Guess who was at my house today?  Nope.  Nope, try again.  That's right it was Warhawk.  I think we spent a grand total of 3 minutes talking about BT.  Maybe that's because our wives were here or maybe because I haven't seen him for a year and a half and we had other things to catch up on.

That's right! Isn't he your cousin? He made the trip from the east coast to the bayou?! Dumb bastard. Must've driven straight through the worst parts of the state.  ;)

Yep, he's my cousin.  But bayou?  You've got to go to the other side of Mobile Bay before you start hitting bayous (Cotton Bayou in Gulf Shores doesn't really count).  And he got to drive through TS (really a TD because the Hurricane Center over blows everything) Debbie.  It must have been terrible because he said it
rained on him twice for about 10 minutes each time. ::)

Rained here for 48+ hours straight. I think I saw two ten minute breaks in the rain.  :)

We got that a few weeks ago from a run of the mill thunderstorm; no tropical system required. :P  Of course I live between the US's wetest city (Mobile) and second wetest city (Pensacola). ;D

It's, no bueno. Bloody storm surge flooded whole parts of South Tampa even after the rain stopped. I knew it was going to be bad, but I hadn't figured on the construction playing a part in worsening the problem instead of correcting it.

Oh well. 2012's first storm wasn't horrendous. It cost me a couple of fallen branches, two outdoor potted plants and a car windshield. At least I was able to see how the new house and trees stacked up against 70+ mile an hour wind gusts.

What's funny is that we had no idea there was even a storm. Just figured it was a really wet couple of days. The Mrs. grandmother called us from Georgia to see how we were holding up and if we were alright. I was kinda surprised considering the fact I had been running errands through the rain and wind all day.

Guess that's how you know you've fully integrated as a native. No tropical storm is going to stop this guy from getting to the Fresh Market.  ;)

You know your a native when a Cat 1 is coming and you don't even bother to board up your windows. ;D  Sucks about the windshield, though.  And construction usually makes the situation worse on the coastline.  My Dad thinks the only building materials that should be allowed on the coast is bamboo and palm fronds. :P

I'm thinking about writing a story I've had rattling around in my head for years but I don't know where to start.  So look for another thread in the General Discussion section in the near future (I'm on break at work so I don't have the time to do it right now).  I'm just posting this to see if anyone notices and/or is willing to help.

If it is BT related, I'd say we are all willing to help, with maps...have you heard how much fun maps are?  They cured all disease and taste good too.  With maps you are sexy and good looking, without and you are just another ugly mule’s arse.

Sorry, got a little carried away there.

However, if it is a teen vampire BT crossover, I am coming around to your house with barbed wire wrapped cricket bat and beating you about the head and shoulders with it.

They already did that. It was called the Warrior series.

Sorry I've been AWOL.  My anniversary was July 26 and since then its been work, my other work, and my other, other work; aka getting things done around the house.  Therefore i haven't had much time to get online, work on my story idea (didn't I say my writing method was, oh how should I put it, spastic, unorganized, turtle-paced......), or do anything else.  Oh well, my family's motto isn't "Que sera sera" for nothing.

Dang it!  Wandered away again.  My youngest's birthday was Aug 31 and her party was Sept 1.  Of course Isaac passed by a few days earlier (got rain and a little wind) and since then its been trying to get everything caught back up (especially for my 3 classes this semester).  I miss anything important?

A lot of things.
The first is that we decided you should move away from your hurricane region.
