Title: The Clans Reimagined: A Look at 3048 and the Clans as they Should Have Been
Post by: masterarminas on January 08, 2014, 04:08:15 PM
I've been working on this for some time now.  You have already seen (in my Lords of the Isles development thread) the bare-bones of this revamping of the Clans; but today I post the final Toumans.  As we have already discussed in that thread, I view the very small size of some clans (a third the strength of others!) as troublesome.  You have HUGE Clans and then very weak ones that could not possibly resist an Absorption.  And with Clan society being as it was portrayed, some of them should have been absorbed.

Another problem was the haphazard manner in which garrison forces were handled.  Some Clans had them; others (which needed them) did not.  What I have tried to do here is to present the Clans as I think that they should have been.  The strong Clans are still powerhouses, but now the reader is no longer left wondering why the smaller and weaker Clans weren't targets of Absorption or Annihilation.  To do this, I have increased the size and potency of some Clans, while whittling down a few others to a more appropriate (in my opinion) size.  I hope that you will enjoy the effort and feel free to use it as you wish.

One more thing.  I have cut WarShip strength even further than I did in LotI.  There are no 'naval caches' in the Clans . . . despite their portrayal, Clan Warriors are not stupid.  Their founders saw what even ill-trained and barely capable WarShips were capable of in Klondike, so in THIS universe, the Clans have scuttled all of their older SLDF WarShips not on active duty.  Weapons from those ships form the core of the Homeworlds ground-based SDS systems.  Still, there are 177 WarShips left in the Toumans, so we still have at hand.

So, having said all of that . . . where do we stand in strength?  Well, going purely by 'Mech forces, the combined Clans, fielding 100% of their front-line and second-line forces, are VERY close in strength to the Federated Commonwealth.  Perhaps a wee bit stronger, but that is okay.  Barring some unforeseen catastrophe of EPIC proportions, they won't be deploying 100% of their Touman in Revival.

And I couldn't find Khans, saKhans, and Loremasters for every Clan in 3048 . . . so some are made up.

Well, let's get to it, shall we?

MA

EDIT:  I have an Excel spreadsheet with all of the data, but I cannot attach it.  If you want it, send me a PM with your e-mail address and I will get it to you.

Blood Spirit Touman Organization and Overview
Each Cluster (with one exception) in the Blood Spirit Touman is rigorously structured for complete compliance with the words of Nicholas Kerensky.  Each consists of three Trinary of BattleMechs or OmniMechs, one Trinary of Vehicles, and one Trinary of Infantry—although in the case of the last formation, the Spirits have allowed themselves to replace the Conventional Infantry Trinary still found in Garrison Clusters with Elemental Trinary formations in their front-line units.  To deal with the lack of integral aerospace fighter assets, the Spirits have assigned a York-class Destroyer/Carrier to each of their three front-line Galaxies, and a fourth such vessel to their Blood Guard Keshik.

The Blood Spirits field Assault Clusters (assault and heavy ‘Mechs and vehicles), Battle Clusters (predominately heavy and medium ‘Mechs and vehicles), and Vanguard Clusters (predominately medium and light ‘Mechs and vehicles).  The four Guard Clusters (Blood Guard, Red Guard, Vermillion Guard, and Scarlet Guard) are all built on built on the model of the Battle Clusters, as are the 7th Blood Drinkers Cluster.  The Blood Hussars Clusters varies from the Vanguard Clusters in name only.

The final Cluster is a pure aerospace fighter formation.  The 188th Aerospace Cluster (Blood Angels) contains five Trinarys with only OmniFighters and Aerospace Fighters assigned, for a total of 150 fighters.  Aerospace Fighter support is assigned to various units on an as needed basis from the 188th.

Naval assets consist of the four York-class Destroyers and the Blood Letter Naval Star, with the remaining four WarShips of the Blood Spirit Naval Reserve.  The Nightlord-class Battleship Carmine Justice (flagship of the Blood Spirit Fleet) now serves the Clan as a heavy carrier—the one hundred former ‘Mech bays have been converted into fighter bays while the twenty fighter bays now serve twenty small craft.  The Marine Elemental complement has been retained, specializing in boarding actions.

Every front-line Cluster is provided with five DropShips (three Union-C class, one Triumph-C class, and one Sassanid class) and a Voyager-class JumpShip (a 485,000 ton JumpShip with an HPG and lithium-fusion batteries, plus 6 docking collars).  The spare docking collar is normally used for a cargo ship for added munitions or supplies, although sometimes an Assault DropShip is carried instead.  The Crimson Guard Garrison Clusters and both Solahma Clusters are assigned three DropShips (Overlord-C, Triumph-C, and Sassanid); while the Crimson Guard lack integral interstellar transport, both Solahma Clusters are assigned a Discovery-class JumpShip (a 280,000 ton design that includes an HPG, lithium-fusion batteries, and three docking collars).  In addition, the Solahma are equipped with Elementals instead of the conventional infantry found within the Blood Spirit Garrison forces.

The 188th Fighter Wing is instead assigned fifteen Carrier class DropShips, each of which is provided with their own Aggressor-class JumpShip (a 160,000 ton JumpShip with an HPG and lithium-fusion batteries, plus 2 docking collars) with the second collar used for a cargo ship with additional fuel, parts, and munitions.

The Spirit Merchant Fleet is very small compared to most Clans, however; one of the reasons that in recent years the Clan has abandoned all of their enclaves outside of their capital of York, their holdings on Arcadia, and the enclave on Strana Mechty.  The Spirits maintain an active merchant fleet of just 5 Voyager-class, 25 Odyssey-class, and 20 Discovery-class JumpShips. An additional 5 Voyagers and 15 Odysseys are in mothballed reserve.

As a whole, the Clan can field 8 WarShips, 103 JumpShips (26 Voyager, 40 Odyssey, 22 Discovery, and 15 Aggressor) (with total docking collars available for 426 DropShips), 133 military DropShips (including 16 Assault DropShips), 1710 BattleMechs and OmniMechs, 1140 vehicles, 490 OmniFighters and Aerospace Fighters, 2050 Elemental Infantry, and 7500 Conventional Infantry.

Burrock Touman Organization and Overview
Clan Burrock organizes its front line Clusters for offensive operations and its second line/garrison Clusters for defense.  Each front-line Cluster (along with the Iron Spine Keshik and the Omega Solahma Cluster) is built around a Command Binary of 10 OmniMechs, a Trinary of 15 OmniMechs, two Supernova Binarys each with 10 OmniMechs and 50 Elementals, and one Fighter Binary with 20 OmniFighters.  The second-line/garrison Clusters have a Command Binary of 10 BattleMechs, two Trinarys of 10 BattleMechs and 10 vehicles each, two Trinarys of 10 vehicles and 250 conventional infantry each, and a Star of 10 Aerospace Fighters.

Front line Clusters are divided into the Burrock Guards (and the Iron Spike Keshik) which field heavy and assault-weight OmniMechs and OmniFighters, the mainstay Combat Clusters (including the Burrock Omega Solahma Cluster) which are primarily comprised of medium and heavy weight designs, and Striker Clusters with light and medium designs.  The second line/garrison Burrock Defenders Clusters include light, medium, and heavy ‘Mechs, Fighters, and vehicles in their numbers—but no assault-weight units.

In addition to the line Clusters, each front line Galaxy has a Command Trinary built around a Star of Heavy OmniMechs and a Binary of Artillery OmniMechs.

Front line Clusters (and the Solahma Cluster) are provided with six DropShips (four Union-C class, two of which are modified to replace one Star of OmniMechs with two Stars of Elementals, and two Carrier class) and two Odyssey-class JumpShips, with the remaining two docking collars normally used for one cargo vessel and one Assault DropShip.  Second line/garrison Clusters have the same number of DropShips (five Union-C class, with three modified, and one Carrier class), but only Iota Provisional Galaxy is assigned dedicated JumpShips—two Odyssey-class just as with the front line forces.

The Galaxy Command Trinarys are provided with a Union-C class DropShip and are also based aboard one of the reliable and rugged Odyssey-class JumpShips.  The spare docking collars always carry at least one Assault DropShip and one cargo vessel; the final vessel is either an additional Assault ship or a cargo ship depending on the specific needs of the Galaxy in question.

