BattleTech = GURPS

I was looking through GURPs for ideas and concepts for game use in the BattleTech universe but trying to settle on a Tech Level equivalence is difficult. In some cases certain tech seems to be Edge of Tomorrow or TL8 (which seems like we are in today but hey it is a 90s product) in other stuff like HPGs seems far advanced. I'm just curious what you guys think on the subject.

 ;D that is an obvious answer to my question that I didn't even consider. I was looking at Ultratech and Spaceships lately for clues.

To be clear I don't think there is a single answer. An InnerSphere nation or Great House could have a wide variety of tech levels given their various locales.
