Overview
With lessons learned from the Badger, it was determined that the heavy class of Omnimech would be next in line for production. While Nevermind engineers were examining using the Warhammer, a trade convoy of Clan Diamond Shark permitted the EDF to sift through computer records and purchase the plans for an obscure, long out of production heavy omnimech. Using Inner Sphere grade components, the Lioness was built in record time.
Capabilites
The Lioness has become the premier Battlemech of the EDF for a very specific reason. Its impressive durability, heavy payload, and reduced repair time for the mech enables the fairly low tech Omnimech to perform well above expectations. With 28 tons of pod space, the Lioness can replicate many of the most famous and feared heavy battlemechs in inner sphere history.
The use of the supercharger in the Lioness has proven the that EDF doctrine works well. Unlike the more common MASC technology, when a supercharger fails, the Mechwarrior can continue to fight or withdraw from the battlefield with ease, completely unburdened by damaged actuators brought about by MASC failure. The success of the Lioness has ensured MASC to be eliminated from all EDF machines as a result.
Deployment
The Lioness easily makes up three quarters of Front Line Division Heavy Mech rosters, and planetary defense forces have received a liberal sprinkling as well. This has resulted in the Archer Warhammer 7E and Black Knight disappearing from most EDF roles by 3150. Despite numerous offers from external powers, the Lioness is not sold outside the EDF, and the Rim Collection is the only other power that deploys them.

the choice of a super charger comes from a game I was playing with High Test. we had played with a Rampage for the first time ever, and on turn 1 I kicked in MASC. for the first time ever in 10 years of playing the MASC blew on the first go, and the Rampage was reduced to a sitting duck.
shortly thereafter Era Digest Golden Century came out and gave us the Woodsman (which the Lioness borrows heavily from) and I saw just how crippling the MASC could become to such a wonderfully built machine. High test and I realized a Super Charger would result in more mechs coming home. easier and cheaper to repair or replace an engine then to salvage a scrapheap cause it was made immobile. this double so since the Vlar 300 is pretty much ubiquitous.

I was always iffy about MASC. The system fits certain ‘Mechs built during certain eras and by specific factions, but overall I found TSM and the Supercharger better.

overall not a bad IS heavy
for MASC I've never been a fan, had some home rules a while ago for my group after a few miss fortunate uses.
A fail of MASC didn't destroy the legs completely just cut movement, first fail reduced walking speed by 1 and running down.
Second fail cut walking to 1 running impossible, if it was hit after a second fail then it blew the legs completely

Overview:
The Lioness was designed from the ground up to be a symbol of Elysian power,
not just externally, but internally. The Lioness proved to the rest of the
galaxy that a deep Periphery realm could technologically compete with the Inner
Sphere.
Capabilities:
The Lioness’ origins come from two sources. The first was technical specs to
the long dead Woodsman Omnimech, purchased from Clan Sea Fox. The second was
the massive amounts of salvaged Celestial Omnimechs taken by the Lioness Combat
Team and Peacemakers during Operation SCOUR.
Once the frame and armor were established, it came down to selecting what
Battlemechs the platform would emulate. Most notable is the use of a fixed
supercharger for the engine. Like the Woodsman, MASC was considered, and even
installed on the very first generation of the machines, but after an incident
where a Lioness Combat Team mechwarrior was killed due to MASC failure, the
technology was rapidly abandoned by the EDF.
Battle History:
Massive military funds have been spent to ensure the Lioness would be deployed
quickly and widely by the EDF, the Mechs they are replacing being sold to the
mercenary market, used as trainers or just being dismantled and their parts
recycled.
It was the Lioness Battlemechs of the 21st Rim Worlds ragoons Axumite worlds as
part of a diplomatic mission that ultimately led to the creation of the Elysian
Federation. It proved handy to have those mechs available when a bandit raid
using Age of War period hovercraft attempted to attack the EDF post, only to be
swatted away effortlessly.
The Bandit Caste War was the Lioness’ first true test of capability. Numerous
Clan Bandits were confused, thinking they had run into more Clan Bandits
operating Woodsmen. Entire lances of Lionesses first in the Primary
configuration managed to repel the comparatively poorly equipped Clan Bandits,
then returning to base and swapping for the C Configuration overran and
annihilated their off world transportation.
In what was then considered an act of Bluster by the EDF, the 331st painted
Clan Wolverine insignias on their mechs to stir up the raiders. While this
brought the Bandit Caste War effectively to a halt, Clans Wolf, Jade Falcon,
and Hell’s Horses have now been probing Elysium militarily and diplomatically,
possibly making matters worse for the realm.
Variants:
in a response to squeeze more tonnage out of the Lioness, Ford Motor Company of
Elysium is experimenting with making the supercharger pod mounted equipment.
Despite thismodifacation all combat packages shipped from Ford and nevermind
still include Supercharger Pods.
Notable 'Mechs & MechWarriors:
General Michele Furey
One of the Smoke Jaguars who joined forces with then Major Christopher Hallis
after the Coudoux massacre in 3058, Michele practically jumped at the chance to
become one of the Lioness’ first pilots, relegating her beloved Fenris H to
guard her small farm on Elysium.
Michele rose through the ranks of the 21st BCT, taking command after General
Katherine Ellis retired in 3085. Michele led the 21st to great victories in
Operations BROTHER’S KEEPER and THERMOPYLAE, leading from the front in her
Lioness Prime.

Yes. When it first came out in the early 90s, it was not podable.

Yes, CASE and CASE II are Pod Equipment.
as you can see the core mech and my configurations I did not change. but I have been told by people who have reviewed my EDF stuff that there is a gap in C3 Masters. I also realized I needed a dedicated flashbulb in there as well.
