It started yesterday with 2 games and they did show great promises.

I will post the results and my analysis later today after the 3rd one.

Wales - Ireland: 10-34
A clear victory with Ireland being ahead at the half-time by 3-27
Wales managed a better second half as Ireland was dropping their intensity but never really managed to put in danger their opponents.
Check the try by James Lowe.

England - Scotland: 23-29
For me the first match of the new English coach.
I hope Rainbow6 agrees with me but I prefered this English team as the previous one. They brought some game even if some players underperformed.
It was really a contested game but in the end Scotland was more efficient when it mattered and with a strong defence.
If you can, check the try by Duhan van der Merwe.

Italy - France: 24-29
A lot of indiscipline from the French team but in the end, France managed to do the job being there when it mattered (even if the end result was not as high as expected against Italy). The French are solid but the Italian team displayed something inspiring
Check the try by Ethan Dumortier.

I think it is going to be a good competition with 6 teams that aren't on the same level but that have something to show.

Wales - Ireland, not the best start for the 2nd coming of Gatland but they improved in the 2nd half, Ireland are probably one of the favourites for this year.

England - Scotland, as Ice said better performance for England, hopefully they'll improve as the tournament goes on, Scotland were good value for the win, if they can back this game up I could see them being in the shake up for the title this year.

Italy - France, very good performance from Italy but still not enough to overcome a French team who are probably the other favourite for this years 6 nations.

Back on so quick catch up on round 2

Ireland 32 - 19 France a solid performance from Ireland who will probably go on to win the competition.

Scotland 35 - 7 Wales Scotland showing the win over England wasn't a fluke and the title might well come down to the game between them and Ireland. Wales showing they need a lot of work.

England 31 - 14 Italy whilst the score makes this look one sided England racked up the points in the first half and lost the 2nd half 13-14 whilst Italy only had 14 men on the pitch.

Also in the rugby league club championship St Helens went to Australia and won against the NRL champions Penrith.

Not sure if any of you follow Rugby League but thought it worth mentioning as it's been a while since the northern hemisphere Super League champions have beaten the Southern Hemisphere NRL champions.

I posted over on the official CBT forum.

Rugby League ? I don't know this competition.

Rainbow6 what do you think of how England played against Italy? I think Italy provided more game but that England mastered the basics of rugby and managed thanks to that to outperform the Squadra Azura.

And France-Scotland will be interesting to see.

Rugby League is worth looking at, 13 man game and certainly a skilful one, There's a French side in the top flight in the northern hemisphere and another in the 2nd tier.

On the 6 nations side of things it does seem that England are getting back to basics which led to the win over Italy.

Italy-Ireland: 20-34

Italy showed something (like always this year) again an Irish team with a lot of his key people injured or not there to rest, which showed in the inability to get through the Italian defense in the second half. However in the end, they failed at some key moments and gave several occasions for Ireland to score.
The first half-time was the most interesting with 6 tries scored (Italy scoring the last one after an interception that had they not done it would have ended in an Irish try).

You have to feel that Italy are going to turn someone over at some point.

They already won against France once.

Wales-England: 10-20

Not really a fluid game. Wales managed only once to really get through the English defense and England did the job without showing too much inspiration.

Sorry meant totally destroy someone, possibly Wales.

England got a result against a poor Welsh side, I doubt they achive anything against their remaining oponents.
