I am currently working on the Quicksilver and have a rules question for our designers. Can a MASC be pod-mounted on OmniMechs?

Page 53 of the Tech Manual states:

The type, weight and placement of critical slots for MASC and Triple-Strength Myomer must be established when designing an OmniMech’s base configuration, and may not be altered in that OmniMech’s completed primary or alternate configurations. Unlike jump jets, neither MASC nor Triple-Strength Myomer may be “pod-mounted,” so an OmniMech may not feature MASC or TSM capabilities on an alternate configuration unless the base configuration is so equipped.

Thanks drak and happy birthday!

Still working on the Quicksilver and the Ice Hellions here. Could I get your opinion of a new Hellion tactic I thought of for the fluff? I call it TAG, your it! Basically a spotter serving on board would TAG an opponent then evade (not otherwise engaging with the spotter's weaponry). A single off board artillery unit would attempt to destroy said opponent before the spotter was destroyed. Does this hash with Zellbrigen? If the spotter fires on the opponent or another then the rules of combat have been violated. Likewise if another opponent fires on the spotter then the trail goes Grand Melee with other artillery getting brought to bear.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Isn't that what he Falcons did when they killed Ulric? It would fit in with the Hellions style of Team Zellbrigen but I think it would be on the edge of it.

I believe Vandervahn Chistu used massed fire (multiple sources) from guided long range missiles on single opponents. That would still be a clear violation of Clan law but this Ice Hellion artillery duel would use artillery fire from one source against one opponent. All you have to do is take out the spotter.
