master arminas - Revisting Revival: A Look at What it Could Have Been « on: April 17, 2009, 11:48:11 AM »Good morning, everyone. Takiro and I were talking about the Clans and bouncing some ideas from each other. Now, I have been playing around with doing Operation Revival over from the beginning—but this doing it the way it should have been done. For the past few months, I have worked on ‘re-writing’ the Clans with two goals in mind: the first is to ‘balance’ the Clans.
It has always struck me as odd the sheer difference in size between the largest Clan and the smallest. Given the warrior-centric society of the Clans, would that not make the smallest very vulnerable to absorption? I think it would. In a culture where ‘might equals right’ being a third the size of your competitors is just asking for trouble. So, the first thing I set out to do was to level the playing field.
The second thing I was attempting to accomplish was to address the disparity of forces. In Canon we see the Clans divided into ‘front-line’, ‘second-line’, and garrison forces, plus the para-military units that we do not see. Why? The very nature of the Clans would—in my own humble opinion—prevent them from creating such distinctions. Can you imagine the blood-shed that would ensue in Trials of Refusal and Grievance from Warriors assigned to such ‘lower-status’ units? Furthermore, why would they even bother with those classifications to begin with?
Until the launch of Revival, the Clans dealt only with each other—and the Bandit caste. I can not believe that the Bandit caste presents such a great threat that more than one or two Clusters are unable to defend a Clan world—and most worlds have far more than that assigned. Against each other, Clan honor codes prevent one from conducting surprise attacks, so there is always time to move troops to fight Trials (except during Annihilations and Absorptions, but these are quite rare events). And through the use of zell, even numerically inferior forces can face their opponents on an even footing.
What I have done here is to discard all those classifications. If a Clan has a Cluster listed in its TOE, that is a front-line unit. I do not bother to list PGCs and local para-military defense forces, since I see these as primarily civil order troops—lacking ‘Mechs, Aerospace Fighters, and Elementals. These units use conventional infantry and vehicles, VTOLs and conventional fighters to keep the peace on a world. Occassionally, they might defend against an attack, but that would be very rare. Defending against other Clans is the duty of the fighting arm of the Toumen, as are attacks and offensive action.
Perhaps this would change after the Clans encountered guerilla insurrections in the Inner Sphere, but they would not do so beforehand, would they?
Attached to this post are two files: My Clans lists each of the sixteen Clans pre-Revival with their full TO&E, lacking only the PGC and para-military forces. Yes, I did say 16. I moved up the Burrock Absorption to 3040 so it is already a done deal by the time of Revival. The second doc, the excel worksheet Clan Comparison, shows each Clan’s strength in ‘Mechs, Elementals, Vehicles, and Fighters, as well as WarShips, Galaxies, Clusters, and Stars. This doc lets you compare and contrast each of the Clans.
I hope that you enjoy the post and the data I have worked on. Let me know if you have any suggestions or ideas that might make this project better.
Now, on to what I have done with each of the individual Clans.
Clan Blood Spirit
For the Blood Spirits, I did not change very much overall. A Clan in decline, they fought the Absorption War against the Adders and Burrocks. The Spirits are a VERY rigid Clan, hewing to the original Cluster structure laid down by Nicky: three ‘Mech trinarys, one infantry trinary, and one vehicle trinary. Aerospace assets are assigned directly to the Clan Command, and grafted to Galaxies as needed. Blood Spirit vehicles tend towards medium and heavy wheeled and tracked units, with heavy firepower and armor, but little mobility. Still, the Spirit training program for their warrior sibkos results in the Clan possessing a very capable Toumen. 25 Clusters, organized in 5 Galaxies, comprise their fighting-arm. However, they are VERY weak in WarShip strength, with a mere 4 WarShips. Total strength is 436 Stars, including the Aerospace units assigned to the Naval Reserve and the Elemental Marines assigned to the Spirit Fleet.
Clan Cloud Cobra
The smallest of the Clans, it still 61% the size of the largest. For the most part the Cobras do not engage in the normal tit-for-tat of combat between the Clans, preferring to defend what they have, instead of initiating constant trials against others. With their holdings in the Tanite Worlds, they have a solid industrial base and excellent resources, which should make them a prime target. However, despite their size, they possess the most OmniFighters of any Clan directly assigned to their fighting arm. Any battle against the Cobras means running a gauntlet of constant fighter strikes, strafes, and bombing missions, while their small—but well-trained—‘Mech and Elemental forces maneuver for the kill.