Clan naval assets are divided into two separate Stars, whose mission is to support the front line Galaxies and defend Burrock possessions; these Naval Stars only seldom see combat.  However, the Nightlord-class Absolute Truth (flagship of the Burrock Fleet) carries a Fast Reaction Galaxy (Delta) with two Clusters of Burrock Marines, front-line troops each equipped with 45 OmniMechs and 150 Elementals each, and a Galaxy Command Supernova of 10 OmniMechs and 50 Elementals.  In addition to this force, the Burrock battleship retains another 150 Elementals and 20 OmniFighters for its own defense.   The Burrock Marine Clusters are comprised of all classes of OmniMechs, from light to assault.

While the Burrocks may lack WarShip transport assets, they do have a fairly sizeable Merchant caste Fleet.  Active duty vessels include ten Voyager-class, ten Odyssey-class, twenty Discovery-class, and twenty Aggressor-class JumpShips.  In addition to these sixty JumpShips, the Burrocks retain another ten Voyagers, twenty Odysseys, and ten Discoverys in their Reserve Cache at their capital of Albion.

Altogether, Clan Burrock can field 8 WarShips, 145 JumpShips (20 Voyager, 75 Odyssey, 30 Discovery, and 20 Aggressor) (with total docking collars available for 562 DropShips), 244 military DropShips (including 45 Assault DropShips), 1390 OmniMechs and BattleMechs, 640 Vehicles, 680 OmniFighters and Aerospace Fighters, 2400 Elemental Infantry, and 8000 Conventional Infantry.

Cloud Cobra Touman Organization and Overview
The Cloud Cobras are unabashedly an aerospace fighter heavy Touman, relying upon heavy fighter support and skilled pilots to deter other, larger and more powerful, Clans.  That does not mean that the Cobras lack an effective ground force, only that the ground arm of the Cobra Touman is relatively lighter than other Clans choose to field.  Indeed, the Cobras currently field the smallest Touman of any of the Clans.

Cobra front line Clusters are arranged as heavy-weight Battle Clusters (including the two Keshiks), a single Grenadier Cluster (the only assault-weight formation within the Cobra Touman), Dragoon Clusters built around light, medium, and heavy-weight ‘Mechs, supported by Elementals and Fighters, and fast-moving light-to-medium weight Striker Clusters.  In addition, each Galaxy is assigned one of the six Cobra Fighter Wings—a Cluster formation comprised solely of Omni- and Aerospace Fighters.

The Battle Cluster, both Keshiks, the Cobra Grenadiers Cluster, and the five Striker Clusters are all configured identically, differing only in the weight of their equipment:  each contains three Trinary of OmniMechs, one Trinary of Elementals, and one Trinary of OmniFighters.  The Cobra Grenadiers field heavy and assault-weight elements; the Battle Clusters and Keshiks medium and heavy-weight elements; and the Striker Clusters light and medium-weight elements.  Transport consists of a Voyager-class JumpShip and six DropShips (three Union-C class, one Sassanid class, one Charybdis class [what becomes known as the Miraborg class in canon], and one cargo vessel.  The sole Cobra Solahma Reserve Cluster is organized along these lines, but fields older BattleMechs and Aerospace Fighters in place of OmniMechs and OmniFighters.

The five Dragoon Clusters are organized differently.  Each Dragoon Cluster fields three Supernovas built around 10 light, medium, and heavy-weight OmniMechs and 50 Elementals, supported by a Trinary of OmniFighters (with a star each of light, medium, and heavy Fighters).  Each Dragoon Cluster is assigned one Odyssey-class JumpShip for transport, with three modified Union-C class and one Charybdis class DropShip.

The six Cobra Fighter Wings are assigned one to each Galaxy (front line or garrison).  Each consists of five Trinary of OmniFighters (front line) or Aerospace Fighters (second line/garrison).  Each Fighter Wing (front line and second line/garrison) has been assigned five Aggressor-class JumpShips, five Charybdis-class DropShips, and five cargo vessels for transport and supply.

Second line/garrison formations consist of a dozen Cobra Guards Clusters, supported by three Cobra Fighter Wings.  The Cobra Guards Clusters are built for defense, with two Trinary of BattleMechs, a Trinary of combat vehicles, a Trinary of 10 combat vehicles and 250 conventional infantry, and a Trinary of Aerospace Fighters.  The weight of the Cobra Guards varies between light, medium, and heavy, but assault-weight elements are noticeably absent from these formations.  None of the second-line/garrison Cobra Guards Clusters are assigned a JumpShip, but each has two Union-C, one Triumph-C, one Lion, and one Charybdis-class DropShips provided.

In addition to its conventional assets, each front line Galaxy has a York-class Destroyer/Carrier assigned to it; providing additional aerospace support.  The remainder of the Cobra’s Fleet is divided into two Naval Stars:  one for offensive actions and the second for transport.  The Cobra Merchant Fleet favors smaller JumpShips and retains 1 Voyager-class (merchant flagship), 5 Odyssey-class, 20 Discovery-class, and 20 Aggressor-class on active duty, with an additional 10 Odyssey-class, 10 Discovery-class, and 10 Aggressor-class in mothballs at the Clan Naval Reserve Cache over Homer.

The Cobras are thus able to field 10 WarShips, 101 JumpShips (11 Voyager-class, 20 Odyssey-class, 30 Discovery-class, 40 Aggressor-class) (with total docking collars available for 380 DropShips), 192 military DropShips (including 24 Assault DropShips), 960 OmniMechs and BattleMechs, 480 Vehicles, 1960 OmniFighters and Aerospace Fighters, 1825 Elementals, and 3000 Conventional Infantry.

Coyote Touman Organization and Overview
Although no longer the powerhouse that they were during the Golden Century (relatively), the Coyotes remain a force that is not advisable to trifle with.  In recent years, the Clan has stagnated and stopped expanding, even to the point of losing their enclave on New Kent and having to disband two Galaxies.  However, those losses spurred the Clan into a momentous wake-up, and while they haven’t (yet) expanded their Touman, the Coyotes have spent the past decade rebuilding and reorganizing their strength.

The Coyotes use a uniform organization throughout their front line Clusters, differing only in weight.  Assault Clusters field heavy and assault weight design; Battle Clusters and the Keshiks field medium and heavy weight designs; Strike Clusters field light and medium weight designs.  Each Cluster is comprised of a Command Star of five OmniMechs, two Trinary with fifteen OmniMechs each, a Supernova Trinary with fifteen OmniMechs and 75 Elementals, and a Binary of twenty OmniFighters, for a total strength of 50 OmniMechs, 75 Elementals, and 20 OmniFighters.  Each Cluster is assigned a Traveler-class JumpShip for transport, along with five DropShips:  two Union-C class, two Carrier class, and one modified Overlord-C class that serves as the Cluster Headquarters and carries the Command Star, Supernova Trinary, and additional parts and munitions for the entire Cluster.  The three Coyote Solahma Clusters are built on this model (including transport assets), but are assigned older BattleMechs and Aerospace Fighters rather than OmniMechs and OmniFighters.

The second line/garrison forces are built around a Command Star of five BattleMechs, two Trinary with fifteen BattleMechs each, two Trinary with 10 vehicles and 250 conventional infantry each, and one Binary of twenty Aerospace Fighters.  This gives each Cluster of Coyote Regulars a force of 35 BattleMechs, 20 vehicles, 500 conventional infantry, and 20 Aerospace Fighters.  Second line/garrison forces consist of mostly medium and heavy designs, but assault weight units are not unknown.  The only difference in transport is that the Overlord-C has been modified to transport 5 BattleMechs, 20 vehicles, and 500 conventional infantry; Clan Coyote is one of the few Clans that provides all of its garrison forces with their own permanently assigned JumpShips.

The Coyote Naval Reserve is organized into two Naval Stars:  one transport flotilla and a powerful task force built around the battleship Ancestral Home (the Coyote Flagship).  Each docking collar on all but the Potemkin-class vessels are filled with an assortment of Assault DropShips; and both Potemkins carry five as well, reserving the remaining twenty collars for other DropShips (military or civilian) as needed.  The Coyote Merchant Fleet is rather uniform; early in the Golden Century, the Khans of Clan Coyote decided to design and construct the Traveler-class JumpShip (a 415,000 ton JumpShip with an HPG, Lithium-Fusion Batteries, and five docking collars).  This design has replaced all others in their military and civilian Fleets.  The Merchants field 69 Travelers on active duty and have an additional 20 mothballed in the Naval Reserve Cache orbiting Tamaron.

