Noticed something funny
« on: December 31, 2013, 05:49:49 PM »

Hi I have noticed on some mechs and protomechs little puns by Alexander  Iglesias. On the Boggart it is "Its all going to Burn" and on the Gun Class Mech is "Naveronne". In the earlier Battletech books I noticed their was a Dune fan because battlesites or general places dealing with Clan Wolf I believe where people or places from the novels. Anyone else noticed anything???

in many of the modern TROs there have been tidbits here and there.  in 3055U on the Grand Titan was "Roll Out", on the Fireball was Zippo on the SRM, Evil Egg, and 3 Minute, Hamma Time on the Hammer,

They do have a quirky sense of humor. Oh yes it is in The Clan Wolf Sourcebook on the planet Vantaa they fought in four major battlesites. It is Odrade's Lament, Teg Acres , Spiders climb and Duncan's Rift. Also a battle was fought in the desert of Shaitan Valley.

I always liked Professor-General Sam Lewis, although I can't recall where he was from.  The accompanying art for the Clan Scientist archetype also strongly resembled Mr. Lewis.

One of things I like but have thankfully been cut down a bit at one point it was nearly every page of a book had something

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.

Yeah, toning it down was good. And less tempting for any potential lawsuits.

Just ask any bitter old grongard and they will tell you:

"If it's not had a law suit filed against it, it's not REAL BattleTech."

You know there is something wrong with the FWL, when Word's spell check changes Impavido to Impetigo and Zechetinu to Secretion.

Valid point Blacknova.  But that just leaves us with the whole Unseen thing then doesn't it?

It does indeed. Not that I care one way or another, as I prefer to send entire divisions into certain death and care not for what the peasants are piloting.

Why go straight to Terra when you can see all the sights in between?