One of the Clans that do not use the ‘standard’ organization, the Cobras instead have arranged their Clusters to suit their own needs. Fang Clusters have two trinarys of OmniMechs and three of OmniFighters. Guard Clusters have two binarys of OmniMechs, one of Elementals, and three of OmniFighters. Coil Clusters are similar to Guard Clusters, but upgrade the Fighter binarys to trinarys. These three types of Clusters are the main arm of the Toumen.
Three unique formations are also in the Clan structure. The Battle Cluster uses the standard Clan organization of 3 ‘Mech, 1 Elemental, and 1 OmniFighter trinary. The Grenadier Cluster has 2 ‘Mech, 1 Elemental, and 2 OmniFighter trinarys assigned to it. The Dragoon Cluster is one of the most powerful formations in Clan space with 3 Nova Trinarys and 2 OmniFighter Trinarys.
The Cobras also maintain two command Keshiks, each of which has a trinary of OmniMechs, one of Elementals, and two Binarys of OmniFighters.
Total strength is 22 Clusters in 5 Galaxies, plus 15 WarShips, for a grand total of 376 Stars.
Clan Coyote
The Coyotes are no longer the force they once used to be, but they are still large and powerful. 27 Clusters in 6 Galaxies form the core of the Toumen. Each Coyote Cluster uses the standard organization of 3 OmniMech trinarys, 1 Elemental trinary, and 1 OmniFighter trinary, but also adds a Command Star. Each of the six Galaxies also has an independent Command Trinary of 15 OmniMechs. With 13 WarShips, the Clan also has a sizable presence in space. Total strength is 511 Stars.
Clan Diamond Shark
With 24 Clusters in 8 Galaxies, the Sharks are often perceived as weak. After all, the Scorpions also have a mere 24 Clusters of troops. However, each of the Clusters they deploy is overstrength. Each posses the standard Clan organization (3 OmniMech, 1 Elemental, 1 OmniFighter trinary), but add a Command Trinary consisting of two OmniMech stars and a mixed command star with 4 OmniMechs and 2 OmniFighters. The two support stars are often Nagas, mounting Arrow IV systems. In addition to this, each Galaxy has a Skate—which is basically the Galaxy command unit. Smaller than in canon, each Skate has two mixed command stars (as above) and a support nova with 5 OmniMechs and 25 Elementals. When combined with the 17 WarShips of the Shark Fleet, this organization gives the Clan flexibility and striking power. Total strength is 511 Stars.
Clan Fire Mandrill
Man oh man. I can’t even begin here. Refer to FM:CC for each individual Kindraa organization, and try to reverse engineer the numbers I give. If they ever units, they would be one of the strongest of Clans with 28 Clusters in 7 Kindraa, for a total of 445 Stars and 7 WarShips.
Clan Ghost Bear
The single strongest Clan in existence, da Bears field 32 clusters in 8 Galaxies, along with 17 WarShips. 28 of their Clusters consists of a Command Star, two OmniMech trinarys, one Nova Binary, one Elemental Trinary, and one OmniFighter Binary. The other four are assigned to Zeta Galaxy and are an experimental force: each Cluster consists of just 375 Elementals (5 Trinarys). This is the only pure Elemental command in the Clans, and is seldom employed as an intact unit. Each of the galaxies are assigned a Keshik, consisting of either a Nova Binary (7 Galaxies) or an Elemental Trinary (Zeta only). The Khan has an identical Keshik assigned directly to him. Total force strength is a massive 615 Stars! Thankfully for other Clans, unless you provoke them, they seldom emerge for their own domain. When they do, however, Oh Mama!
Clan Goliath Scorpion
One of the smaller Clans, the Scorpions field 24 Clusters in 6 Galaxies. Each type of Cluster is a thoroughly mixed formation (see FM:WC for details), giving the Scorps combined arms down to the Trinary level. Total strength is 419 Stars and 17 WarShips.
