A Few interesting results from the weekend and a desperate attempt to get you all to stop dicussing soccer. Don't you know that thanks to me, Rugby is now the dominant sport in BT....no really, you can trust me...
Anywhoo, Irish fall to the Barbarians, never a good start toa campaign, unlike the Poms, although they did not play too well. Still first game rust can be called for any side for thier first hit out of the season. The Welsh put a royal scare up the South Africans (34-31), showing that domainant S14 form does not automatically translate to immidiate International dominance, although it helps. Australia dusted the Fijians 49-3, in what was a pretty dull game. The pack needs serious work, we have now lost 4 of our best 5 front rowers, the loosies were scatteded, the half back needs to be dropped to club rugby (thank god Genias back), however from 10-15 and the back reserves, showed that Australia may well have the dominant and most dangerous back line by next years world cup.
Still, early days and the English next week will be a real test for the forward pack. Any of you English want to wager a beer on the game? Cold beer that is!
