What do you think of a Valkyrie armed with a Medium Laser, a Retractable Blade and a SRM-6 (all the other things are the same)?

I can see this variant as an arena fighter.

I can see this as an urban scout, where ranges are a lot shorter, and any other terrain that limits ranges.  Also, you could use it as a light unit hunter/killer. 

Did you plan on using TSM as well for the blade?

Hell, I would mix it in with other other Valkyrie's and have some fun.

I dunno, I always saw a Valkyrie with short ranged weapons as "Doing it wrong"  b ut that is a name branding issue.

the CONCEPT is interesting.  utilizing an MML would make it more interesting.

A Valkyrie with short-ranged weapons is called the Javelin ;)

I saw this 'Mech more as an arena fighter and then as an urban fighter.
For other things, it lacks in speed.

TSM? Not really as it is a 3025 design.

And escorting other Valkyries could be a good idea.

as an arena fighter it would actually be a very viable combatant, and the use of the Valkyrie frame would have a double issue as 1) being a member of the unseen it has the "Take it seriously" vibe to it (earned or not) and 2) being known as primarily a long ranged combatant, people will want to close with it despite knowing better,
