Right i've added another techreadouts worth of equipment to the list, but i've got a couple of questions, one about possible construction sites for the Nightstar & Thunder Hawk added above.

The other is what (in this universe) are we doing about designs that were in the final stages of R & D when the succession war broke out? Design's like the Falcon Hawk, Dragon Fire, War Dog & Devastator.

The Republic Mighthave them but remeber the Marauder series (Nightstar,Dragon Fire, and that undergunned 5/8mp thingie) were never produced.  Granted I'm retconning my self but there are simply too many 'Mech designs out there.

I agree with what you're saying BTA but TRO:3058U does say the Nightstar was in producton at 2 factories in the inner sphere untill both were destroyed in 2786.

Looking at the known mech/fighter/vehicle factories accross the great houses, either there are a lot more factories that we don't know about or they were still able to get equipment from the terran hegemony during the ameris coup. Its the only way i can see that they would be able to build up there armies and keep them supplyed.

More factories is the most logical option.

You seem awfully short on conventional armor.

Didn't most divisions have an integral armored component as well?

Not that I found. I left out combat engineers but that is about it.

So looking at the figures and using the 2 to 1 force ratio it means that the FWLM had approximatly 140 mech regiments before the coup.

The LCAF 135, DCMS 200, AFFS 145 and CCAF 107.

Did we plan that much?

And what about other more conventional forces?

Actually they did - from SLSB p. 138 each mech division had an armored Brigade of 2 tracked regiments and 1 hover armor regiment.

from p.134 "Most tank regiments were assigned to  Divisions as anti-mech regiments or given garrison duty"

So an SLDF mech division was really 5 Brigades plue -
1 Mechanized Infantry Brigade
2 Battlemech Brigades
1 Armor Brigade
1 Artillery Brigade
1 Aerospace Wing
1 Headquarters
1 Cavalry Battalion
1 Engineering Battalion (this is the |-|-| symbol on the SLDF TO&E SLSB p. 138)
1 Signal Battalion
1 Support Battalion

Notably missing are any air defense units (but based on the markings 1 of the armor regiments may be air defense and not hover), MPs and Electronic Warfare units.

Would the other divisions have similar numbers of armored support?

I'd assume so- the main difference in the Divisions was the number of Infantry and Battlemech Brigades and the composition of the Infantry Brigade.  That said, you could argue that an Infantry Division did not have an Armored Brigade as they are described as not being dependent on Vehicles.  You could also make the argument that in a Jump Infantry Division, the armored unit was replaced by the second Aero Wing.

Hmm I factored in the second aerowing but the armored brigade was not accounted for in BattleMech Divisions. Shouldn't be a complex fix.

Takiro is right: no Armoured Brigade ever made it in the SLDF.

And Irose is right too: Light Infantry Divisions and Jump Infantry ones had no vehicles.

Could you give me a quote there Ice. I seem to remember something along those lines as well. Perhaps we have another canon contradiction.