Clan Hell’s Horses
An oddity among the Clans, Hell’s Horses is the only one who choose to field combat vehicles in their fighting arm (while the Spirits do field vehicles, they are conforming to the decrees of Nicky, and consider them second-rate). At 22 Clusters and 5 Galaxies, the Horse’s look weak on paper, but that is not quite the case. Each cluster consists of 1 OmniMech trinary, two Nova trinarys, a mixed trinary (2 vehicle stars, 1 vehicle/elemental nova star), and 1 OmniFighter trinary. Each Galaxy also has a command element of 1 OmniMech Star, 1 Nova Star, 1 Vehicle Star, and one Vehicle Nova Star. Two smaller clusters act as the Keshiks of the Clan. Each consists of 1 OmniMech Star, two Nova Stars, 1 Vehicle Star, two Vehicle Nova Stars, and 1 OmniFighter Trinary. Favoring fast, hard-hitting hover vehicles, the Horses are perhaps the ultimate Clan expression of combined arms. Total force strength is 480 Stars and 10 WarShips.
Clan Ice Hellion
With 23 Clusters in 6 Galaxies, the Hellions excel in fast-strike tactics. Each of their Clusters are organized according to the Clan standard organization: 3 OmniMech trinarys, 1 Elemental trinary, and 1 OmniFighter trinary. Using lighter ‘Mechs (on average) than any other Clan, the Hellions have a difficult time maintaining a full Toumen. Total strength is 388 Stars and 13 WarShips. However, despite their small size and light weight, one should not under-estimate the caliber of these warriors. It has long been a military maxim that the battle goes to ‘Whoever gets there the fastest with the mostest’—a maxim the Hellions seem to have enshrined.
Clan Jade Falcon
Second in overall strength only to da Bears, the Falcons field 30 Clusters in 7 Galaxies. Strict traditionalists who value honor and the Martial Code of Kerensky, each Falcon Cluster adheres to the currently accepted Clan standard: 3 OmniMech Trinarys, 1 Elemental Trinary, and 1 OmniFighter Trinary. Each Galaxy also has a Command Star of 5 OmniMechs. Total force strength is 543 Stars and 23 WarShips. The Falcons are aggressive and bold Warriors of the Clans, who are quick to take offense at perceived slights. They will only seldom break zell, and then only under orders. Bold and proud, the Falcons see themselves as what all Clans should aspire to.
Clan Nova Cat
Fielding 26 Clusters in 6 Galaxies, the Nova Cats are a powerful clan. Featuring fewer Elementals than other Clan forces would, they have roughly a third greater Aerospace assets. Each Cluster consists of 3 OmniMech trinarys, one Elemental binary, and two OmniFighter binarys. In addition, each Cluster is led by a command Keshik consisting of one OmniMech binary, one Elemental binary, and one OmniFighter binary. Total strength is 497 Stars and 33 WarShips.
Clan Smoke Jaguar
Easily the most aggressive and violent Clan, the Smoke Jaguars field a very powerful Toumen with 28 Clusters organized in 7 Galaxies. Weak in Elemental and Aerospace assets, the Jaguars field the most OmniMechs of any Clan—and tend to prefer heavier models. Each Cluster consists of four OmniMech trinarys, one Elemental binary, and one independent OmniFighter Star. Each of the seven Galaxies is assigned a Command Keshik. In addition to these seven, two more are assigned to the Khan and saKhan. Each of these nine command units consists of 1 OmniMech Trinary, 1 Elemental Trinary, and 1 OmniFighter Binary. Total force strength is 563 Stars and 21 WarShips.
Clan Snow Raven
One of the smallest Clans, the Ravens are the most powerful in terms of raw Naval strength. Fielding 40 WarShips, the deterrence imposed by their Fleet often ends fights before they truly begin. The main fighting arm of the Clan fields 21 Clusters in 5 Galaxies. The Corvus Keshik is the command formation of the entire Clan, and uses the standard Clan organization (3 OmniMech trinarys, 1 Elemental trinary, 1 OmniFighter trinary) as do the Battle and Striker Clusters. The Phalanx Clusters field five mixed trinarys, each consisting of one OmniMech star, one Elemental star, and one OmniFighter star. Finally, the Raven Wing Clusters consist of five trinarys of OmniFighters. Total force strength is 460 Stars and 40 WarShips.
