Overview:
Based on early Wolf Dragoons reports, Clan Goliath Scorpion saw parallels to their own situation in the struggles faced by the resource poor Capellan Confederation.

The Vindicator struck them as a particularly useful concept: a medium 'Mech intended to substitute for heavier and more expensive BattleMechs. Using schematics amassed by Dragoon techs from captured Vindicators the Scorpions began developing their own version.

Capabilities:
In order to keep expenses down, the Vindicator IIC doesn't use a extra-light reactor. This keeps its speed below that of most Clan Medium or Heavy battlemechs, a strategic penalty. However, this contributes to the durability of the Vindicator, which has a torso well-padded with equipment and carries as much armour as the frame can manage.

The remaining tonnage went into armament. The mix of PPC, medium laser and small laser is mirrored with extended range models and fourteen double heatsinks replace sixteen singletons, enabling sustained fire. In addition, the more compact Clan missile launchers enable the replacement of the lowly LRM 5 with an artemis-guided LRM 20 - although the ammunition endurance is reduced somewhat even with three times as many missiles carried. This degree of firepower compares well to some configurations of Clan heavy OmniMechs.

With construction costs only a little over four million Kerenskys, the Vindicator IIC can be built in sufficient numbers for secondline forces through the Goliath Scorpion touman to field them, primarily stationing them to protect fixed installations.

I would put a Small Pulse Laser as it would allow it to better fight against Elementals and Dark Caste infantry.

I am not wild about the Small Pulse with its low damage and short range although it is good against infantry. Nice pocket Heavy BattleMech. Wonder how masterarminas would feel about it for his Scorpions?

A small pulse laser would be useful against unaugmented infantry, but not so much against elementals. I considered one, but to get another half ton to replace the er small I'd have to either reduce armour (not good for a Mech intended to fight above its weight) or pull a heatsink and find something else to do with the second half-ton, in which case I might as well keep the er small. Going down to 13 double heatsinks would be doable since the Vindie IIC wouldn't be in range for the small lasers often, but I decided against it as it's not really intended for crowd control or for anti-infantry work in general.

The Wyvern IIC shares the same power plant and is sort of comparable to this design. Both use EndoSteel and Jump Jets but drak's new Vindicator IIC uses Ferro-Fibrous to achieve the same full armor protection for a 45 tonner that the Wyvern IIC shares resulting in a 1.5 ton savings. The Vindicator IIC also takes the Wyvern IICs main weaponry (ER Large and LRM-10) and upgrades it (ER PPC and LRM-20) while minimizing secondary weapons (ER Medium and ER Small compared to SRM-6, 2 ER Mediums, Flamer, 2 Machine Guns). It is an interesting comparison between these two but perhaps even more intriguing to pair them together to create an able defense team.

For Clarion Call we have the Scorpions deploying the Wayfinder which is being based off the Way Seeker created by JPArbiter from Quicksilver Program #7: 45 ton Zombie OmniMech that finished fourth out of twelve different designs. This Mech again shares the same movement profile but unlike the Vindie IIC here and Wyvern IIC uses no advanced construction materials in order to facilitate Seeking operations. This allows for low tech repairs and goes over well with the Scorpions and Cloud Cobras in my vision for their quests and spreading of the Way.

You never know who you will fight.
Or bring a Medium Pulse Laser in the game. You could drop the LRM-20 for a LRM-15 to get the tons.

You drop it to a 15 with 2 tons of ammo (2.5 tons) then fold in ER Medium and ER Small (1.5 tons) to put an ER Large in the Head. Hello long range medium zombie!  ;)
