Just finished On Basilisk Station.  What a great little read - Sci-Fi and Naval Warfare.

Already on book 2.

You know there is something wrong with the FWL, when Word's spell check changes Impavido to Impetigo and Zechetinu to Secretion.

Yeah it is a great read. I am a big fan. I brought up the subjects of LAC's ( Light Attack Craft) for Battletech.

I read this series religiously until about 4 years ago. I haven't read anything from the Honorverse since. Mainly because it was getting dull and beginning to resemble pulp fiction.

Never read the Honourverse books but if anyone is looking for a good naval scifi series you can't go very wrong with Jack Campbell's The Lost Fleet there's six core books and now three spin offs in the Beyond the Frontier series and one in the Lost Stars series

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.

I have read several Honoverse books (I am waiting for the editor to resume publishing them in French (I began in French and I like to have the whole serie in the same language)) and I also have read the whole Lost Fleet.

I got burned out on Honor after "At All Costs" but I really enjoy them. "on Basilisk Station" is a brilliant novel, but my favorite is "Honor of the Queen". I prefer her as a Captain rather than after her promotions.

If you can, track down the short novella "Ms. Midshipwoman Harrington". It's really good, and it shows Honor with her first tour.

I have a Honorverse wargame called Saganami Island Tactical Simulator, but I'm not smart enough to understand it. It uses vectors and equations and stacking blocks for elevations. It makes Star Fleet Battles look like Monopoly. :)
