What is wrong with a culture similar to the American Midwest, where you can litterally find ANYTHING if you look (like the United Hindu Collective worlds still retaining thier cultural pre-suns heritage)
Because it's not unique. As far as I'm concerned,
none of the Great Houses should have a culture that outright parrots an existing one, American or otherwise.
Heck the Draconis march has a strong Mexican Flavor to it,
Can't be that strong, because I've completely missed it. My impression has always been that it's ever-so slightly Jewish, but almost noticeably so, mostly defaulting to Midwestern American, like the rest of the Federated Suns.
meanwhile the the Cappelan March is this oddball mixture of French Canadian/American spliced with a few Eastern European roots.
The Capellan March's primary culture seems to be reformed Capellan, actually, which makes it the most interesting of the Federated Suns Marches, but still ultimately doesn't do much for the Federated Suns as a whole.
FM3085 is hinting at the local flavor of the new Periphery march, making it more akin to the American Southwest and Central America.
Man, I hope they go deeper and find something unique there. Now
that would be cool.
the Federated Suns, much like the Free Worlds League has no NATIONAL flavor, but plenty of REGIONAL flavor.
The FWL has "plenty" of regional flavor. The Federated Suns just varies what sauce comes standard on your Arby's sandwich from March to March.
