Texlos: Stop the Dropships!

The Hexare Grenadiers destroyed the underground base and got everyone out alive...with some decent salvage I might add.  The Grenadiers figure that the feeling AFFS troops were looking to get off planet and check out the edge of the lake leading from the mountain base.  Imagine our surprise when we find two dropships thinking they're waiting on their friends. By the way, it was a nice use of Sun Tzu and leaving a way out of the battlefield for your opponent.

Yup, our thoughts were to keep them backpetalling and sacrificing a few units at a time, instead of just planting and fighting.  Between our flanking forces and the mines, we hindered their retreat just enough to stretch them out and kill them off piecemeal.  There are rare times when splitting your forces works.  This was one of them.

I did damage and I think I almost punched through the armor or just punched through but didn't get any crits.

I wonder if I had kicked it if it would have to make a PSR to stay standing. :)

That's insane, and calls into question the integrity of DropShip armor. Then again, it was probably built by the lowest bidder.  ;)

Considering how grounded transport (read: doesn't have the word "Assault" tacked in front of it) DropShips are basically immobile -4 to hit targets made of plywood, it wasn't too much of a surprise that they were about as durable as the surface destroyers one of them was carrying.

Not really.  It was after a good amount of weapons fire had already stripped most of the armor away.
