Italy was always the weakest since its inception in the then 5 Nations Championship in 2000.
I think their last win in this Championship was in 2015 and since 2000, they won (if I am not mistaken) 12 out of 126 matches (ending with the 2020 Championship).
They try but... One of their problems is that they don't have the pool to have enough good players and it takes time to build a team and a tradition, even more in the modern rugby with professionals.

And for Scotland, I wrote it wrong. They lost 24-25 (I will correct it).
And I forgot to speak of Louis Rees-Zammit, the 20 years wing in the Welsh team that scored 2 tries (and 1 last week).

I'm surprised they haven't introduced promotion/relegation into the competition, Italy could use a season playing lesser teams to build their confidence and Georgia deserve a crack at the top table.

I heard a lot about Georgia but wouldn't they be in the same position?
And let's imagine it happens to someone else: how would the 6 Nations be without Scotland, Wales, England, Ireland or France?

Ireland-France: 13-15

Even if Ireland would have had their usual duo on the field, I don't think it would have made a difference. France was more efficient when it had the ball and defended well.

My bet for this year would be on the French.

The players are going through a specific protocol with regular tests and limited social contacts.

Sorry, I didn't post anything yesterday.

France didn't play because too many players were Covid ill. Their game against Scotland was postponed.

Italy-Ireland: 10-48
With 6 tries and 3 rejects, Ireland never had anything to worry about. Italy didn't display any of the little sparks we saw in the earlier games (they even had 2 yellow cards almost at the same time (yellow card means out of the game for 10 minutes)).

Wales-England: 40-24
I think this is the first time in a long time that Wales put 40 points to England.
Even if there are some talks about two of the Welsh tries, England didn't manage to play efficiently on the offensive and was sanctioned too many times for its lack of discipline.
One explanation I heard (but I didn't check) is that a lot of its key players are playing in a club, the Saracens, which is now in 2nd Division with no game played for the last ..; and when you are not up to the task on a physical level, you tend to make more mistakes because your head is focusing on something else (bringing more energy).
