An anglicanized form of a mythological figure would be considered standard english.  I cite Kintaro, Kyudo, and Shogun being Japanese,  Wyvern is Welsh, Vulcan and Helepolis are Greek, Thug is Indian (Urdu specifically), Guillotine, lancelot and Galahad are French, Dervish and Assassin are Arabic.

huh... I looked up names of mythical horses and wikipedia said Chinese.

Still my point stands.  Mythical cretures and characters whose names are anglicanized ARE Standard English according to any academic on the planet.

Besides, there are only so many cobinations of Hawk, Wolf, Falcon, Blood, Black, and Shadow you can come up with.  and the name is certainly more creative then some I could mention.

And you are correct sir. I was just stating my preference not that it was illegal. Thought somebody would do a Quad called the Nightmare (mythical Hell Horse from D7D) or the Black Charger (appropriate as an old SL Terran unit and the Charger = War Horse). Then there are different kinds of war horses and horses of famous Generals and on that theme you could probably look for a famous Quad Mech name if one existed or create one as such.

You said this.  I am saying that by your own definitions you are incorrect and either showing a lack of knowledge of the definitions of your criteria, or admitting to an internal prejudice and Double Standard.

I found this criticisim to be at best intellectually dishonest, and at worst outright offensive, and I will not participate under those circumstances.

I am sorry you feel that way. These contests are truly diminished when designers like yourself, masterarminas, shadow wraith, smegish, fitzgerald, lordgrayson, and countless others do not participate. The shallower the talent pool the less ideas filter around and the end results are not as good as they could have been. That being said I would like to thank drakensis and abele for participating in every (or almost every) Quicksilver contest. Their constant input has been a great boon to this endeavor and I appreciate that very much.

In my second to last post I stated you were correct Chollima was an eligible name however I went on to suggest other possibilities. What I held back was Chollima felt more to me as a more appropriate vehicle name. Yeah it is not a God of War but such a mythical creature could qualify. This could be an addition to your of why the Mech was named Chollima. Perhaps the Horses are floating a uniform designation for quads as mythical beasts. 

My comments I feel have been misconstrued. Offensive?  ???

Ok gang, back to the contest. I am going to permit secondary entries for this our final competition. After some introspection I have decided to change things up from here on out. If you have something in the can ready to go do not worry. Hold on to it. Wait and see. Hopefully you will be pleased.

Overview:
Clan Burrock have been working on the design that would become the Avenger for
several decades - an unusually long design cycle resulting from losing their
original work in a Trial of Possession to Clan Ghost Bear - their designwork
would eventually form the basis of the Executioner.

Stymied by a lack of resources, the Burrocks had never been able to put the
Avenger into production, although this let the design undergo a long series of
tweaks and adjustments. The Quicksilver Program looked like the ideal solution
- until the quick approval of the Nightcrawler, Gremlin and Iron Spider made it
clear the Burrocks would be fully engaged in building those designs and
wouldn't have the capacity to add an assault 'Mech to their production lines.

Enter the Cloud Cobras - the Burrock's long-time ally had had only a single
'Mech design in production and desperately wanted to one-up their rivals the
Snow Ravens who were in a similar position. For this purpose they agreed to
transfer all their enclaves on the Tanite world of Stacha to Clan Burrock in
return for the prototypes, all design data and a supply of components until
they support a production line internally.


Capabilities:
The Avenger's structure is one of the few EndoSteel frames for Assault 'Mechs
in use by the Clans, something that took several years to develop, fortunately
making it ready by 3052. The Cloud Cobras, familiar with lighter endo-steel
structures don't expect to have difficulty building these in quantity. The
engines - PItban 285 fusion reactors from cached Puma tanks - are also readily
available.

The configurations of the Avenger have obvious parallels to another Clan
OmniMech: all are slightly modified from configurations seen on the Smoke
Jaguar's famous Dire Wolf, allowing for the slightly reduced pod-space. They
hope this will allow Mechwarriors to adjust to the Avenger easily if they have
prior experience with the Dire Wolf. Some testing has suggested this is
actually a dis-advantage: the Avenger often has slightly fewer heatsinks in
order to make up for the lack of pod-space and Mechwarriors familiar with the
Dire Wolf can make critical mid-judgements in their heat management as a result.
