Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.

It's probably sad that the biggest thing I take away from that is his whole "Saying rules are arbitrary is kind of stupid." Never quite got the LAM craze. I prefer less wacky anime influence in BT, though.

I found them fun for fluff reasons years ago but never got any real enjoyment from using them in-game.  These days I am tired of the issue and don't really care one way or the other anymore, much like with the "unseen" and weapon ranges debates.

LAMS are cool. I enjoy the Stephen Huda artwork in tech readout 3085 and the fluff is fun.

Sadly I agree.

LAMS are cool.

Too much manga in your youth?  :P

Shhh you. RoboTech is sacrosanct around here. Like the favored son, it can do no wrong.

Funny thing is I hate LAMs with a passion, I even sacrificed a game years ago trying to kill the single LAM my opponent was using while he mulched my company.

On the flipside I love to create stuff specifically BattleTech stuff so although I will be using LAMs in my own timeline (as they are part of BattleTech) in the future and likely I will build new models and use the old ones - which is the reason I liked Herb's clarifications - I don't think I'll ever use one and always enjoy to destroy them.  ;D

Maybe for some of us. For me, it does plenty wrong.  :P

Was anybody not being so? Then again, I'd say if you had any in your youth, you probably had too much. ;)

Meh.  All I ever wanted was the movement profile.  I think I solved it in the permanent airmechs of my AU - the tradeoffs are pretty severe.

Funny! I giggled a little at this.

Honestly, when it comes to Manga, I can take it or leave it. Some of it is fantastic, and then some of it is so whacked-out-left-field-acid-trip that I can't wrap my brain around it, let alone watch it.

Sorry, that's just how I roll.
