You know, there's a kind of funny side effect to that. Do you really want Hasbro casting an eye in CGL's direction (not that there's anything to cast an eye about, but well, past luck and history seems to keep rearing its ugly head).

there is nothing preventing Hasbro from trying to purchase Battletech from Topps right now.

Well sure, except for a motivating reason (like having HG in their pocket), and the point that it was a just a jest to get to the Battletech 2.0 bit.  ;D

I get the joke, though if Hasbro either countersues HG into annihilation, or just buys them, the FIRST thing that would happen is a liquidation of all of thier assets, so having HG in thier pocket is meaningless.

I don't think Harmony Gold ever saw Battletech as a mortal enemy to be eliminated, more like an annoyance.
