its been a while since i last posted . i've noticed in quite a few design specs the use of 1st class , 2nd class , 3rd class and steerage class for quarters,
can anyone give me a rough breakdown in the size difference in each of these rooms .
the reason i'm asking is i've been looking at the different stateroom sizes available on amtrak , then i watched a video on the french carrier de Gaul where all staterooms are either 1 or 2 man rooms( officer or enlisted) .
i'm doing some tweeking on my designs , and any help or suggestions would be helpful .

my understanding is that 1st class is a 1 man room, 2nd class is 2 man room and steerage is essentially barracks. I don't think 3rd class is a thing in the BT construction rules.
Exact volumes and layouts would no doubt vary.

I'd say quarters are on gravity decks where they can so I'll base my assumptions on that
1st Class - single double bed, small desk with personal computer personal shower room/head
2nd class - double bunk, small desk shared computer, shared shower/head
Steerage - two double bunks per room, shared desk and shower head facilities between several rooms (think aircraft carrier style)
Carried craft spaces - in zero g areas (cargo/bay areas) these are essentially sleeping bags attached to the wall with shared head facilities

Rooms would also depend on seniority/rank
Captain/XO/CAG/Chief engineer etc would get one man rooms and pretty much so would things like department heads, squadron leaders etc.
I'd say that most crew would get like a 2nd class kind of room, call it 4 to a room in two double bunks, probably space for their own computers/pads as well as some personal belongings. A group of 4 of these such quarters would then in turn share shower/sinks etc (I see the SLDF not really being one to segregate genders so it would be like we saw on BSG with unisex facilities).
Messing for the crew would probably be a mess hall type affair with separate eating areas available for officers, but again this depends on the ship in question due to their size. A Frigate or corvette's crew would probably eat all together. Especially the Frigates as they were long service ships and it would be a thing for morale to have no major separation between officers and crew on them.
Certain classes, probably almost exclusively battleships or major command vessels like a big fleet carrier would have quarters for an Admiral and his/her Staff as well and this would probably be first class, with the Admiral's quarters being two first class rooms combined into one.
