Set back #1037.  The last remnents of Tropical Depression Lee (they will name anything tropical weather related these days) passed through here yesterday with more rain and some gusty winds.  The winds decided that about 40 feet of my privacy fence needed to be relocated to the ground. >:(  Now I've got to find out if it will be worth filing an insurance claim, getting it fixed out of pocket, or doing the work myself.

Two weeks ago I missed a game I had been planning to go to for months.  West Alabama (where I got my bachlor's degree) was playing South Alabama (where I got my master's degree) in Mobile less then an hour from my house.  This was a game where I couldn't loose and will probably never happen again (West is a Division II school and South is a new FBS school playing a limited schedule).  I didn't get to go because I'm an adjunct history instructor and had a class that started 30 minutes before kickoff. :'(  Anyway South won 20-10 and continued its undefeated streak (18-0 at that point in the school's football history).  This past Saturday they beat Lamar 30-8.  Next week they play their first real FBS team, North Carolina State in Raliegh, NC.  Let's see if they can go 20-0. 8)  Go Jags!

Yes, football. ;D  Anyway South lost to NC State 35-13.  They then lost the next week to Kent State 33-25 (which is pretty good considering they were loosing 33-0 in the 3rd quarter).  South has a bye week this week and then plays the University of Texas-San Antonio next week; their third road game in a row.

Trying to get a new car and having to negotiate by phone because of my work schedule.  Feel nauseous and have a headache. :-\

You mean, you silly people don't know what football really is and we clever people have football.

Got a new car last Saturday.  2012 Hyundai Elantra GLS 6 speed manual silver with gray interior.  29 mpg city, 40 mpg highway (or 12.33 kpl city, 17 kpl highway for all of you using that pagan metric system).

Sweet! I'd love to have a car with manual transmission again. Driving an automatic feels like half my body is doing nothing and makes it too easy to get relaxed behind the wheel. Driving manual is more fun and keeps me more aware of the road. What sucks is that my wife needs to drive the car too and she can't use a manual transmission.  >:(

Automatic? Next time, you are going to tell me that the car is driving alone and that you are no longer needed.
