it's suppoused to be the ultimate hand to hand combatant in mechs.

Once you get an armour breach your dead that XXL and composite will kill you

At the very least I think I'd drop the small lasers for a ton of armour and swap the pulse for a pair of ER Mediums

I harbor no illusions about the fragility of the machine.

the weapons were crafted very carfully to make TSM easy to charge and then keep going easily, needing only a small laser here and there.

Using this design isn't that far off from using something like the Jade Hawk. Don't let the Jade Hawk fool you. It's a potent design, but it requires someone using it to balance a near perfect mix of reckless aggression and careful control. When you manage to find that mix in a fight, this design (much like the Jade Hawk) will surprise the hell out of your opponent.
