There's a very funny episode of News Radio from about 15 years ago centered around Jimmy James', the owner of the radio station, autobiography that was a dud in the US years before but had become a hit in Japan. He had decided to rerelease the book in the US by retranslating the Japanese edition back into English. Hilarity ensued at the book reading at the big release party.
