I reckon that the injuries might be just what we need...no wait, listen ;D

No Lampard, no Terry (hope Cahill recovers though) and a chance for our young players to shine. It had to happen at some point and better now I reckon. I watched the Belgium game and was pleasantly surprised. Good movement off the ball, Welbeck took his goal well and Oxlade-Chamberlein and Walcott played well. These were the guys from our best under-21 team recently with others of course.

I would like to see England go and give it a real go there - not the usual half-hearted attempt.

Maybe, just maybe we might get to the semi's??????????????? ;)

That's a good point Rayo. While I was a little disenfranchised with our prospects, I'm hoping some of our younger players would step up. Some of these players are the "future" of English Football. With only two years till World Cup it'd be nice to see some of these chaps distinguish themselves on the world forum a little early.

unfortunatly Terry is fit to go and Cahil is out with a double fracture of his jaw.

Liverpool's Martin Kelly has been called up as his replacement.

At least he didn't call up up Rio (I must be old I can hear Duran Duran right now!!!!)

So, with Terry available we know who will get sent off in the important match in the quarter's ;D ;D ;D ;D

... and then who is going to miss the last penalty after extra time if Terry is sent off :o

Maybe we can win it after all ;)

So, the Pool have let Steve Clarke go :o

Bad mistake I think. He had at least had experience of working under Mourinho, did well at the Toon and is a recognised top level coach. Just think that the Reds have commited seppuko. Brendan needed some experience of managing top players (not talking about Andy Carrol!)

I get the feeling that the groundwork is being laid for another Roy Hodgson stint...hope not though :D

Thought Andy Carroll looked back to the player Liverpool bought, hopefully he can keep it up for club and country.

Also I see Liverpool start the new season away at Steve Clark's baggies.

Well, I sat through the typical quarter final - nil-nil at full time, another 30 minutes of torture and losing at penalties. At least we improved from last time, no-one was sent off :D If we continue with our progression we might reach the semi's by 2020 :o

Enjoyed the potential, maybe with a few younger players for the world cup, we might get somewhere.

At least I can now support Spain without any mixed feelings ;)

Yeah, typical quarter final exit, after 25 good minutes at the start it all went wrong.

Oh well i'll be following spain now, a no brainer as i (the mrs lol) has already picked out where we want to move to on Tenerife.

Still the football season starts soon, i'll be picking up my white membership ticket for Plymouth Argyle on friday  :)

Well, tomorrow the big one is hitting, many think that the youngest team of the tournament can finally beat Italy. Classic.

And I think they can do it. Just dont have to fear them. As well as Spain. They can be beat. Perhaps even this evening? Who knows.

Well, I surely hope that the Nationalelf can win against Italy tomorrow.
And today's match(after 33 minutes played) is not as one-sided in Spain's favor as many people have predicted.

Yeah portugal played well, but only 1 shot on target from both teams combined in 90 mins didn't make for the best of matches.

Finally recovered from celebrating the win by "La Roja". Went to the local bar and the atmosphere was just like being at the match - flags, singing, dancing. What a night!

The jumping in the swimming pool later was a bit different from being at the game itself, but well worth it.

Roll on the Olympics and then the season starts with a home game against Spurs!