Total Coyote forces are thus 8 WarShips, 128 JumpShips (128 Traveler-class) (with total docking collars available for 700 DropShips), 215 military DropShips (including 20 Assault DropShips), 1710 OmniMechs and BattleMechs, 320 Vehicles, 880 OmniFighters and Aerospace Fighters, 2050 Elementals, and 8000 conventional infantry.

Diamond Shark Touman Organization and Overview
Although there are some who deride the Diamond Sharks as the 'merchant Clan', they remain accomplished (and lethal) Warriors.  Their sharp business dealings are backed up by deadly formations well able to hold their own against any of the Clans of Kerensky.

The Diamond Sharks diverge from more traditional Cluster formations, hosting a disparity of units and being over strength compared to other Clans.  But this gives the Sharks options when they must resort to combat that other Clans frequently do not have.  Diamond Shark front line Clusters are built around eighteen Stars, whereas a ‘normal’ Cluster has fifteen:  a Command Star with 5 OmniMechs, two Trinary with 15 OmniMechs, two Supernova Binary each with 10 OmniMechs and 50 Elementals, and a Trinary with 30 Aerospace Fighters, giving each Shark front line Cluster a strength of 55 OmniMechs, 100 Elementals, and 30 OmniFighters.  Each Cluster has five Union-C class (two standard, two modified for the Supernovas, and one modified as a Cluster command ship for the Command Star) and one Charybdis class DropShips.  Both of the Clans Solahma Clusters are organized in the same fashion, but are assigned older BattleMechs and Aerospace Fighters rather than cutting Omni-units.

All front-line Clusters except for the Diamond Skate (the Clan’s Command Keshik) and the 1st Marine Elemental Cluster are assigned a single Voyager-class JumpShip for transport.  The Diamond Skate is embarked aboard the Clan Flagship, the Nightlord-class Terror of the Deep, modified for five docking collars.  In addition, the Terror of the Deep has had the internal ‘Mech deployment bays removed for an extensive Clan Command facility.  The flagship still carries a full complement of 500 Elemental Marines (organized as the 1st Marine Elemental Cluster, with six Trinary of 75 Elementals each and a command Binary of 50 Elementals), however, and expands the fighter complement from 20 to 30, while adding 10 Small Craft that can be used to quickly deliver the Elemental force from the ship to the surface if the Diamond Skate needs reinforcements.

Second line/garrison Clusters differ slightly.  Each contains three Trinary built around 10 BattleMechs and 10 combat vehicles, two Infantry Trinary with 10 combat vehicles, 125 Conventional Infantry, and 25 Elementals each, and one Aerospace Trinary with 30 Aerospace Fighters.  Transport is three Lion class DropShips (rebuilt to handle 10 BattleMechs and 10 vehicles), 2 newly built Seeker-C DropShips (for each Infantry Trinary), and one Charybdis class DropShip.  Unlike most other Clans, every second line/garrison Cluster is supplied with their own Voyager-class JumpShip for strategic mobility.

On paper, the Shark Naval Reserve is quite powerful, with fifteen WarShips organized into four Stars.  However, a full forty percent of that number consists of Troop Cruisers and Transports which support the Clan’s Merchant caste by moving supplies and equipment across the Kerensky Cluster.  The Shark Merchant Fleet is the single largest among the Clans, with over 220 active duty and reserve JumpShips.  The active duty fleet contains 5 Wanderer-class (500,000 design with an HPG, Lithium-Fusion Batteries, and seven docking collars), 10 Voyager-class, 20 Traveler-class, 30 Odyssey-class, 30 Discovery-class, 30 Aggressor-class, and 20 Hunter-class, for a total of 143 JumpShips on active service.  The reserve Fleet mothballed over Delios contains an additional 80 ships:  5 Wanderer-class, 10 Voyager-class, 10 Traveler-class, 10 Odyssey-class, 15 Discovery-class, 15 Aggressor-class, and 15 Hunter-class.

Total strength of the Shark Touman consists of 15 WarShips, 249 JumpShips (10 Wanderer; 54 Voyager; 30 Traveler; 30 Odyssey; 45 Discovery; 45 Aggressor; and 35 Hunter) (with total docking collars available for 1,046 DropShips), 185 military DropShips (including 10 Assault DropShips), 1525 OmniMechs and BattleMechs, 800 Vehicles, 1240 OmniFighters and Aerospace Fighters, 3750 Elementals, and 4000 Conventional Infantry.

The Fire Mandrill Renaissance
The fractious nature and disunity of the various Mandrill Kindraa worried the Khans of the remaining Clans, but it widely recognized that the Mandrills would—could not—accept a solution imposed upon them from without.  What change could come would have to come from within the ranks of the Clan itself . . . which many of the Khans feared was an impossible task.  But that suddenly changed in 3017 when the Mandrills selected Thomas Malone for the rank of Khan.  Malone, a Warrior of a minor Blood-name became the titular head of the Clan, but in reality, it was the Kindraa who retained the authority and power.  Malone was selected because the leaders of the Kindraa viewed him as a weak and easily swayed Warrior, one who would pose no threat to them.  That was their mistake.

Disgusted with the constant bickering and infighting between the Kindraa—including that of his own Mattila-Carrol, Malone set about trying to put aside the differences between the Kindraa.  He was rebuffed at every turn and even threatened with removal from office.

After three years of being stonewalled and blocked at every turn, Khan Malone announced that he was calling for a full Conclave of every Blood-named Warrior of the Mandrills.  To take place in early January of 3021 on Shadow (the Mandrill capital world), this Conclave would determine the future path of the Clan.  Although the Kindraa leaders were shocked that Malone had dared to order such an assembly, they also saw the Conclave as an opportunity to get rid of him.

At the Conclave, Malone made an impassioned argument that the Kindraa were what was keeping the Mandrills from achieving true greatness among the Clans.  He argued for two hours, while many of those Bloodnamed present howled their displeasure—and the Kindraa Leaders smiled knowing that he was done for.  They did not seem to realize that the more discontented Bloodnamed (some two hundred in all) were absent.  At last, the Khan realized that the system could not be changed.  Turning to Joan Lloyd (his saKhan), Malone nodded.  From dozens of entrances, hundreds of armed Mandrill Warriors entered the Conclave.  The Bloodnamed, having been disarmed before entry, stood mute and stunned at the sight.  Shaking his head, Malone said just four soft words that echoed throughout the chamber:  “Let it be done.”  And with that, Lloyd gave the order that massacred the Bloodnamed Warriors of the Kindraa of Clan Fire Mandrill.

Moving quickly, the remaining Bloodnamed, all as eager as Malone and Lloyd at the prospect of restoring their Clan to power, set out and purged the Clan of all of those who owed their first loyalty to the Kindraa rather than to the Clan.  With the bulk of the Kindraa assembled on Shadow for the Conclave, the purge—which caught all of the Mandrills by surprise—was carried out swiftly and without remorse.  In the end, some forty percent of Clan Fire Mandrill died in the seventy-two hours following those four words being uttered.

Khan Malone then addressed the Mandrills who remained on Shadow . . . a full three-quarters of the surviving Warriors.  He announced the end of the Kindraa and a massive reorganization of the Clan that would break their power forever.  And he revealed that he had planned for this event for the past three years, when hundreds of Mandrill free-births, tested as Warriors but assigned to police duties were installed into the Touman.  Moving quickly, hand-picked Cluster loyal to Malone then embarked to Atreus, Dagda, Foster, Marshall, and Strana Mechty where the remaining elements of the Touman were quietly purged.

The secret could not be kept forever, and by the autumn of 3021, Khan Malone and saKhan Lloyd had been summoned to Strana Mechty where his actions were the subject of an emergency meeting of the Grand Council.  Despite significant unease over his actions, a vote on the issued determined that the Mandrill Khan did indeed have the right to declare elements of his own Clan as dezgra and treat with them accordingly.  None of the leading Clans (Jade Falcons and Smoke Jaguars included) wanted to set the precedent that the Grand Council of Khans could deliver judgment on them for purely an internal action.

But that was not the end of it.  The Coyotes launched an assault against Foster where they expected to easily overcome the understrength garrison—but Khan Malone had anticipated that and stationed his best units on Foster.  The assault was defeated with painful losses for the Coyotes, and the other Clans took a second look at the Mandrills that were emerging.