Clan Star Adder
After gaining the remnants of Clan Burrock and spending the last decade rebuilding shattered forces, the Adders have emerged as a major player among the Clans. Fielding 27 Clusters in 5 Galaxies, only the Smoke Jaguars can match the sheer numbers of OmniMechs deployed by this Clan. Each Cluster consists of a Command Star of OmniMechs, three OmniMech trinarys, one Nova Binary, and one Aerospace Binary. In addition, the five Galaxies are led by a command unit consisting of one OmniMech Binary and a Nova Binary. Seen as upstarts by the Falcons and Jaguars, the Adders are known for their use of unconventional (for Clan) techniques that hearken back to the old SLDF training manuals. Many Adders will act in most unClan-like behavior on the field of battle; if it means victory. This is one of the few Clans that actively studies strategy and not just tactics. Total force strength is 563 Stars and 28 WarShips.
Clan Steel Viper
Famous for their brutal training regime, the Vipers are widely acclaimed for producing some of the fiercest warriors of all the Clans. At 26 Clusters in 5 Galaxies, they are also a fairly large Clan. Each of their Clusters uses the traditional standard Clan formation (3 OmniMech trinarys, 1 Elemental trinary, 1 OmniFighter trinary), without any independent Cluster or Galaxy command formations. Total force strength is 437 Stars with 15 WarShips.
Clan Wolf
Last, but certainly not least, we come to Clan Wolf. One of the leaders of Clan society since Nicolas Kerensky pledged his Bloodname to the Clan, it has provided many of the great advances in Clan society and culture. Capable of fielding 28 Clusters in 7 Galaxies, only the Falcons, Bears, Adders, and Jaguars can claim greater numbers of troops. Each Cluster consists of 2 OmniMech Trinarys, 1 Nova Binary, 1 Elemental trinary, and 1 OmniFighter Binary. In addition, each Galaxy has a command Keshik consisting of 1 OmniMech Binary (typically support units, such as Nagas), two mixed command stars (2 OmniMechs, 10 Elementals, and 2 OmniFighters each), and one mixed command star (4 OmniMechs and 2 OmniFighters). Total force strength is 514 Stars and 19 WarShips.
Well, folks, that is it. I hope you like what I’ve done—be sure to let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions. See you next week.

Hall of the Khans
Strana Mechty
Kerensky Cluster
“Yes, Khan Scott? You wish to add something to these proceedings?†Leo Showers, ilKhan of the Clans rather sourly asked as he was interrupted by the Goliath Scorpion Khan.
Khan Scott bowed towards the floor of the chamber to where Showers stood along with Elias Crichell, the senior Khan of the Jade Falcons. “I would indeed, my ilKhan. Over four weeks ago, we met in this very Hall and discussed and debated what our actions should be in response the captured Inner Sphere vessel that had found the Home Worlds. At that time, we, sitting in closed session, voted to begin the return to the Inner Sphere; both to prevent any hostile forces there from invading us, and to fulfill the destiny that Nicolas Kerensky himself entrusted to our Founders, and to our Clans.â€
“Most of us—Warden and Crusader alike—agreed that by finding their way to the worlds of the Kerensky Cluster, the time for debate has ended. The time of our Return has come. Not all,†she said, looking across the chamber at Khan Ulric Kerensky of the Wolves, “agreed. In accordance with our laws, a Trial of Refusal was declared and fought. Our brothers and sisters of the Ghost Bears upheld the vote of the Grand Council, though it cost them the lives of their Khan and saKhan to do so.†She bowed towards the two newly elected Ghost Bear Khans, one of whom nodded politely at her in return.
“Yes, yes, yes, Khan Scott. That is all true. Are you speaking merely to recount the events of the past month or do you have a point to make?†Elias Crichell snarled from the floor.
“My point, Khan Crichell, my fellow Khans is this: your plan is either that of a Warrior blinded by his own glory, or else a Traitor. Which one do you prefer, my ilKhan?â€
A roar of protest erupted across the chamber, though Ulric Kerensky just smiled broadly from his seat.
Leo Showers turned red, and then white as he forced himself to remain on the floor, instead of flying at the insolent Scorpion Khan to rend her to pieces as his Clan’s namesake would have done. “You go far too far, Khan Scott,†he whispered.
