Overivew
Taking cues from the Mercury, the Camulus (named after the Celtic god of messengers) is also the EDF’s first foray into Stealth Armor production and use.  The initial results are promising, though expense may be the thing that ultimately kills the project.

Capabilities
Built as a Counter Reconnaissance Mech, the Camulus is designed to detect, hunt down, and eliminate enemy scouting elements before they have a chance to report back.  A thick layer of stealth armor permits the sneaking, while weapons array suited to multi ranged combat allows the mech to deliver a devastating short ranged barrage and continue pursuit thanks to the 280 XL Engine.  Because the Camulus is designed for ambush, it was determined not to require jump jets.

Deployment
As the mech is so new, (the first few chassis just rolled off the lines of Mercedes Benz) it has yet to be widespread.  So far only the Second Division deploys any number of these designs; and less then a company at that.  The Elysian intelligence agency ASROC purchased a full company of the mech publicly, an unusual move for the organization.

Variants
An all energy payload with more robust reconnaissance equipment is being considered for the Camulus, and Mercedes has indicated that the design can incorporate conventional and Ferro Fibrous Armor, indicating that the end of the stealth armor project may not be an end to the Mech itself.