Malone stayed in office until 3044, spending twenty-seven years as Khan before he stepped down, claiming that Revival needed younger blood.  Over that time, he rebuilt his Clan into a powerful force upon which the Crusaders can rely.

Fire Mandrill Touman Organization and Overview
The Mandrills who passed through the Fire on Shadow were reorganized strictly upon traditional lines:  each front-line Cluster consisted of three Trinary of OmniMechs, one Trinary of Elementals, and one Trinary of OmniFighters.  Transport was provided by a single Voyager-class JumpShip and five DropShips (three Union-C class, one Sassanid class, and one Charybdis class).  The sixth docking collar is normally filled with a cargo vessel.

A significant second line/garrison force of five Galaxies has been raised to date:  many of these formations remain second line/garrison solely because the Mandrills lack the number of OmniMechs, Elemental Battle Armor, OmniFighters, and JumpShips to upgrade them at this time.  Each is equipped with two Trinary of BattleMechs, two Trinary of ten vehicles and 250 conventional infantry each, and one Trinary of Aerospace Fighters, with five DropShips (two Union-C, two Triumph-C, and one Charybdis).  Second-line/Garrison Clusters lack integral JumpShip assets and must draw upon the Mandrill Merchant Fleet or the Fire-Eater Naval Star for transport.

The Mandrill Fleet is small, but well motivated and highly trained at the moment.  It is divided into two Stars.  Despite the chronic lack of jump-ship transport, the Mandrills have elected to use their single Potemkin-class Troop Cruiser as a dedicated assault DropShip carrier, delivering twenty-five assault ships to where the Clan needs them.

Unfortunately, the Purge of 3021 caused much of the Merchant caste to abandon the Clan and flee to others for refugee.  Accordingly, the Mandrills have one of the smallest Merchant Fleets in the Homeworlds, with 20 Odyssey-class and 40 Discovery-class.  The Mandrills retain no JumpShips in their Clan Naval Cache at Shadow, having used them to rebuild their Fleet to its current level.

The Mandrills currently have a Touman that includes 8 WarShips, 80 JumpShips (20 Voyager-class, 20 Odyssey-class, 40 Discovery-class) (with total docking collars available for 320 DropShips), 232 military DropShips (including 32 assault DropShips), 1500 OmniMechs and BattleMechs, 400 Vehicles, 1280 OmniFighters and Aerospace Fighters, 1750 Elementals, and 10000 Conventional Infantry.

Ghost Bear Touman Organization and Overview
With forty-eight Clusters divided among a dozen Galaxies, Clan Ghost Bear is one of the most powerful Clans of Kerensky in the present day.  This Clan has slowly, gradually, and cautiously built up their strength over the years—but has never backed down from a fight.  Taking the long view, the Bears examine all issues, but when they make a decision, it is made and they will see it through to the end.

Each front-line Galaxy (and the overall Clan Command HQ) is assigned a Keshik that consists of a Supernova of 10 OmniMechs and 50 Elementals, along with a modified Union-C class DropShip.  Transport consists of an Odyssey-class JumpShip, with two dedicated assault DropShips and the fourth docking collar taken up by a cargo vessel.

Organization of front-line Clusters follows a slightly different pattern than other traditional clans, as befits the Ghost Bear tradition of charting their own course.  Each Cluster has a command Binary of 10 OmniMechs, two Supernova each with 10 OmniMechs and 50 Elementals, one Trinary of 15 OmniMechs, and a Binary of 20 OmniFighters.  This gives a total strength of 45 OmniMechs, 100 Elementals, and 20 OmniFighters.  DropShip transport assets include two modified Overlord-C class vessels (one carrying the Command Binary and OmniMech Trinary, the other with the two Supernova, both with additional cargo space), one modified Charybdis-class fighter carrier (with capacity for 20 fighters and additional fuel/ordnance), and one assault DropShip.  Interstellar transport consists of one Odyssey-class JumpShip.

Unlike every other Clan, the Ghost Bears refuse to designate a unit as ‘solahma’; instead the Ghost Bears prefer to assign aging Warriors in search of death or glory to Trinary/Binary formations within their Clusters.

Second-line/garrison Clusters include a Command Star of 5 BattleMechs, two BattleMech Trinary, two Infantry Trinary with 10 vehicles, 25 Elementals, and 125 Conventional Infantry each, and one Aerospace Fighter Binary, for a total strength of 35 BattleMechs, 20 vehicles, 50 Elementals, 250 Conventional Infantry, and 20 Aerospace Fighters.  Transport assets consist of one Overlord-C class DropShip (both BattleMech Trinary, plus Command Star and Cluster HQ), two Seeker-C class DropShips (each with an Infantry Trinary), and one Charybdis class DropShip modified for 20 fighter bays and greater cargo volume.  These Clusters do not have integral interstellar transport capabilities.

Naval assets consist of just eight ships, including a modified Nightlord-class Battleship, the Ursa Major.  This vessel has removed the internal BattleMech/OmniMech drop bays and storage facilities to install a larger hanger deck able a total of one hundred Aerospace or OmniFighters and twenty small craft; the Elemental marine complement was retained.

The Bears do not have the largest Merchant Fleet, but they possess a respectable one that meets their needs.  Active duty vessels consist of 20 Voyager-class, 20 Traveler-class, and 40 Discovery-class that generally meet the needs of the Bears.  If more JumpShips are required, they hire them; one of the benefits of being a large and powerful Clan.  10 Voyager-class and 10 Traveler-class are kept in reserve mothballs at the Naval Cache orbiting Bearclaw.

Total strength of the Bear Touman is 8 WarShips, 131 JumpShips (30 Voyager-class, 30 Traveler-class, 31 Odyssey-class, and 40 Discovery-class) (with total docking collars available for 584 DropShips), 221 military DropShips (including 46 assault DropShips), 1990 OmniMechs and BattleMechs, 480 Vehicles, 1140 OmniFighters and Aerospace Fighters, 4625 Elementals, and 6000 Conventional Infantry.

Goliath Scorpion Touman Organization and Overview
Smaller than all but one of the Clans of Kerensky, the Goliath Scorpions are a capable combined-arms force, but one that normally avoids conflict with the larger and more powerful Clans as they defend their enclaves without seeking to expand their borders beyond their ability to protect.

There are four types of Scorpion Clusters:  the front line Cuirassier Clusters (assault/heavy formations, including the Knife Dance Cluster/Clan Command Keshik), Dragoon Clusters (heavy/medium formations, including the single Scorpion Solahma Cluster), Hussar Clusters (light/medium formations), and the second line/garrison Gendarme Clusters.

All three types of front line formations are organized exactly the same:  one Trinary Command (12 OmniMechs, 10 Elementals, 2 OmniFighters), two Trinary Assault (10 OmniMechs, 25 Elementals each), one Trinary Battle (5 OmniMechs, 25 Elementals, 10 OmniFighters), and one Trinary Striker (10 OmniMechs, 10 OmniFighters).  All DropShip transport is based on the Scorpion class semi-modular design (6600 tons with a configurable cargo/passenger/troop bay), with each Cluster have five Scorpions assigned, plus one Death Dancer class Assault DropShip.  Interstellar transport consists of one Voyager-class JumpShip.  The Knife Dance Keshik lacks a JumpShip, instead relying on the Liberator-class Cruiser Serket for transport.

In addition, front-line Galaxies are assigned a Command Keshik of two Trinary:  one Command Trinary (with 12 OmniMechs, 10 Elementals, and 2 OmniFighters) and one Battle Trinary (with 5 OmniMechs, 25 Elementals, and 10 OmniFighters).  Upon occasion, the second and third star of the Command Trinary are outfitted with Artillery or Air Defense configured OmniMechs . . . but only when operating against a dezgra opponent or when an honorable opponent includes artillery in their own bid.  Transport is provided by two Scorpion-class DropShips, with a Discovery-class JumpShip assigned as well.  The third docking collar is utilized by an Assault DropShip.  Both the saKhan and the Loremaster are each assigned a Keshik of the same configuration (the Deathstalker and Scorpion’s Wisdom Keshiks, respectively).

