a mention of the MUL's one here. You could also check out HMI, though that doesn't meet your new goalposts.

Uhhhh, so you call me a liar on how all these other ones exist, and the only thing you can point to is an excel spreadsheet (which is NOT correct, and has lots of issues, and doesn't include cool stuff like cybernetics or the ability to print or save/load platoons) and apparently a talk of an MUL one but since if it does actually exist (unlikely it'd be more than another excel file) it isn't available anyway.

If you had written "I wrote the only infantry platoon editor in existence that is up to date, not an excel spreadsheet and available for download for those I tell about it about 2 years ago." I would agree with that.
