Some weekend Classics - Flea, 'Marauder', and Shadow Hawk
« on: October 15, 2017, 05:12:15 PM »

So it's good varnishing weather in my part of Down Under! So I can take pics of these:

So these are my first Classics, and I'm using them as part of a nearly-finished battalion for the 2nd Regulan Hussars.

First thoughts - they're very nice minis (well done, gents!) The Flea and ShadowHawk are of course stock, and I really like the approach taken with one piece "base"/foot/leg/waist. Easy to assemble, capable of being posed in a variety of positions. The ShadowHawk I chose to do running 'around a corner', the Flea more generically sprinting.

The Marauder ... this is the 7R/9D from GenCon, strapped to a caber & tossed in the general direction of the Antipodes. I chose to ... "accurise" it. To me, the whole thing about Marauders is "arms in front". So I did. It's a lovely mini, tons of details; I'll make the 9W2 I got at the same time more 'stock stock', but I'm really happy with both the mini, and the result of my hacks.

Note - they are a bit large. The Flea does dwarf the Unseen Locust in it's lance, but it's OK, there are worse. Just a note for potential purchasers - really, the extra mass and details make this Marauder the one to buy out of the Reseen options. Thoroughly recommended.

More to follow in a few days when varnish is all dry, but comments more than welcome!
