300XL IS Omnimechs

much has been made about the lack of streamlining of Omnimechs for the Inner Sphere Circa 3058...  and much has also been made of the 300 VLAR engine, particularly XLed and it's raw versatility.  given that it can be installed in 7 different tonnaged machines (20, 25, 30, 50, 60, 75, and 100)  I thought to myself "ehhh why not!?  so I am providing you with 6 (because the 20 tonner though possible is impractical) Omnimechs that all use the VLAR 300XL

these are being built to 3058 Spec, so you will not see any Light PPCs or MML Launchers.  I AM making an allowance for Rocket Pods since they are all but retconned to be available at any point.

First up is the Meragal, which for those who are not Jewish is Hebrew for Spy.  This puppy is meant to be a scout and a speed is armor nightmare.  most of it's configurations support that.  if it isn't meant to avoid combat at all, it usually serves some secondary purpose like minelaying or Incindeary warfare.  for flavor I do have one direct combat model that would use a Clan ER Large Laser in the head, and one strike/Cavalry model with 8 Rocket Launcher 10 pods  a future configuration might include a Light PPC, or a Super Charger and 2 ER Mediums.

Second we have the Shual, or Fox for the non Hebrew speakers (yes this will be a thing!)  I borrowed heavily from the Wuflen for inspiration on this beast.  it is Wolfhound touch in terms of armor and 7 tons of podspace ensures it can carry a PPC, Vital if you want a fast offensivly oriented mech.  the Clan Tech Configuration improves on the Primary with a C3 Slave over ERPPC.

This next design, the Barack or Lightning, should have very familiar configurations.  Say waht you will, the Inner Sphere is king in the 50 ton weight bracket and I brough all of the designs together in this beast.  Trebuchet, Crab, Enforcer, Huron, Hunchback, and most importantly the Centurion.  you will note the C3 Slaves in this designs configurations, and if it doesn't have a slave one could be easily put in.  this will be important for it's partner design.  cause what happens when you see lightning?

the Rham (Lightning) is a much more limited platform thanks to the built in C3 Master and that I am limiting myself to 30-58 tech, it will undergo significant upgrades by time the Jihad rolls around.  I still believe thought hat were each variation deployed properly that it would be effective.

The Aryeh (lion) is a Heavy Combatant that would emphasis more Long range fighting then the Barack's up close and personal methods.  it is also designed, intentionally, to take more advantage of Future Combat Systems (heavy PPCs, Plasma Weapons, etc) then what would be available circa 3055.  one key feature when laying out the critical space is that it would favor Gauss Rifles over Autocannons, and Missile Weapons in the very cramped torso.

Thing the first - You. Magnificent. Bastard. I love the designs.

Thing the second - As Arbitration's cohost emeritus and resident Jew, amend the following: Ra'am (two syllable word) Barak and Aryeh for Lion. Lioness - Lavi. Lion Cub - Kefir. Oddly enough the name of the canned IAF indigenous Superiority fighter was Lavi. unless you weren't going for hebrew on that one. And if I recall, the original lioness we came up with used a standard 300.  I see a War Dog.

Thing the third - It's good to see a design family based on the underpinnings rather than the aesthetics.  As a fluff nut, I like to see the idiosyncrasies that are in play. The company can make VLAR 300XLs, the equivalent to the LS1 V8, (the gen 1 cast-iron small block is the standard VLAR) and it can put them in everything. No need to develop other engines, no need to sink the cost of developing endo steel, as it's spread throughout the whole line.  The fluff for these could be real fun.  Quartermaster's command: We can build this one engine and need an army. Go!

I went with Lion rather the Lioness cause in my hear there is only one Lioness, the masterful creation co made by High-Test earlier.
