Hi guys,

I was reading Takiron's post "Clairon's call" with the Huscarls and I tought about what these soldiers would look like if they were a 'Mech, which lead me to the Sasquatch (yes I know, no link apart from the big shield) and to this variant.

I don't have any fluff yet and I don't know if I will make anything of it, so you can fire at will.

Curious Ice how you came up with this Mecha image for the Huscarls. Love to hear your reasons behind this Bigfoot's appearance as a Huscarl. I know it is a Solaris machine but I don't see it.

The five Mechs I envisioned the Steiner Huscarls fielding are the Commando, the Firestarter, the Hatchetman, the Zeus, and the Banshee. They are the most venerable (TRO3025) Lyran designs IMO that a noble family of the Commonwealth might deploy in defense of the Archon. Love to see one of these in the throne room protecting the Archon rather than two Griffins. Anyway older Mechs with ample tech upgrades provided by the Archon is what I think the Huscarls will field until they get a Mech of their own sometime in the future. ;)

Not to mention that a Firestarter would make much more sense for operating in the confines of the Triad's throne room than a Griffin.

The shield.
Huscarls are all about shield and axe.
And I envisioned this when I thought about these two item.

But no comment on my 'Mech? ...  :(

Ah very good point Ice. One day I do want to build a Huscarl BattleMech for this unit as a gift from the Archon and a grateful nation. The axe in particular is a nice idea for their namesake Mech. What weight class do you think it would be? Assault is very Steiner but Heavy or even Medium feels more traditional Huscarl to me.

Your Mech unfortunately doesn't fit right after the Clan invasion but is something more Jihad era. Heavy PPC, Streak SRM-6, Large Shield, and B-Pods would be completely unavailable in this era. Other than that it looks like a nice assault Mech which could take a pounding and certainly deliver one close in.

And why is the movement reduced, modular armor?
