Though the fluff has been written and the contest is still active, I'm posting this just to show those how limiting Quads are as assaults. Clan Quads have the ability to shine at the lower weight classes (<60 tons). Not so much as they get heavier when they have to sacrifice speed for for crit space and firepower.

Overview:
Following their unsuccessful bid with the Thunder Cat, Clan Hell's Horses once
more attempted to design a quad Omnimech worthy of IlKhan Kerensky's
Quicksilver program. Now they were in the 80 ton class, which was close enough
to the wieght of their stalwart Thunder Stallion, that it would be very simple
for the Hell's Horse scientists to adapt that chassis to a slightly smaller
form. As with the Thunder Cat, this new Omnimech would have the look of a large
feline predator, this timeit would be the prehistoric sabretoot tiger that
would lend its visage to the new Sabretooth. To stay within the Clan's mobile
doctrine for its frontline forcesm the Sabretooth would use the 320 XL
powerplant found in the 40-ton Viper omnimech as its motive choice. This would
allow the Sabretooth to reach a top speed of 65kph, which would be the bear
mimimum top speed accetable Khan Fletcher.
In order to mount the maximum amount of weapons possible, given the speed of
the design, advanced materials such as ando-steel structure or the use of
ferro-fibrous armor would be left on the design table to free up as much
interior space as possible. This left the design team with thirty-six tons of
available pod space, which would not go to waste on this chassis.
Configurations
The Prime configuration features a gauss rifle matched with a pair of large
pulse lasers as the main battery. The gauss rifle is fed by an enormous
four-ton ammunition bin. To discourage attacks by both battle armor and
anti-mech infantry, a quartet each of anti-oersonnel pods and ER small alsers
are mounted on all four legs of the Prime. An ER medium laser is mounted below
the cockpit. Thee heat sinks are added to deal with heat generated by the
lasers.
Alternate Configuration A is a variation of the Prime which replaces the gauss
rifle with a Class 20 LB-X autocannon with the same four-ton ammunition bay.
Twinned ER PPCs replace the large pulse lasers. The ER medium laser remains
while a rear mounted small pulse laser replace the Prime's ER small lasers and
the A-Pods. A total six heat sinks have been added to deal with the heat
buildup.
Alternate Configuration B is the long-rang fire support variant of the
Sabretooth and features a pair each of ER large lasers and Artemis IV-equipped
twenty-tube LRM launchers. The LRM launchers draw on a total of sixtons of
ammunition to keep them in the fight. Three medium pulse lasers are mounted
fore and aft to provide additional close-range fire support. Four double heat
sinks are added to help ease the heat burden.
Alternate Configuration C was a last minute decision and gave the Sabretooth
added manueverablility via the application of jump jets to each of the four
legs. A rarity among the designs preferred by the Clan, all of the weapons
mounted on this version of Sabretooth are energy-based. A brace each of ER
Large lasers and large pulse laser with the pulsers mounted in the side torsos
while the ERs take up the centerline of the chassis. Four small pulse laser
share the legs with the jump jets and are mounted fore and aft for maximum
coverage of the battlefield. A total of eight sinks have been added to deal
with the hear burden, but are of little help should the pilot, unwisely, decide
to alpha strike.
