Review Blog
« on: June 13, 2011, 05:18:17 PM »

A while ago, I asked people to pitch me in order to get onto my Kindle for a business trip I was taking. The rule was that people asked, I downloaded a sample and those I liked went on the trip with me (well their books anyway...). I tended to stick with SF and Horror, although no-one got turned away.

Having worked through the list, chosen my companions and completed the trip, I was left with a fair few review notes. Another promise I made was to post my thoughts somewhere. Having done that it came to me that I should have a separate Blog to my Sudden Dearth one, in which I could give my opinion, do reviews and generally cover things not specifically within the Urionverse. So that is what I will do. The blog is easy to find under www.gerardawhitfield.blogspot.com and will be up and running with its first review at the end of this week.

First reviews will be my notes from that trip, and I'll post the list of those books shortly. Having linked this blog to Goodreads, the reviews will be available there too. It's just my thoughts on some less mainstream SF and Horror novels. If anyone is interested why not pop along and see some of the new authors I found from a simple business trip ;)

WORD (of Blake) is good for two things. 1. Leaving inappropriate notes on other people's work. 2. Adding fake words (of Blake) to the dictionary.

Thankin' you 8)

The first two reviews will be of Nathan Lowell's Trader Tales and Something Evil by Cal Noble. I enjoyed them both and hope to have the reviews up by the weekend. ;)

If anyone wants to suggest some lesser known works to include, please feel free.

Once Ive cleared my list I will try and include some BT novels too. I have my favourites as do most people. Now there's a thought, how about we work out a top five on the site and feature their reviews?

Me, I'd go for the Blood Of Kerensky books by Stackpole. That was what actually hooked me to start with ;D
