Also yesterday Argentina beat Nigeria 1:0.
IMHO an entertaining game to watch. Argentina's Messi alone had chances to score several goals, but was denied several times by the Nigerian goalkeeper Enyeama or missed narrowly.

It was the best match of the day.

Slovenia have just beaten Algeria 1-0 to go top of the group that England and the USA are in and Serbia are playing Ghana now.

Ghana just won against Serbia 1:0 by a penalty goal. And deservedly I think.
All in all this was IMO one of the better games thus far. Though this was mostly due to the efforts of the Ghanaian team.

As this was the first game in the german group I watched this game with particular interest.
Ghana created quite a number of scoring chances but couldn't utilise them. Serbia was mostly concerned with defense and took some time to get into the game and could only create scoring chances with free kicks.
In the second half it was again Ghana that was more offense-oriented than defence-minded Serbia.
Interestingly enough only after a serbian defender was sent-off(in the 76th minute) Serbia became more active, generated some offense and created a few scoring chances. But in the 83rd minute Ghana was awarded a penalty when a Serbian player played the ball with his hand.
Ghanain striker Asamoah Gyan then scored the winning goal from the spot.
And with only two minutes left the same player hit thr post on a counterattack.

See, I knew Ghana was going to win. I had a feeling. I just wasn't sure by how much, but by the end I was certain it would have been by more than 1. Oh well...lol

The real blow out today was Germany! Holy smokes! A 4-0 shoosting over Australia. Dear god, now I feel kinda bad turning my back on those poor fellas. Sure the Aussies ain't much to speak of, but 4-0. Ouch. Talk about a serious confidence booster. It'll be interesting to see if Germany can ride this win past their Group...meaning, I'm fairly certain they'll be taking their group, but will that help them advance past the quarters. I'm not sure.

Well... I haven't been disappointed yesterday.  ;D
It will be interesting to see how the German team will perform against Serbia on Friday as the Serbians will probably need to win this game to compensate for their loss against Ghana.

On a side note this game will be broadcasted at 13.30 CEST so I wouldn't be surprised if some small shops consider to close for the duration of the game as they reportedly expect not too many customers(if any at all).... :D

It seems the big teams are not doing well (at least most of them).

On the funny side, I was just interviewed in a phone survey on the French team :P

Indeed. Spain lost against Switzerland 0:1.
As I haven't seen this game I cannot say much about it, though it surprised me when I saw the result.

Now all 32 teams have played once.
I hope that we'll see more goals from now on, since there were a bit too many 0:0 draws and 1:0 wins for my personal taste.

Fantastic win for argentina today 4-1 over south korea.

Greece were lucky to win 2-1 over 10 man nigeria.

Mexico are beating a poor french side 2-0 at the moment. (sorry ice  ;))

No problem, my guess was on 1-0 for Mexico.

Today was a rotten day all around. Group C is a mess and Koman is probably in hiding somewhere right now.  ;)

What a crazy World Cup.

Exactly what I was thinking last time I saw the results.
