I grew up an orchestra brat

And these are the times that I miss it.

It took me well into my late teens to really grow to love anything that wasn't classical music, as I spent most of my youth either playing it or watching my sister perform with some very impressive symphonies and names around the country. (Harpists aren't exactly common in the rural Northeastern US). And while much of my music collection now is non-classical, there are still pieces that send a shiver up my spine when performed well. A beautiful flash mob version of Ode to Joy? Yes, please.

The coordination on this (which is not an easy piece to pull together) is absolutely nuts.

The "Ode an die Freude" is easily one of the most beutiful pieces of music ever written IMO, so I wholeheartedly agree

I grew up listening to classical and it was great. What is funny some cartoons when I was growing up had classical music in it and my friends and cousins did not realize that the music they were enjoying was classical

That piece and Canon in D will always lack something for me, when they don't have a harp. Hearing my sister play them all those years...they're so much improved with that particular instrument. Easily one of my most vivid memories is the viola/cello/flute/harp quartet of Ode to Joy she did at a Governor's mansion.

the "Som Sabadell" musical piece is also borrowed by a Christian Hymn.
I just can't quite place which one.

I've a very eclectic music taste.  It covers the spectrum
Beethoven > Bach > Gershwin > Tchaikovsky > Poison > AC/DC > Brooks&Dunn > electronica
