T-IT-N13M Grand Titan
« on: October 04, 2016, 03:54:06 PM »

I LOVED this configuration when I first saw it back when the Battlecorps fan project was going strong, and seeing it as a Knight of the Sphere on Camo Specs painted like Grimlock was awesome.  so I finally set out to make my own.

the Base Battlemech itself is a Grand Titan "Vengence" Artillery mech.  I felt that the bulky armor would be more representative of the N13M's beefiness, plus it minimized the amount of overall cutting I would need to do.

the first thing I set out to do was figure out the Triple barrled gun.  since the Vengecen Grand Titan did not have the SHoulder lasers of the standard I was left with a medium laser above the wrist.  it turned out that a Gun part from a Griffin (part 20-200 D in the Scrapyard) fit PERFECTLY in a groove of the medium laser mount.a little pinning to hold it in place and BAM a perfect fit.

the Heavy PPC was harder to figure out.  I wanted to do a Celestial mech HPPC since that look became iconic of the weapon class, but I did not have the parts readily avaliable.  what I did have was an Ultra 10 gun from a Jupiter kit from long ago I discovered in my parts bin.I sawed the thing in half to get it to fit entirely under the arm, pinned and glued.

I meant to take a lot more pictures... I MEANT to, but then I skipped to the final product.  the hardest part was the damned sword.  no lying I SUCK at scultping my own pieces, so I was not about to attempt making one out of green stuff and wire.  with no good substitutes for the broadsword I wanted, I resoted to clipping off the tip of a Shiro's Naginata.  boring a hole through the hand and sliding it in with gule was easy peasey lemon squeezy.

the Jump Jets are re-purposed from a Mad Cat Mk II Model 6.  I left the jets off of my version to retain a look similar to the Clickwarrior days (that and they are a pain in the ass)  simple hole boring, pinning and gluing.  then it was on to painting.  I chose to make this mech part of the Buena Jagers and act as a "Bodyguard" to a lance of Hardened armor Clad Assault Mechs namely a Stalker II, Viking IIC (represented by a conventional Viking), and Trebaruna  fortunatly the Titan Vengence lent it self well to checkerboarding thanks to deep lines for well measured out squares...

Nice work JP!

I am attempting to modify one of my own designs soon. Although I have a hard time gluing them together. Gonna give it a try. Maybe I'll post it up. As I do it.

when modding mechs, Pinning goes from "Something nioce you could do that is guaranteed to be beneficial" to an absolute nessecity  Every Joint, every socket, every point where parts meet each other.

Thread necromancy!

I'm guessing this was hosted on SolVII, right? And I've got a special spot for the 13M. Any chance of reposting the image?

Thanks,

W.
