I did miss your update and with our BattleTech event we missed out on seeing the last of this year's six nations.

I heard Wales pretty much had it locked up going into this week as Ireland would have had to have won in order to give England a chance and that was not going to happen.

I had the feeling that Ireland wouldn't do it but it was still possible for them to win.
However between the Welsh being well into the game and as good as ever and the Irish being out of the game...

If you have a chance, look at England-Scotland, it was perhaps the best game of the tournament.

We went through the World Cup without me really analysing it. Between a lot of work and the broadcasting of the games at times when I was working (this is what you get when the World Cup is being played in Japan).

Now it is time for the 6 Nations and after 3 weeks, let me say that :
- England the vice-world champion doesn't make a good impression. They do the job but they are lacking a little something (I never saw Twickenham so silent as today in their game against the Irish (which they totally asphyxiated and prevented from playing, making them even lose in a way their fighting spirit).
- Ireland is not convincing. Perhaps it is time to change some key players?
- Wales seems solid as always.
- Scotland is yet to be seen.
- Italy is as always...
- France is making a come-back (3 games and 3 victories) after so many years of nothing and to do it with let's say style.

After a 2020 edition a bit peculiar, which ended with the last games being played at the end of the year and a victory by goal average for England with France in second position and Ireland in 3rd, the 2021 edition just started.

Without anyone in the stadiums, it is rather strange but it is so.

Italy-France: 10-50

The French are in a good spirit. They scored 7 tries and the Italian team, which is rather a new one (something around 140 international games summing the 15 players starting the game, which is not much) suffered from the usual Italian problems... with a few individualistic solutions but not much.

England-Scotland: 6-11
Scotland didn't let England play and England found no solution or had no imagination to do so. Even in the physical area, the Scots were there all along the game.
Scotland only lacked a bit of success in the way they finished their actions for the score to really show their domination.

Nice Ice!

Good to see rugby is back.

But something is missing.
An empty stadium is something else for those seeing it on TV and for the players too.

Agree with you on this.

Good game by Scotland and they deserved their win.

Wales-Ireland: 21-16

Ireland played at 14 against 15 for almost 70 minutes following a dangerous move by one of their player which received a red card.
However, they managed to be dangerous and lead for quite some time and tried until the end.
Wales managed to win but didn't convince.

And a key player in the Irish team might be missing next week against France (and also the one with the red card) and the team will probably be really tired after their show.

England-Italy: 41-18
Do not let the score foul you. England had troubles to find the key and Italy fought really well.
The reserve players were the key to open this match (20-8 at half time and with a try following an interception in the last minutes of the first half-time).

Scotland-Wales: 24-25
What a game.
After the first half, Scotland was leading in the score and seemed to let no chance to Wales.
However Wales fought back with heart and had numerical superiority for the last 30 minutes following a red card like last week for the same kind of dangerous move.
The show went on until the last second.