“Perhaps, ilKhan Showers. But it did serve to get your attention, did it not? You offer the Clans to right to bid on our return; to determine by Trial who shall accompany the invasion force back to the Inner Sphere. Who are you, ilKhan or no, to determine that this invasion shall not contain all of us? By what right do you and Khan Crichell seek to hamstring those chosen to invade by restricting the force they might bring to bear?â€
Before Showers could answer, Scott swept her arm across the chamber. “We are all Khans of the Clans of Nicolas Kerensky. This destiny belongs to us all, not to a chosen few. WE are the generation of the Return. When we undertook Klondike and returned to the Pentagon, Nicolas did not allow us to bid for the right to assault Dagda or Eden, Arcadia or Babylon. No. He did his DUTY as ilKhan and assigned us our tasks. ALL OF US. By taking this action, ilKhan, you are condemning those twelve Clans who do not make your cut to mediocrity and stagnation. You will deprive Warriors of the Clans the right to return which our Founder himself gave us a solemn duty to keep and uphold.â€
A murmur went through the hall as the Khans considered her words.
“You are mistaken, Khan of the Scorpions, if you believe that your words will change our plans,†Showers growled. “We bid for all manners of Trials—including Annihilations and Absorptions, which I may add, you risk for your disregard of our ways.â€
“A threat, ilKhan? You shall find I do not threaten easily, and your words do not sway me on this matter. If you and Elias Crichell do this—bid for the right to invade, to take part in your Operation Revival—it is you, Leo Showers, that will be found guilty by this Council; guilty of genocide against an entire generation of Clan Warriors!â€
“Are you mad, woman?†Showers shouted, as the voices of twenty-nine other Khans erupted in protest.
“My Khans, by forcing us to bid against one another—contrary to how the Founder himself conducted our actions in Klondike, which is the only other example of our united action in history, he condemns those warriors left behind—those Clans he deems unworthy—to languish in obscurity, while a handful of warriors, a mere fourth-part of our Clans garner unto themselves glory and add to their codex. By denying us the right that the Founder gave to us, the duty to one day return, he acts against the very man who created us and our traditions. By forcing us to bid, and to cut down our bids, he is throwing nine-tenths of our force to the side.â€
“Yes, the people of the Inner Sphere are barbarians. Yes, we are the Children of Kerensky, the Heirs of the Star League Defense Forces. Yes, our technology is far, far advanced over those who squat on the planets from which we were driven into exile. But this warrior, this ilKhan, seeks to deny you FOREVER that which the Founder declared to be self-evident; that one day the Clans, in all their might and majesty, would return and set those who remained behind to right. My Khans,†she lowered her head and her voice. “My Khans, this matter is too important to deny any true Clan the right to participate. I would ask that we vote upon this matter; aff to force the ilKhan to lead as Nicolas Kerensky led almost two centuries ago, or neg to carry out his plan as written.â€
She sat at her desk and closed her eyes. For a long moment only silence filled the chamber, and then Khan N’Buta of the Adders stood. “I second the motion, my ilKhan. Let us vote, let us act as the Founder did, let the barbarians tremble at our approach. Call the vote, Leo Showers, call the vote.â€
Just a few brief words of what might have happened. Why should just four Clans (of seventeen, not sixteen) get the right to return, and no one else does? It would seem to me, that the other twelve (or thirteen) would object quite loudly to being excluded. Why did not one Khan argue as I have Scott doing here? Just some fodder for your thoughts.
Takiro Re: Revisting Revival: A Look at What it Could Have Been « Reply #3 on: April 17, 2009, 04:00:53 PM »I concur on your conclusion as we discussed Master Arminas and a fine chapter.
blacktigeractual Re: Revisting Revival: A Look at What it Could Have Been « Reply #4 on: April 17, 2009, 07:37:26 PM » Kiss the Inner Sphere goodbye

The inclusion of the Horses and the Scorpies alone changes things, the Horses combined arms experience and liberal interpretation of Zellbringen would cause a lot of trouble while the Goliath Scorpions did help train the Wolf Dragoons so have some realization of the IS style of combat. Add to that the ability to bring thier full force to bear without the distinction between first and second line troops...Ouch. The full might of the Clans would simply sweep away thier opposition initially and probably take Terra.
My counter to balance the Clans...If the Tech base is not heavily upgraded on the Sucessor States side; ie Star League tech and sizable WarShip fleets; the use of WMDs on a massive scale would seem to be the only answer. Which would naturally invite reprisals.
Then again if we look at a real world model of how a supposedly conquered populace acts, well the Clans no matter how you sum it up cannot effectivly garrison any of the more heavily populated worlds. Those savashri Spheroids don't just roll over and accept the new order like good meek Clan civvies.
Any way thats my thoughts.
