Title: Simple question regarding the IndustrialMechs
Post by: Ice Hellion on March 20, 2011, 09:26:19 AM
Would it be possible to make an IndustrialMech with no survival system and put a pilot inside with a space gear to breathe in a poisonous area?

I don't see why not. I think you'll need to calculate the weight of the pilot's gear. For game purposes, does that count as an open cockpit then?

I don't know yet.
I saw a picture and I had an idea for something but I wanted to see if it was plausible rulewise.

I do not see why it could not be done without changing anything, other than a mention of it in the fluff.  Maybe include a piloting skill roll penalty to represent the bulk of a civilian-grade Space Suit (unless your pilot is in a Combat Flight Suit, which is not encumbering).  Record sheet wise, take a design and just not put the Environmental Sealing on it.  Unless you were thinking of removing the Life Support crits as well.  Then you would have to make a custom cockpit, maybe lose a ton and a half of weight along with the two LS crits.

I was unsure about the Life Support part.

What do others think?
