I understand JP. The 20 ton zombie is a tough challenge since you can only go in a few directions. 25 tonners will be 2 weeks off. Got one more 20 tonner to go!
Here's hopong that it is an assaillant as the Fire Moth covers the Speedster. I've  got a desing, just need to do the fluff

my heart was not really in this, but what the hell, here is the Iron Centepede.

Developed by Clan Burrock originally as a "Wasp IIC" the Omnimech Integration was a relatively simple task after the acquisition of several examples of Fenris Battlemechs from Clan Wolf as compensation for Reinforcing Wolf Holdings during the early invasion.  as I sated before I believe that Clan Burrock favors big hits on small fast platforms, so the Primary Configuration reflects that, devoting it's entire pod space to an ERPPC.  Further Configurations are made for Battle armor Countering, harassment, and two decidedly unclanlike bahviours... mine laying and artillery spotting earning them further ire of the Star Adders and Blood Spirits.

I know the fluff is thin, I came up with this mech in 5 minutes with a four alarm migrane. that is the best your probably gonna get.

Here is my submission the Sea Hound. 

The Sea Hound was developed by Clan Sea Fox to answer the Ilkhan orders and to also possibly provide a cheap omnimech to the weaker home clan's that cannot afford the more expensive omnimechs.  To keep development costs low, they used the chassis of the Commando IIC and lightened it  by five tons to meet the IlKhan's requirements.  They then used Endosteel and Ferro Fiberous armor to increase the amount of weapons it can mount.   The former warrior-turned merchants then analayzed the type of battlefields the mech could possibly be used for and designed the six models accordingly.

By basing the chassis of the Sea Hound on the Commando IIC, the scientist caste of Clan Sea Fox was able to provide one prototype of each model to the IlKhan for evaluation.  The Warrior Merchant's of Clan Sea Fox are hoping for a favorable review that might entice the other Clan's trade or trial for this new omni mech.

The base model was designed as a sniper/direct fire support with the use of the ER PPC and no ammunition dependency.

Mod A is designed to ferret out any units with the active probe and with the ER Large laser to help it handle any opponents.   It can use the TAG to highlight any units or  targets for an Arrow IV strike.

Mod B is to be used as a light mech hunter.  With the use of an ECM and it has four medium laser to attack the target with.  An anti-missle system was added to protect it from LRM fire.

Mod C pays homage to its Commando IIC roots by mounting two SRM 6 with a ton of ammo each.  And a  pair of medium lasers. 

Mod D is to provide direct or indirect fire support via its LRMs and its given two tons of ammo.mech to its lance mates.  A single ER Med laser is used to defend itself.

Mod E is to be used as a purely anti-infantry it has four weapon pods that contains a pair of Machine guns and a small ER Laser.  Each MG pod is fed with a 100 rounds of ammo.

Once again I’d like to thank everyone for participating. We had six quality entries and each one had at least a little something that I liked. To that end I am considering integrating parts of these designs into the winner. Either configurations I loved or fluff dealing with the contest or designs. Hope that is ok with everyone. Using my best judgement I ranked everyone from bottom to top looking for the best possible design IMO. So without further delay let’s get to the rankings.

6. Iron Centepede (JPArbiter)
With just a little taste of fluff this 6/9 max pod space (6.5 tons) with EndoSteel and Ferro Fibrous just couldn’t separate itself from the competition. Sorry JP. I understand your heart wasn’t in this one and to be honest this first contest was sort of limited by the size and engine requirements. Hope to see you back at 100% for the next challenge.

4. Silver Fang (Abele)
I liked how you pointed out that the Mech utilized salvaged engines from Stingers and Wasps. For some reason I always expect Cloud Cobra Mechs to jump. Maybe cause of this paratroop Clan idea but anyways you did a good job. I got you in a fourth place tie with the Sea Hound this time around.

4. Sea Hound (Shadow Wraith)
The mercantile angle of the Diamond Shark fits nicely here and the fluff is good. The Commando IIc basis is a nice touch too. Even though the Light Active Probe may or may not be a fit for 3052 my favorite configuration is E which is death by a thousand paper cuts and hell on infantry.

3. Bone Lion (drakensis)
After our first two entries I was thinking of designing a Quad Mech myself for this contest. Mine was more of a Goliath Scorpion/ Cloud Cobra collaboration but then drakensis came along with the Bone Lion. The Steel Vipers were a nice angle especially given their need to rebuild and bolster their Inner Sphere garrisons. Got to say I liked the fluff here especially the capabilities. Training or garrison Mech which uses a lot of energy weapons to maximize ammunition for other more worthy pilots. Its 5.5 tons of pod space is good but also points out the drawback of such a light Quad. A dozen less criticals for a negligible armor increase IMO. Nice job

2. Claybeg (LordGrayson)
This one captured my imagination I must admit. Love the name and the fluff was good. Very Blood Spirit and I like how it included other Clans as well from the Fire Mandrills to the Diamond Sharks. Heck even the Smoke Jaguars get a mention and they could use some replacements after Tukayyid and Luthien. I liked the replacement Sniper configuration you came up with to replace the Heavy Large Laser which is unavailable at this time. However, the Claybeg came up short of the top spot. I would like to add mention of it as the chief competitor to the eventual winner and another chapter in the Blood Spirit-Burrock feud.

1. Nightcrawler (masterarminas)
Speed is armor for a light Mech and for only a ton more this new Omni goes 7/11. Fluff is excellent, like the part about the rapid introduction, and Ulric’s shot at the Crusaders. So congrats MA, you win this one! I was thinking of using a configuration or two from other entries on the Nightcrawler (Bone Lion Gamma for a full LRM configuration and Sea Hound E for example) and adding additional fluff for other Clans (Ice Hellion and Jade Falcon) as well as the Claybeg v Nightcrawler competition which adds to the Blood Feud with Burrock.