Takiro Re: Revisting Revival: A Look at What it Could Have Been « Reply #5 on: April 17, 2009, 07:46:47 PM »You could counter balance the Clans strength by stepping up ComStar's role or strengthening the IS alliance.

You have done a terrible thing though; introduced logic into an illogical system. I like it.

Inner Sphere: Face the Wrath of the Children of Kerensky.
Indeed.
Once again well written stuff master arminas. I'm impressed.
As for suggestions(or in this case questions Wink):
How many invasion corridors do you want to have?
Only the original four?
E.g. FedCom, FedCom/FRR, FRR/DC and DC?
Thus several Clans have to be assigned to a corridor which could have interesting results depending on which Clans are assigned to a common invasion corridor.
Or will each Clan have it's own corridor?
Then the number of invasion corridors has to be increased(or the size of the corridor dramatically decreased).
This begs the question: Which Successor and Periphery states will be affected? The same as in canon or different?
For example: Would the invasion corridors stretch from the Circinus Federation via the FRR to the Outworlds Alliance, thus spanning the "northern" half of the Inner Sphere?
Oh and before I forget, Garrison Clusters should be employed by the Clans after the invasion of the Inner Sphere.
And last but not least:
I for one hope you will continue with this story. Smiley
Ciao
Hessian
P.S.: I noticed some Cluster nicknames I am unfamiliar with. E.g. "The Immortals" for the Jaguar Grenadiers. Is this a canon nickname or one that you came up with master arminas?
master arminas Re: Revisting Revival: A Look at What it Could Have Been « Reply #10 on: April 21, 2009, 03:02:16 PM »For some Clusters I could not find a 'canon' name. The Blood Spirits apparently do not designate any Cluster with a name: it gets its official designation and that is it. For the others, if I did not have a name, I winged it. The Jaguar Grenadiers, I nicknamed 'The Immortals' after the Persian Immortals, seen most recently in the movie 300. The real-life Immortals were ruthless, deadly soldiers that frightened everyone. So it seemed to fit the Jag Grenadiers. LOL
I am thinking of each Clan beginning the invasion with one Galaxy, plus a second in reserve. The corridors will be smaller, but there will be eight of them. Two Clans will share one corridor, bidding upon the worlds of that corridor for each successive wave. Unlike canon, the IlKhan will not assign Clans to the corridors: it will be up each Clan to determine with whom it shares. For example, given the closeness between Wolf and Scorpion, they will likely share a corridor. The same with Adder and Cobra. The Khans will have to chose who they dislike the least.
I can easily see the assigned forces increase by one or two more Galaxies, especially after veteran IS troops begin to appear.
What are your thoughts?
muttley Re: Revisting Revival: A Look at What it Could Have Been « Reply #11 on: April 21, 2009, 03:18:13 PM » Maybe some of the Clans have particular grudges vs the Periphery Realms based on events during the War- ie the 11th Battle Cluster's forbearers the 11th Battle Regiment of the 146th Royal 'Mech Division were victims of a war crime by the Taurians on XX world and the Cluster requests permission to conquer the world to settle the debt.
If the Clans timed their movements, the Houses could be really confused with reports of unknown raiders hitting all sorts of places while the main invasion corridors are being steamrollered. This would also dilute each Clans holdings- making many more opportunities for Clans to strike at each other as in the Kerensky Cluster worlds.
D-Day is now set for 17 FEB 3051 to allow units to move.
Assuming the unit move through uninhabited systems, what happens if IE expeditions, prospectors, and unknown colonies etc... start bumping into these units?

Like in the official timeline, taking them as bondsmen.
For the corridors apart from good strategical thinking (though shall not split your forces too far away from each other), I do not see why the Clans could not invade from different directions (though shall confuse your opponents).
What about ComStar? Would they be used by the Clans like in the official timeline or not?

Tactics? Why mess up a good wargame with tactics? Think of the chaos in the IS when clanners are popping up everywhere...

Let the nukes fly. I would be interesting to see how the clans deal with WMD's used on a truly massive scale. Imagine the anilihation of multiple Galaxies and thier attendant fleets by the FedCom who at least have the nuclear cappacity of the US. Might actually give the IS a chance if the Houses don't back down. (ie: No matter what the Clanners do everywhere they go they are met with atomics, gas, biowar.) After all thier supply lines are way too long as it is and it takes a long time to set up new IS based ones when the tech base is so inferior.