The Gendarme Clusters (second line/garrison forces) are built around two Binary of BattleMechs, a mixed Trinary of 10 BattleMechs and 10 combat vehicles, two Infantry Trinary (each with 10 vehicles, 25 Elementals, and 125 Conventional Infantry), and one Binary of Aerospace Fighters.  Transport is six Scorpion class DropShips; JumpShips are not normally assigned to garrison forces.

With ten WarShips, the Scorpions maintain a solid Fleet, although three of the vessels are either troop cruisers or transports.  Assets are organized into one Battle Star (with a McKenna-class battleship, two Congress-class Frigates, and two Lola III-class Destroyers) and a Support Star (with two Potemkin-class Troop Cruisers, a Volga-class Transport, and an Essex-class Destroyer), plus the Clan Flagship Serket which operates independently.

Maintaining an average Merchant Fleet, the Scorpions have 3 Voyager-class, 20 Odyssey-class, 14 Discovery-class, and 20 Aggressor-class JumpShips on active duty.  Reserve ships consist of 10 Odyssey-class and 10 Discovery-class kept in mothballs at the Clan Naval Cache orbiting Roche.

The Scorpion Touman fields a total strength of 10 WarShips, 100 JumpShips (20 Voyager-class, 30 Odyssey-class, 30 Discovery-class, and 20 Aggressor-class) (with total docking collars available for 440 DropShips), 237 military DropShips (including 44 Assault DropShips), 1398 OmniMechs and BattleMechs, 450 vehicles, 918 OmniFighters and Aerospace Fighters, 2890 Elementals, and 3750 Conventional Infantry.

Hell’s Horses Touman Organization and Overview
Unique among their Clans for the acceptance of the role of combat vehicles in front line formations (while the Blood Spirits make use of vehicles in front-line units, they are viewed very differently by those Warriors than the point-of-view taken by the Horses), the powerful Horse Touman is difficult for many Clans to combat.  While they possess fewer BattleMechs and OmniMechs than any other Clan except for the Cloud Cobras, they have over fourteen hundred combat vehicles that provide a substantial force multiplier.

Front line Clusters are organized around a Command Binary of 5 OmniMechs and 10 vehicles, a mixed Trinary with 10 OmniMechs and 10 vehicles, two Supernovas with 10 OmniMechs and 50 Elementals each, an Infantry Trinary with 10 vehicles, 25 Elementals, and 125 Conventional Infantry, and an Aerospace Binary with 20 OmniFighters, for a total strength of 35 OmniMechs, 30 vehicles, 125 Elementals, 125 Conventional Infantry, and 20 OmniFighters.  Transport consists of three Overlord-C class DropShips modified to carry the entire Cluster Touman, with an attached Discovery-class JumpShip.  Both of the Horse Solahma Clusters are organized identically to front-line units . . . and are often used to make head-long frontal assaults to weaken an opponent before a more prestigious unit is then unleashed to win the battle.

Each front line Galaxy has a Command Element consisting of a Supernova of 10 OmniMechs and 50 Elementals, supported by a Binary of vehicles, and an Artillery Binary of 10 OmniMechs.  The Galaxy Command is transported aboard an Overlord-C class DropShip, modified to board the vehicles and Elementals and house the Galaxy HQ staff, along with spare parts and munitions for the Galaxy.  In addition, an Assault DropShip is assigned, along with an Aggressor-class JumpShip for transport.

Second line/garrison Clusters are similar, but not quite identical.  Each has a Command Binary of 5 BattleMechs and 10 vehicle, two mixed Trinary with 10 BattleMechs and 10 vehicles each, two Infantry Trinary (10 vehicles, 25 Elementals, and 125 Conventional Infantry ea), and an Aerospace Binary (20 Aerospace Fighters), for a total strength of 25 BattleMechs, 50 vehicles, 50 Elementals, 250 Conventional Infantry, and 20 Aerospace Fighters.  Transport consists of three Overlord-C class DropShips modified to carry the entire Cluster Touman; however, the Clan does not assign permanent JumpShips to garrison units.

The Horses Fleet is fairly small, but powerful, with 9 WarShips divided into two Stars:  one built for combat and the second for transport operations with a secondary combat role.  Sixty-two Merchant vessels are on active duty:  10 Voyager-class, 10 Odyssey-class, 20 Discovery-class, and 36 Aggressor-class, with an additional twenty ships in reserve at the Clan Naval Cache orbiting Niles (10 Traveler-class and 10 Odyssey-class).

Total Touman strength is 9 WarShips, 120 JumpShips (10 Voyager-class, 10 Traveler-class, 20 Odyssey-class, 40 Discovery-class, and 40 Aggressor-class) (with total docking collars available for 454 DropShips), 132 military DropShips (including 20 Assault DropShips), 1180 OmniMechs and BattleMechs, 1480 vehicles, 840 OmniFighters and Aerospace Fighters, 3875 Elementals, and 6500 Conventional Infantry.

Ice Hellion Touman Organization and Overview
Rising and falling in power on cyclic basis, the Hellions are currently on an upswing, thanks mainly to the recent change in leadership.  Former Khan Stephen Tyler was killed by a challenger who believed that Tyler’s antagonistic style of leadership and constant umbrage at the Hellion’s fellow Clans was what was keeping the Hellions from rising to power.  Confronting the Khan, Star Colonel Lindsey Bragg killed him in a Trial of Grievance in 3044, and was elected to the post of Khan in the Conclave held immediately afterwards.  Since her elevation, the Hellions have been more restrained and have managed to expand their Touman in anticipation for Revival.

The Hellions field three types of units:  the front line Attack Clusters with medium and heavy weight OmniMechs and OmniFighters, the front line Hellion Lancers with light and medium weight OmniMechs and OmniFighters, and the second line/garrison Hector Cavaliers, fielding a balanced force of lights, mediums, and heavies.  All three of the newly formed Keshiks (one each assigned to the Khan, saKhan, and Loremaster) are medium/heavy units built on the Attack Cluster model.  The Ice Hellions have NO assault weight ‘Mechs in their Touman, relying upon speed and their chosen pack tactics to defeat heavier, slowly forces.

Front line Clusters (and Solahma Clusters) feature a Command Star of 5 OmniMechs, three Trinary of OmniMechs, a Binary of Elementals, and a Trinary of OmniFighters, for a total of 50 OmniMechs, 50 Elementals, and 30 OmniFighters.  Each Cluster is assigned one Overlord-C class DropShip, one Sassanid-class DropShip, one Union-C class DropShip (for the Command Star and Cluster HQ), one Charybdis class DropShip, and one Assault DropShip, carried aboard a single Traveler-class JumpShip.

Second line Clusters greatly resemble their first line cousins.  Each has a Command Star of 5 BattleMechs, three Trinary of BattleMechs, a Trinary of 10 vehicles, 25 Elementals, and 125 Conventional Infantry, and a Binary of Aerospace Fighters, for a total of 50 BattleMechs, 10 vehicles, 25 Elementals, 125 Conventional Infantry, and 20 Aerospace Fighters.  Transport assets are one Overlord-C, one Fortress-C, one Union-C, one Charybdis, and one Assault DropShip; these garrison forces are not assigned permanent JumpShip transports.

The Hellion Fleet is broken into two Stars . . . though fairly mainstream for the most part, it is highly unusual in one regard.  Instead of using their Potemkin-class Coterie as a transport, the Hellions have instead transformed it into a massive carrier that carries the entire 4th Hellion Aerial Assault Wing.  Embarking 15 Carrier-class DropShips and 10 Assault DropShips, Coterie is able to deliver a massive aerospace force against any target.  On the civilian side, the Hellion Fleet is rather small, with just 20 Odyssey-class, 20 Discovery-class, and 20 Aggressor-class JumpShips on active duty, with an additional 5 Odyssey-class, 5 Discovery-class, and 5 Aggressor-class in mothball reserve over Hector.

Total Hellion force strength is 8 WarShips, 96 JumpShips (21 Traveler-class, 25 Odyssey-class, 25 Discovery-class, and 25 Aggressor-class) (with total docking collars available for 389 DropShips), 214 military DropShips (including 55 Assault DropShips), 1800 OmniMechs and BattleMechs, 150 vehicles, 1190 OmniFighters and Aerospace Fighters, 1700 Elementals, and 1875 Conventional Infantry.

