All your designs follow a fairly typical trend: drop 5 tons, change mediums to ER mediums, increase speed, where practical upgrade LRMs a size
and add Artemis, make your SRMs larger (if possible)
and upgrade to Streak, and add a Targeting Computer (if there's room). IMO, it's actually starting to make the designs rather bland -- because there's no surprises, as you generally stick close to the original canon configuration.
So your Vulcan IIC is nice, but it's
just a Clan version of the original loadout. I prefer to look at a Vulcan IIC that keeps the
intent behind the 'mech while taking advantage of ClanTech. So I submit a Vulcan IIC variant that takes the intent of the 'mech -- killing infantry -- and goes to town with it.
It would perforce be a
Solahma 'mech, or, in the hands of the Invading Clans, something used for garrison work, but would be low status even in PGCs, because it's not designed to fight other 'mechs (though it'll shred similar-weight Inner Sphere designs).
It kills infantry. In quantity. All the time.
This variant is actually based on the popular-with-Davion VL-5T. Because the 2T is crap, with the only equipment useful against infantry being the MG and the flamer (not even the jump jets are on the legs to use against infantry!). I prefer to keep it a medium so people don't magically think that it needs to be a scout (light 'mech does not always equal scout, and this is good). It's got 4 medium pulse lasers, so it can shred almost any Inner Sphere medium with relative ease; I also bumped the speed to 7/11/7, because, hey, it's ClanTech; you can
do that. 11 DHS means it's really hard to pick up heat -- you have to alpha strike the energy weapons and do a max-range jump for a net gain of one heat.
But it's got 10 MGs spread around to help you kill infantry. Two each on every arm and torso, with an extra pair rear-facing, so you can happily jump in the middle of an infantry formation and have fun killing things. Two
half-tons of ammo (so it can still kill infantry even if it takes an ammo hit). An ECM suite makes it easier for the pilot to keep his fight against just his intended targets (infantry).
Armor is a little heavier than on your version (7 tons, the efficient max; no need to waste tonnage), but the distro has also been altered to provide somewhat heavier rear armor; infantry have a bad habit of turning up in unexpected places, especially in urban fighting.

I don't expect that everyone will agree with this design any more than you expect everyone to fall in love with yours, but I try to keep the (supposed) (fluff-based) intent of the design in mind when doing upgrades, as not even ClanTech can always save the original canon configurations of 3025 & 2750 designs...
I find myself looking forward to your Black Jack; that's another design (like the Vulcan) that has a severe disconnect between the fluff and the configuration.
