The Turkina had been a staple assault Mech of Clan Jade Falcon since it first stopped onto the battlefields in 3058. But after the loss of contact with the Homeworlds and the Falcons establishing themselves in the Inner Sphere, the only factory capable of producing the Mech was Olivetti Works on Sudeten and it kept producing faithful replications of the same Mech that had been produced in the Homeworlds.
By 3110 the Turkina was deemed in need of a mild upgrade and change to fix any percived flaws and to ease production. The order was to maintain as much commonality with the original Turkina in terms of parts and equipment but to update the design for the modern battlefield.
What emerged was basically still a Turkina and almost all of the changes were cosmetic. The big Mech now featured a fully turning waist joint assembly which was of great benifit on a fluid battlefield as the pilot would no longer have to turn the whole Mech to bring its guns to bare. The design was also made sleeker and less bulbous and broad, reducing its overall profile despite being made taller thanks to the waist joint. This was achieved by installing the LRM's in the upper torso instead of housing them in the horribly complex shoulder joints of the original Turkina which were a tech's nightmare due to the complicated linkages for the missiles, their exhaust vents and having the majority of the Mech's shoulder just behind the missile launchers.
Instead of traditional box launchers though the missiles were mounted at an angle along the upper hull, reducing the profile and making use of the Mech's hull volume. Laser heatsinks were installed and the electronics fit was retrofitted with the same TTS and fire control as used in the Shrike, and this also featured the same ECM as the other Mech, protecting it from hostile sensors.
VariantsPrime - A near mirror of the classic Turkina, the main change was with the removal of the heavy and inefficient paired LB-5X autocannons and their replacement with a HAG-20 and 2 tons of ammo. The LRM-15's were also fitted with Artemis-V to improve accuracy and another ton of ammo was added giving each LRM two tons of ammo each. Pilots appreciated the HAG's heavier punch although the 2 tons of ammo was seen as inadequate by some. Eighteen laser heatsinks mean the Turkina II Prime is less heat efficient than the original version but pilots have been quick to adjust to the slightly increased heat curve.

A - Unlike the original A, the Turkina II A is a general purpose combattant, able to engage targets at all ranges. It does this with its paired Gauss rifles, each drawing from a 3 ton ammo bin for increased endurance. For mid to short range engagements, paired ER Medium lasers, Medium pulse lasers and Streak SRM-6's finish the Mech's firepower, making it more dangerous as the range drops as well as a surprise to those who have faced the Turkina A before.

B There was little improving on the original Turkina B's weapon fit so save some re-shuffling of the weapons, the weapons loadout for the Turkina II B remained the same, a mixture of ER and pulse lasers, linked into a targetting computer for maximum accuracy. The hull changes also meant there was increased storage for the pilot onboard and this would allow the Mech to remain in the field longer.

C - An evolution of the City or close quarters fighting C the Turkina II C updates the Mech's weapons for increased versatility. The paired Large pulse lasers are retained, but the LB-20X autocannon is in turn replaced by an RAC-5 with 3 tons of ammunition The large number of short ranged anti-infantry weapons are also replaced with a Plasma cannon which has its own 3 ton ammo bin. For dealing with battlearmour a pair of ER Medium lasers and medium pulse lasers can engage targets. The electronics suite has also been expanded. An active probe lets the Mech hunt for hidden targets whilst a new Angel ECM shields it and its Starmates from any hostile electronics and tracking.

D - Whilst the standard D had very heavy firepower, it was near useless once it had expended its ammunition supply and with 4 ATM's at full roar, it could go through its ammo bins at a frightening rate. To combat this, the Turkina II D reduces two of the ATM-12's to ATM-6's. A pair of ER Large lasers were added for additional direct firepower and endurance and increasing the Mech's firepower at long range. Heat and ammuniton endurance remained an issue but the II D could remain in battle thanks to its lasers.