Jade Falcon Touman Organization and Overview
Clan Jade Falcon uses the traditional organization for its front-line Clusters:  three OmniMech Trinary, one Elemental Trinary, and one OmniFighter Trinary.  Transport is provided by three DropShips (an Overlord-C class, a Sassanid class, and a Charybdis class) with every Clusters being assigned one Odyssey-class JumpShip.  The fourth docking collar is normally used for an assault DropShip.  The Solahma Clusters tend to use older BattleMechs and Aerospace Fighters instead of cutting-edge OmniMechs and OmniFighters, but are otherwise identical to front-line Clusters.

Each front-line Galaxy is also assigned a Command Star of 5 OmniMechs, transported by a Union-C class DropShip modified for additional command & control equipment.  Three assault DropShips are also assigned, along with an Odyssey-class JumpShip.

Second line/garrison Clusters use nearly the same organization:  each has three Trinary of BattleMechs, one Infantry Trinary with 10 vehicles and 250 Conventional Infantry, and one Trinary of Aerospace Fighters.  Each Cluster is equipped with three DropShips (one Overlord-C class, one Seeker-C class, and a Charybdis class), but unlike front line Clusters, JumpShips are not permanently assigned to garrison units.

Although far from the most powerful, the Falcon Naval Reserve is quite impressive.  With a dozen ships—fully half of which are battleships, battle cruisers, or heavy cruisers—it is an impressive force, although lacking in bulk transport capabilities.  The Falcon Flagship (Emerald Talon) replaces the internal ‘Mech bays and all but 75 of the Marine Elemental bays with dedicated sensor arrays and additional command and control equipment.  Likewise, the Falcons do not have the largest Merchant Fleet, but they do have a respectable one, fielding 10 Voyager-class, 20 Odyssey-class, 20 Discovery-class, and 20 Aggressor-class in their active fleet.  An additional 14 Odyssey-class, 10 Discovery-class, and 10 Aggressor-class are in mothball reserve at the Orbital Naval Cache over Ironhold.

The Jade Falcon Touman has a total strength of 12 WarShips, 140 JumpShips (10 Voyager-class, 70 Odyssey-class, 30 Discovery-class, and 30 Aggressor-class) (with total docking collars available for 520 DropShips), 234 military DropShips (including 76 Assault DropShips), 2320 OmniMechs and BattleMechs, 200 Vehicles, 1720 OmniFighters and Aerospace Fighters, 2800 Elementals, and 5000 Conventional Infantry.

Nova Cat Touman Organization and Overview
Clan Nova Cat fields 50 OmniMechs, 75 Elementals, and 20 OmniFighters in their front-line Clusters organized in a Command Binary of 10 OmniMechs, three Battle Trinary of 10 OmniMechs and 25 Elementals, an OmniMech Binary, and an OmniFighter Binary.  Transport assets consist of a Traveler-class JumpShips and five DropShips (an Overlord-C class that houses all three Battle Trinary, two Union-C class for the Command and OmniMech Binary, and two Carrier class for the OmniFighter Binary).  Both Nova Cat Solahma Clusters use the same organizational pattern, but use older, non-Omni, equipment.

All five front-line Galaxies are also provided with a Galaxy Command Trinary consisting of 15 OmniMechs aboard a Union-C class DropShip.  Transport is provided by a Discovery-class JumpShip, with the two spare docking collars housing Assault DropShips.  The Clan Command Trinary (Nova Cat Keshik) has the same organization and equipment.

Second line/garrison forces have a Command Binary of 10 BattleMechs, a BattleMech Binary, two mixed Trinary of 10 BattleMechs and 10 vehicles, an Infantry Trinary of 10 vehicles and 250 conventional infantry, and a Binary of Aerospace Fighters, for a total strength of 40 BattleMechs, 30 vehicles, 250 conventional infantry, and 20 Aerospace Fighters.  Transport assets consist of four DropShips (one Fortress-C class for the BattleMech Binary and Infantry Trinary, one Overlord-C class for the Command Binary and both Mixed Trinary, and two Carrier class for the Aerospace Fighter Binary).  JumpShips are normally not assigned on a permanent basis to garrison forces in the Nova Cat Touman.

With eight WarShips, the Nova Cat Fleet is not particularly large, but it is well-handled and exquisitely trained—it is more of a rapier than a sledgehammer.  The Clan’s Merchant Fleet is large and robust, and has been built to minimize difficulties with logistics.  The Cats retain 8 Traveler, 50 Odyssey-class and 15 Discovery-class JumpShips on active duty, with an additional 10 Odyssey-class and 20 Discovery-class in mothballs at their Naval Cache orbiting Barcella.

Total force strength for the Nova Cat Touman is 8 WarShips, 130 JumpShips (10 Traveler-class, 60 Odyssey-class, and 40 Discovery-class) (with total docking collars available for 422 DropShips), 217 military DropShips (including 22 Assault DropShips), 1975 OmniMechs and BattleMechs, 600 Vehicles, 940 OmniFighters and Aerospace Fighters, 1900 Elementals, and 5000 Conventional Infantry.

Smoke Jaguar Touman Organization and Overview
Although smaller than Clans Jade Falcon and Wolf in overall strength, the Jaguars field the largest number of front line Clusters of any Clan, albeit at the expense of garrison forces.  Each Jaguar front line Cluster contains one Command Star of 5 OmniMechs, three OmniMech Trinary, one Elemental Trinary, and a Binary of OmniFighters (for a total strength of 50 OmniMechs, 75 Elementals, and 20 OmniFighters).  Transport consists of a Traveler-class JumpShip with five attached DropShips (one Union-C class for command and supplies, one Overlord-C class, one Sassanid class, and two Carrier class).  In addition, each front-line Galaxy and the Clan Command Keshik have a Trinary of 15 OmniMechs assigned, plus one Aggressor-class JumpShip and two DropShips (a Union-C class and an Assault DropShip).  Solahma Clusters are organized identically, but are equipped with obsolescent and outdated equipment instead of front-line OmniMechs and OmniFighters.

Second line/garrison Clusters use older equipment and contain all of the Clan’s freebirth; only True-born Clan Warriors serve in the front line formations.  Each consists of a Command Star of 5 BattleMechs, three Trinary of BattleMechs, one Infantry Trinary of 10 vehicles and 250 Conventional Infantry, and a Binary of Aerospace Fighters.  Second line/garrison forces lack dedicated JumpShips, but are assigned five DropShips:  one Union-C class for command and supplies, one Overlord-C class, one Condor-C class, and two Carrier class.

The Jaguars have a solid Fleet that is built around a Battleship and a Battle Cruiser, although transport and logistical support capabilities are rather low.  On the civilian side, the Jaguars Fleet is quite small, with just 43 JumpShips (10 Odyssey-class, 10 Discovery-class, and 23 Aggressor-class) on active duty, and an additional 6 Odyssey-class, 6 Discovery-class, and 2 Aggressor-class in mothballs over the Jaguar capital of Huntress.

Overall, Clan Smoke Jaguar fields 8 WarShips, 96 JumpShips (32 Traveler-class, 16 Odyssey-class, 16 Discovery-class, and 32 Aggressor-class) (with total docking collars available for 350 DropShips), 268 military DropShips (including 21 Assault DropShips), 2505 OmniMechs and BattleMechs, 160 Vehicles, 1080 OmniFighters and Aerospace Fighters, 2675 Elementals, and 4000 Conventional Infantry as part of its Touman.

Snow Raven Touman Organization and Overview
None question the Snow Raven command of the orbitals; in the sphere of WarShips, they are matched by none, and outnumber their closest rival (the Diamond Sharks) by a full third.  But, while they are powerful indeed in space, they field one of the smaller ground Toumans.

But the lack of numbers does not tell the full story.  Despite lies to the contrary, they remain capable Warriors with a very concentrated ground Touman.  Those who mistake the Ravens for weaklings in combat on the ground are liable to see only defeat at their hands.

Raven front-line Clusters are divided into Raven Battle Clusters (including the Corvus Keshik) compromised almost exclusively of heavy OmniMechs (although a handful of assault-weight war-machines are present), the Raven Regulars which use a balanced force of medium and heavy weight designs (including the Raven Solahma Cluster), and the Striker Clusters, who field just light and medium-weight OmniMechs.  Otherwise, front line units follow the same structure:  each fields a Command Trinary with 10 OmniMechs and 25 Elementals, two Trinary of OmniMechs, a Supernova of 10 OmniMechs and 50 Elementals, and a Binary of OmniFighters, for a total of 50 OmniMechs, 75 Elementals, and 20 OmniFighters.  Transport is a Voyager-class JumpShip, with six DropShips:  one Overlord-C class, two Union-C class, two Carrier class, and one Assault DropShip.  Solahma Clusters use older BattleMechs and Aerospace Fighters instead of OmniMechs and OmniFighters, but are otherwise configured in the same fashion.

