Congratulations to the winners.

13. COM-99S (Ice Hellion) – First off I have to say that I loved your fluff the best even though it was a shameless pitch to the judge. Matrix and the OmniMech program go well together but I think you went a little too far modularizing the Commando. Such a project may indeed occur in the future but right now is beyond the technical capabilities of the InnerSphere. Aside from that it wasn’t too advanced and could have stood a better chance without going the full nine yards.

For me, the semi modular was advanced enough (trying to mimic the Mercury is a headache) and because of this I didn't want this Commando to be too advanced.
I did it my way and I guess I won :P

In regards to fluff you certainly did win but unfortunately there were two Lyran designs from Coventry Metal Works I judged to be better than the 99S.

And with a spare second let me say 25 tonners we barely knew ya. Hard to believe that the Commando is the only game in town for this weight class circa 3025.

Mistakes happen drak, I missed it myself initially. That baby panther would have probably worked better especially with the Marik Civil War happening and the need to field any and all Mechs. I'd probably pick another Province and manufacturer along the Lyran border though.

Did you have any thoughts about my comments on your winning 4D and 3T designs?
Glad that they and the 4V did well. Not sure why two of them are getting a number bump, but whatever works.

It occurs to me that the 4D might work well as a partner to the Wolfhound - same ground speed, no jumping. Not as tough but adds indirect fire to a light lance.

The number bump is my convention which in this case adhered to the 5 series as lostech upgrades of the Commando like the 5S which lack the XL Engine. The 6 series is those which feature the XL Engine and are higher priced. I try to stay away from canon variant designations but like to follow their standards if that makes any sense.
