Hi i've been thinking how many LAM production sites would there have been at the end of the star league?

I'm thinking there must have been more than the ones inside the republic and the Stinger-LAM factory on Irece due to the amount of LAM's in service.

No problem Six, we already have a few factories scattered around. Two Terran and one Drac in 2785. There were likely more before but if you have evidence please present it.

That's the problem there's nothing in cannon other than the stinger-lam in the combine and the phoenix hawk-lam on terran world captured by the FWL in SW1.

LAM technology was pretty advanced if I recall. Likely many of their factories were destroyed in the Amaris Coup.

It was but i feel that there must have been at least 1 factory in each of the major relms due to the amount of LAM's that are still around in the 3020's-30's.

For example 2/3rds of the Marik Guard in 3025 are LAM's. Source original Marik Housebook & 4th Successon War Atlas.

I suppose it is possible. Give me your best guess based on information on hand.

Ok

Davion - I feel they should have a Wasp-LAM factory as that is there most common design according to TRO3025, probably in the Capellan March near the Terran border, given the amount in service i would say it was destroyed in the 2nd SW. Or have it on Kathil & destroyed in SW1 then have the AFFS capture the Liao line which can be destroyed in SW2.

Kurita - Cannon has a factory on Irece.

Steiner - They have the lowest amount of LAM's, I'd say it should be a Stinger-LAM factory destroyed early in SW1, a good place for the factory would be Loxley as the Norse Battlemech factory there is destroyed by the DCMS in 2786 which also removes Steiner's Nightstar & Thunder Hawk production lines.

Marik - The Phoenix Hawk-LAM is the most common one in service according to TRO3025, in cannon the factory was on a captured Terran world, i'd move production to Karachi as we know there is a Brigadier Corp factory there but not what it built and it is destroyed in the opening moves of SW3.

Liao - Again like Davion they use the Wasp-LAM i would put there factory on Lee as there was according to TRO3025 a large quantity of spare parts there that Liao tried to capture. Have Davion capture the world with the factory intact which replaces their destroyed factory then have CCAF forces destroy it at the end of SW2 or start of SW3 when they try to get it back.

If I remember well, most LAM factories were destroyed in the initial fightings and some Successor States found huge stockpiles of LAM parts (hence their use of those specialised designs).

In Turn they tested each Clan namesake in trial against the Ice Hellion's mettle. Each chased the Ice Hellion, hunting it down. All failed to match the predator's speed and grace. Khan Cage smiled and said, "And that is how we shall be."
