Manufacturer: Achernar BattleMechs, Corean Enterprises
    Primary Factory: New Avalon
Communications System: Achernar Electronics HICS-11
Targeting and Tracking System: Corean B-Tech with Artemis IV

Overview:
The Cavalier began as yet another attempt by Achernar BattleMechs to improve
the lackluster ammunition stores of their ENF-4R Enforcer in the aftermath of
the Fourth Succession War. It was pointed out that the Corean Enterprises'
CN9-A Centurion, with its very similar right arm and torso managed to carry a
much more useful number of shells for the autocannon (although it also had a
regrettable tendency to explode when shot in the right chest).

Joint efforts by the two companies began in 3027 and progressed at a slow rate,
with the project becoming a test bed for technologies being rediscovered. The
completed Cavalier was presented to the AFFS in 3030 and orders followed almost
immediately.

Capabilities:
Like both parent designs, the Cavalier is not especially fast. Instead it
focuses upon battering opponents with firepower and taking a similar beating.
With its long range weaponry, pilots have found the Cavalier well suited to
commanding the battlefield but it suffers at close quarters where its limited
mobility leaves it unable to avoid determined heavy and assault-weight machines.

Battle History:
The Cavalier has only recently seen action, in limited clashes against the DCMS
during their succession crisis. On coming under fire from four Cavaliers, a
lance of Panthers was so astounded at the firepower that they reported they
were under fire by an entire company.

Even once they were correctly identified the Cavalier caused the Galedon
Regulars considerable difficulty. Late in the year, a company including eight
Cavaliers managed to contain and ultimately break a charge by a DCMS heavy
company. When all five of their Dragon 'Mechs were disabled, the samurai
decided to redirect their offensive back towards their own lines.

Deployment:
Because of its advanced technology, the Cavalier has thus far been seen in only
a few high profile units such as the Davion Guards.

Variants:
There are continuing attempts to fit the Cavalier with jump jets equivalent to
those of the Enforcer. Thus far the only successful solution involves halving
the size of both ammunition bins.

If it's got art, its in!  Saves me doing more art for it.

Though ATM the CVL-3R would only be a prototype, due to your current tech level.  Nice though, feel free to put it into production once the L2 comes on line.

You know there is something wrong with the FWL, when Word's spell check changes Impavido to Impetigo and Zechetinu to Secretion.

Well that justifies my fiddling away with Paint this morning, pasting an Enforcer left arm onto a Centurion.

I figure I should be able to do something like that in 3031 since I'm getting pretty close. Most likely I'll just designate that as part of the change from L1 to L2 some existing lines were refitted to build this rather than an improved model of the 'Mechs they were building before.
