Volga-class Transport (Ironhold Provider)

WarShips marked with an asterisk (*) remain in the Homeworlds.

NOTE:  Once again, some major changes.  I got rid of the various Eyre Clusters and all but one Solahma Cluster.  Seriously?  The Falcons had more Solahma Clusters than Garrison units!  (Not really, but it certainly seemed like it.)  Why would they have such a massive number of Solahma personnel?  Anyway, I have also changed some designations to a more ordered structure.  The Falcon Fleet has also shrunk in the wash; canon, they just had way too many ships.

NOTE:  We only see the Nova Cat Touman AFTER it has been shattered on Tukayyid, and then again later when it has been Abjured.  This is my idea of what they might have looked like.  Fleet strength has been reduced (did the Cats really need two dozen Carracks?).

Essex-class Destroyer (Dark Claw, Griffin*, Iowa, Queen Lynx*, Sabre Cat)
York-class Destroyer (Lioness)
Vincent-class Corvette (Azov*, Ripper*)

WarShips marked with an asterisk (*) remain in the Homeworlds.

NOTE:  These Jaguars are not as large as many presume the pre-Revival Jags to be.  Why?  They didn’t need to be.  Their assault-heavy Touman and utter ferocity made up the difference in numbers.  Anyway, this is just my vision, so take it with a grain of salt.

I think they would have left more frontline at home

Despite the forward bases importance and what the invasion had to come 3 Galaxies per Clan invading should be plenty with 17 of them

The Clans are all about honour 51 Galaxies would have steamrolled a canon IS in 3050

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.

Guys, double-check my units here.  I am going from Sarna.net, since my books are mostly packed up in storage.  Dragon Cat, in this AU, they are aiming squarely at the Federated Commonwealth . . . well, the Lyran half.  Potential opposition is thus:

Armed Forces of the Federated Commonwealth (3049)

Arcturan Guards:  3 Regiments, 6 Regimental Combat Teams (8th RCT, 11th RCT, 15th, 17th RCT, 19th, 20th, 23rd RCT, 24th RCT, 25th RCT)

Avalon Hussars:  8 Regimental Combat Teams (11th RCT, 17th RCT, 20th RCT, 22nd RCT, 33rd RCT, 39th RCT, 41st RCT, 42nd RCT)

Ceti Hussars:  3 Regimental Combat Teams (1st RCT, 2nd RCT, 3rd RCT)

Chisholm's Raiders:  2 Regimental Combat Teams (1st RCT, 2nd RCT)

Crucis Lancers:  8 Regimental Combat Teams (1st RCT, 2nd RCT, 3rd RCT, 4th RCT, 5th RCT, 6th RCT, 7th, RCT, 8th RCT)

Davion Brigade of Guards:  8 Regimental Combat Teams (Assault Guards RCT, Heavy Guards RCT, Light Guards RCT, 1st RCT, 2nd RCT, 3rd RCT, 4th RCT, 5th RCT)

A total of 97 Regiments, 22 Battalions, and 132 Regimental Combat Teams . . . IF no one else gets involved.  Sure, not all of that is going to be in the Lyran half of the realm, but once the scope of the invasion is understood, probably 3/4s will get moblized.  That is around 177 Regiments just of 'Mechs.  No counting any of the armor, infantry, or artillery regiments in the RCTs (about 100).  On average, those will add another 300 regiments of tanks, 500 of infantry, and 100 battalions of artillery, plus ASF assets.  If no one else gets in the game, and Hanse deploys 3/4s of his forces to stop the invasion.

Facing that, the Clans have 290 front-line Clusters and 84 second-line Clusters.  Now, what if the DC and FWL decide to get skin in the game?  That could add another 100-120 Regiments of 'Mechs alone.  Besides, while the Lyran Commonwealth is the primary target of this phase of Revival, the Clans do mean to conquer the entire Inner Sphere (and near Periphery).  They don't have the forces to do that, but do they know it?

Per 20 Year Update, the Lyran State Command fielded 154 regiments, 1 battalion.  That's including mercs.  And I'm sure the Fed Suns half would send over more troops, they'd pretty much have to.

I read that the total strength of the AFFC was 256 regiments and 1 battalion, which would give the Federated Suns half 102 regiments.

I wonder if Hanse would send too much troops.  If he weakens the FedSuns too much it becomes target of both the Combine and Confederation...

In canon the Federated Suns (nee Commonwealth) was safe because it had destroyed the Confederation and the Combine was threatened by the Clan invasion as well as the Lyran half of the Federated Commonwealth.  In this neither the Confederation nor Combine are threatened by the Clans.  The Combine even has the Rasalhague buffer zone protecting it's back, Takashi would learn of a Clan assault against the Rasalhague Republic weeks (assuming he has people in the Republic as soon as he hears of the Lyran threat) before he was threatened allowing him to carve up the Draconis March.

The only way I could see this not happening is if Hanse Davion doesn't tell the other nations the Lyran half of his nation is threatened or he hides his losses and troop movements very well.

I'll be interested to see how it pans out.

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.