Second line/garrison Clusters are built around a Command Star of 5 BattleMechs, three Trinary of 10 BattleMechs and 10 vehicles each, one Infantry Trinary with 10 vehicles and 250 Conventional Infantry, and a Binary of Aerospace Fighters (total strength of 35 BattleMechs, 40 vehicles, 20 Aerospace Fighters, and 250 Conventional Infantry).  Contrary to typical Clan doctrine, each Raven Garrison Cluster has their own Voyager-class JumpShip for transport, with six DropShips:  one modified Overlord-C class, one modified Union-C class, one Seeker-C class, two Carrier class, and one Assault DropShip.

WarShip assets are impressive, with the Ravens fielding twenty Warships in five Naval Stars . . . including two Battleships, two Battle Cruisers, and four Heavy Cruisers.  With only four enclaves in the Homeworlds, one would expect that the Ravens have a fairly small civilian Fleet; one would be wrong.  Second only to the Diamond Sharks in size, the Raven Merchant Fleet is normally available for other Clans to hire as needed, giving the Clan a steady stream of resources.  The active duty Raven Fleet consists of 10 Wanderer-class, 20 Voyager-class, 20 Traveler-class, 20 Odyssey-class, 20 Discovery-class, and 20 Aggressor-class JumpShips, with 10 Odyssey-class, 10 Discovery-class, and 10 Aggressor-class in mothball reserve orbiting Lum.

This permits Clan Snow Raven to field a touman consisting of 20 WarShips, 155 JumpShips (10 Wanderer-class, 35 Voyager-class, 20 Traveler-class, 30 Odyssey-class, 30 Discovery-class, and 30 Aggressor-class) (with total docking collars available for 756 DropShips), 264 military DropShips (including 89 Assault DropShips), 1525 OmniMechs and BattleMechs, 600 vehicles, 1030 OmniFighters and Aerospace Fighters, 2350 Elementals, and 3750 Conventional Infantry.

Star Adder Touman Organization and Overview
The powerful Star Adders are a rising force in the Clans.  Although a staunch Clan of Crusaders, the Adders are almost as cautious as the Bears, and rely heavily upon assets that many other traditional Clans find to be . . . disconcerting.  The Adder Watch is perhaps the finest intelligence organization in the Homeworlds, and while not quite the historical-philes that the Scorpions are, they pay close attention to the lessons of the past to avoid making the same mistakes as their ancestors.

Adder front-line Clusters are organized along traditional lines, with three OmniMech Trinary, one Elemental Trinary, and one OmniFighter Trinary.  Transport is provided by a single Odyssey-class JumpShip and four DropShips:  an Overlord-C class, a Sassanid class, a Charybdis class, and an Assault DropShip.  The front line Clusters are organized as Assault Clusters (heavy and assault-weight OmniMechs), Dragoon Clusters (medium and heavy-weight OmniMechs), and Armored Cavalry Squadrons (light and medium-weight OmniMechs).  Both Keshik Clusters are organized as Dragoon Clusters.  The two Solahma Clusters are also built as Dragoon Clusters, but with older BattleMechs and Aerospace Fighters instead of modern OmniMechs and OmniFighters.

The second line/garrison Adder Sentinel Clusters are built around a Command Star of 5 BattleMechs, two mixed Trinary (each with 10 BattleMechs and 10 vehicles), two Infantry Trinary (each with 10 vehicles, 25 Elementals, and 125 Conventional Infantry), and a Binary of Aerospace Fighters.  Transport assets consist of six DropShips:  one Overlord-C class (Command Star and Mixed Trinary), two Seeker-C class (Infantry Trinary), two Carrier class (Aerospace Binary), and one Assault DropShip; JumpShips are not assigned to second-line/garrison clusters on a permanent basis.

All Adder Galaxies (front-line and second-line/garrison alike) are assigned a Galaxy Command Trinary consisting of fifteen OmniMechs (front-line) or fifteen BattleMechs (second-line/garrison).  Typically, the Adders outfit one or two stars of the Galaxy Command Trinary as artillery support ‘Mechs.  Transport consists of a Union-C class DropShip and an Assault DropShip, with an Aggressor-class JumpShip assigned to front-line Galaxies (but not second-line/garrison units).

The Adder Fleet is somewhat on the lighter side, but it remains nonetheless a powerful formation organized into three Naval Stars (two combat and one logistical support), with a total of twenty Assault DropShips assigned as escorts.  Their civilian Merchant Fleet is average for the Clans, with 20 Voyager-class, 6 Odyssey-class, 30 Discovery-class, and 25 Aggressor-class on active duty, and an additional 10 Odyssey-class and 10 Discovery-class vessels in mothballs orbiting Sheridan.

Total Adder strength consists of 12 WarShips, 130 JumpShips (20 Voyager-class, 40 Odyssey-class, 40 Discovery-class, and 30 Aggressor-class) (with total docking collars available for 507 DropShips), 270 military DropShips (including 73 Assault DropShips), 1845 OmniMechs and BattleMechs, 960 vehicles, 1460 OmniFighters and Aerospace Fighters, 3450 Elementals, and 6000 Conventional Infantry.

Steel Vipers Touman Organization and Overview
Extremely conservative in many areas, the Steel Vipers nonetheless differ from other Clans in a few significant areas.  Obsessed with the perfection of the ultimate Warrior, the Vipers have one of the harshest and most brutal training regimes among the Clans; surpassing even the Jaguars and the Spirits in this regard.  Out of every one hundred sibkin who enter the Clan’s Warrior training program, just four survive to graduate.  In excess of 80% of the remainder perish during their years of tutelage. But, the Vipers have also made a conscious decision to restructure their Touman in a different manner from what Nicholas Kerensky laid out . . . points of OmniFighters and Aerospace Fighters have just one fighter instead of two, leading to very small five-unit Stars.  What pilots the Vipers do use are well-trained and very aggressive, but their small numbers have led to occasional defeat at the hands of other, more balanced, Clans.  To make up for their limited number of fighters, the Vipers employ large number of Assault DropShips to augment their forces.

A Viper front line Cluster is built around a Command Nova of 5 OmniMechs and 25 Elementals, three OmniMech Trinary, one Elemental Trinary, and a Binary of OmniFighters (with two Stars of five OmniFighters each).  Transport assets consist of a Wanderer-class JumpShip with seven JumpShips:  one Overlord-C class, one Union-C class, one Sassanid class, one Carrier class, and three Assault DropShip.  The Triasch Keshik and all four Solahma Clusters are organized identically; the Solahma formations use older BattleMechs and Aerospace Fighters, however, instead of modern OmniMechs and OmniFighters and are assigned a very low priority for spare parts and supplies (even below second-line/garrison units).

The two Viper Dragoon Clusters of Epsilon Galaxy are organized the same, but deploy directly from orbit via the launch tubes of their transport battleship, the Dark Asp.  The Viper Rifle Cluster, also part of Epsilon, consists of four Trinary of Elementals.  Transport for Delta consists of three Overlord-C class DropShips and one Fortress-C class DropShip.

Second line/garrison Clusters contain one Command Nova of 5 OmniMechs and 25 Elementals, three BattleMech Trinary, one Infantry Trinary with 10 vehicles and 250 Conventional Infantry, and one Aerospace Fighter Binary (with two Stars of five Aerospace Fighters each).  Transport assets consist of seven JumpShips:  one Overlord-C class, one Union-C class, one Seeker-C class, one Carrier class, and three Assault DropShip.  Second-line formations are never assigned a permanent JumpShip—these units instead draw their transport from the Viper Merchant Fleet as needed.

The Viper Fleet is small, but fairly capable.  The only modification done to the ships is to the battleship Dark Asp, which has twenty more OmniFighters and fifty more Elementals than standard, at the expense of some cargo space.  The Vipers are proponents of Merchants, and have a fairly small civilian Fleet.  However, they only field the largest of the Clan JumpShips:  38 Wanderer-class are on active duty, with an additional 20 vessels of this class in mothball reserve above the Viper capital world of New Kent.

