France vs. Scotland which was played on February 12th, 2017. Looking forward to getting some time to take a look.

The guide is showing me two more matches as well. Tomorrow, the 17th there is a 2017 World Club Series match but the teams are not listed. On the 28th their is a Four Nations match between Australia and Scotland with an air time of midnight here (Eastern Standard)

Rugby League games I think, can't speak of the 4 nations but the world club championship games were both good (assume it'll be Wigan v Cronella) although i'm sure if Blacknova sees this he'll be less than happy that we are discussing league and not union  ;)

What if I have no clue what the difference is?  :o

I'm still trying to watch and learn the sport on the rare times it's televised in my area...

If your IQ is over 10, Rugby Union is your game.

Is that the one with 15 players? I love watching Rugby 7s as it extremely high-paced.

Union is the original with 15 men.

League is the 13 man break away that was formed so players could be payed, has 6 phases before the ball is turned over to the opposition, no line outs and uncontested scrums.

Both have there attractions, most american's i've met seem to get League over union, closer to american football I guess.

Also in the League Challenge Cup today a team from Toronto (the Wolfpack) are making their debut.

As for Union we have the 6 nations today/tomorrow with:-

Ireland v France
Scotland v Wales
England v Italy

7's is the short for of Rugby Union, with all the same rules, just 7 players and shorter halves.

Really impressive win for Scotland yesterday over Wales and Ireland ground a result out against France.

In League (Sorry BN) the Toronto Wolfpack overcame the amateurs of Siddal and the weather to win their first game as a professional club in the Challenge Cup.

Scotland - Wales: 29-13
Wales dominated the first half but didn't manage to make the difference and Scotland managed to get back into the game with an impressive 20 to 0.

Ireland - France: 19-9
Typical game. France tried to do things at the beginning but didn't manage to do anything really serious before falling back to its old demons and having to defend itself against a green wave that didn't let them any chance.

England - Italy: 36-15
Italy almost managed to create a surprise because of their tactic where they refused to create/compete into rucks. However from the 2nd half on, the English team managed to find a key to find the way to score 5 trials.

My Irish friend at work says it is looking like Ireland vs England the day of St. Patrick's for all the marbles.

I am not online and no one writes about what is going on  :'(
Since you are missing two games, I will only write shortly about the last game and give a general comment on the different teams.

Ireland prevented England to make a grand slam.
France won after a long game and I lost the count of how many scrums for the Welsh try line.
Italy lost another game.

The final results are:
1. England
2. Ireland
3. France
4. Scotland
5. Wales
6. Italy

England has a great team and great potential. Every player in it can make a difference.
Ireland has a team that knows how to play its partition to win.
France is still looking for its game style and didn't convince me (no flair and too many mistakes).
Scotland was better than usual and Wales a little less but they are both team that will play with their guts up to the last second.
Italy... Poor Italy. Not enough discipline, not enough game possibilities...

Good right up Ice, I am of the opinion that there should be a second level 6 nations competition that runs concurrently with the main one with promotion/relegation as I feel Georgia would be a better proposition than Italy at the moment.

How would you do that? Like in regular League, every year? How long does it take to build a team and a rugby culture?
And imagine that one day one of the 5 historical is last...

Looser of 6 nations plays winner of 2nd tier 6 nations in a home and away format, winner over the two legs is in the top tier competition for the next season.

I like Italy but in rugby terms they have regressed in recent years and Georgia (or other nations) need the opportunity to progress as well, the only other option would be to become the 7 nations and then were do you stop?
