I'm only about halfway through reading this new edit. I notice you've changed the names to "protect the innocent", I'm guessing for publication purposes. Part of me is sad because I like how certain individuals got their comeuppance. I really hope that Baen picks this for publication, please let us know if it comes out in a printed version. I'll certainly buy one! ;D I'll pay the shipping costs for you to autograph it.

Excellent work as always MA.  Thouroughly enjoyed reading it again, and look forward to seeing it on Baen, wherever the heck that is that I will have to find when it comes out in full.

Couple of nitpick suggestions, please review each to confirm your intent.
reply 1, paragraph 49, "Gladiators were simple" to "Gladiators were simply".
reply 6, paragraph 19, "oath leads us to here", to "oath leads us to her"?
reply 8, paragraph 2, "Toronto" to Ottawa (the Capital of Canada in this time)

Just as a bit of geographic information, the largest city on Vancouver Island is actually Victoria (the city of Vancouver is on the mainland).  There are also Canadian Military bases Air Force and Naval operating out of Vancouver Island.  Comox and Esquimalt respectively.  Not sure how that impacts your story if at all.

*stops twitching from withdrawal*

Is there any idea when we can expect to see it published?