Thus, the Vipers field a Touman that consists of 12 WarShips, 80 JumpShips (80 Wanderer-class) (with total docking collars available for 560 DropShips), 273 military DropShips (including 94 Assault DropShips), 1950 OmniMechs and BattleMechs, 160 vehicles, 520 OmniFighters and Aerospace Fighters, 3350 Elementals, and 4000 Conventional Infantry.

Wolf Touman Organization and Overview
One of the most powerful Clans of Kerensky, the Wolves are a force with which to be reckoned.  Second only to the Falcons in the sheer number of clusters fielded, the Wolves are flexible and capable of independent operations, valuing combined arms and artillery . . . and are experts at employing both.  Despite protests from other, more conservative, Clans.

Wolf front line Clusters are built around a Command Star of 4 OmniMechs and 2 OmniFighters, an OmniMech Trinary, three mixed Trinary of 10 OmniMechs and 25 Elementals each, and a Binary of OmniFighters, for a total strength of 49 OmniMechs, 75 Elementals, and 22 OmniFighters.  Transport assets consist of a Voyager-class JumpShip and six DropShips:  an Overlord-C class, one Union-C class, two Carrier class, an Assault DropShip, and a cargo vessel.  Both of the Wolf Reserve Solahma Clusters are organized on the same pattern, although these units use older, obsolescent equipment when compared to front-line formations.

The Galaxy Command Keshiks consist of a Command Star with 4 OmniMechs and 2 OmniFighters, plus an OmniMech Binary normally outfitted for artillery support and an Elemental Binary for security.  Transport is an Aggressor-class JumpShip with two DropShips (an Overlord-C class modified for command and a cargo vessel), except for the Golden Keshik which is transported aboard the Heavy Cruiser Dire Wolf.  Second-line/garrison Galaxies are outfitted with a similar Command Keshik, but lack integral JumpShip transport.

Second line/garrison Clusters are optimized for defense:  each has two BattleMech Trinary, two Infantry Trinary (each with 10 vehicles, 25 Elementals, and 125 conventional infantry), and a Trinary of Aerospace Fighters.  Transport consists of five DropShips:  two Union-C class, two Seeker-C class, and one Charybdis class.  Being primarily defensive in nature, second-line/garrison Clusters lack integral interstellar transport capacity and must rely on the Wolf Merchant Fleet when changing station.

The Wolf Fleet is well-drilled and contains a core of powerful capital ships.  In addition, the Wolves have a large Merchant Fleet with a total of nearly two hundred active and reserve JumpShips.  The Merchant Caste fields 14 Voyager-class, 40 Odyssey-class, 20 Discovery-class, and 15 Aggressor-class JumpShips, with an additional 30 Discovery-class and 30 Aggressor-class in the Clan Naval Cache over Grant’s Station.

Total Clan Wolf strength is 10 WarShips, 180 JumpShips (40 Voyager-class, 40 Odyssey-class, 50 Discovery-class, and 50 Aggressor-class) (with total docking collars available for 570 DropShips), 310 military DropShips (including 48 Assault DropShips), 2162 OmniMechs and BattleMechs, 240 vehicles, 1466 OmniFighters and Aerospace Fighters, 4025 Elementals, and 6000 Conventional Infantry.

ilKhan Assets Organization and Overview
The Clans maintain a collection of Clusters and WarShips that fall under the sole command of the ilKhan.  In the absence of an ilKhan, these formations are commanded by the Loremaster of the Clans at the direction of the Council of Khans.  Each formation serves a unique purpose.

The Ebon Keshik serves as the body-guard of the ilKhan and protects the Great Hall of the Khans on Strana Mechty.  The Katyusha Keshik defends Katyusha City, while the Tartarus Keshik stands guard over the Clans Penal Colony of Tartarus.

Each Keshik is an over-strength Cluster comprised of three Trinary of OmniMechs, three Trinary of Elementals, and one Trinary of OmniFighters.  Transport consists of one Overlord-C class DropShip, three Sassanid class DropShips, one Charybdis class DropShip, and one Assault DropShip, with a Voyager-class JumpShip for interstellar transport.  Members of the Keshiks are all volunteers who relinquish all loyalty and oaths to their original Clan in order to serve the Clans as a whole.

McKenna’s Pride is the Clan’s Flagship and always remains in orbit above Strana Mechty.  Of the two Destroyers assigned to the ilKhan, one is assigned to serve as security for Tartarus—the second is either in transit or stationed at Strana Mechty.

Total strength of the ilKhan’s Assets is 3 WarShips, 3 JumpShips (40 Voyager-class) (with total docking collars available for 18 DropShips), 28 military DropShips (including 13 Assault DropShips), 135 OmniMechs, 240 OmniFighters, and 800 Elementals.

Since I cannot attach my Excel file with all of the numbers arranged for comparison . . . well, here is the raw data.  I've divided up the Clans into tiers based upon the total number of Stars they field.  Under 600 Stars, well, that's 3rd-tier.  600-750 is 2nd-tier.  751+ is 1st-tier and a true powerhouse.

Clan Blood Spirit fields 39 Clusters (17 front-line, 20 garrison, and 2 Solahma) with 8 WarShips in support.  Total strength is 647 Stars, divided among 1710 'Mechs, 1140 vehicles, 490 Fighters, 2050 Elementals, and 7500 conventional infantry.  Considered a 2nd-tier Clan.

Clan Burrock fields 35 Clusters (18 front-line, 16 garrison, and 1 Solahma) with 8 WarShips in support.  Total strength is 570 Stars, divided among 1390 'Mechs, 640 vehicles, 680 Fighters, 2400 Elementals, and 8000 conventional infantry.  Considered a 3rd-tier Clan.

Clan Cloud Cobra fields 33 Clusters (17 front-line, 15 garrison, and 1 Solahma) with 10 WarShips in support.  Total strength is 533 Stars, divided among 960 'Mechs, 480 vehicles, 1960 Fighters, 1825 Elementals, and 3000 conventional infantry.  Considered a 3rd-tier Clan--CCC is the SMALLEST Clan of this revised universe.

Clan Coyote fields 39 Clusters (20 front-line, 16 garrison, and 2 Solahma) with 8 WarShips in support.  Total strength is 608 Stars, divided among 1710 'Mechs, 320 vehicles, 880 Fighters, 2050 Elementals, and 8000 conventional infantry.  Considered a 2nd-tier Clan.

Clan Diamond Shark fields 36 Clusters (18 front-line, 16 garrison, and 2 Solahma) with 15 WarShips in support.  Total strength is 691 Stars, divided among 1525 'Mechs, 800 vehicles, 1240 Fighters, 3750 Elementals, and 4000 conventional infantry.  Considered a 2nd-tier Clan.

Clan Fire Mandrill field 40 Clusters (17 front-line, 20 garrison, and 3 Solahma) with 8 WarShips in support.  Total strength is 618 Stars, divided among 1500 'Mechs, 400 vehicles, 1280 Fighters, 1750 Elementals, and 10000 conventional infantry.  Considered a 2nd-tier Clan.

Clan Ghost Bear fields 48 Clusters (24 front-line and 24 garrison with 0 Solahma) with 8 WarShips in support.  Total strength is 793 Stars, divided among 1990 'Mechs, 480 vehicles, 1140 Fighters, 4625 Elementals, and 6000 conventional infantry.  Considered a 1st-tier Clan.

Clan Goliath Scorpion fields 33 Clusters (17 front-line, 15 garrison, and 1 Solahma) with 10 WarShips in support.  Total strength is 562 Stars, divided among 1398 'Mechs, 450 vehicles, 918 Fighters, 2890 Elementals, and 3750 conventional infantry.  Considered a 3rd-tier Clan--second in strength only to Clan Cloud Cobra.

Clan Hell's Horses fields 36 Clusters (18 front-line, 16 garrison, and 2 Solahma) with 9 WarShips in support.  Total strength is 675 Stars, divided among 1180 'Mechs, 1480 vehicles, 840 Fighters, 3875 Elementals, and 6500 conventional infantry.  Considered a 2nd-tier Clan.

Clan Ice Hellion fields 36 Clusters (19 front-line, 15 garrison, and 2 Solahma) with 8 WarShips in support.  Total strength is 577 Stars, divided among 1800 'Mechs, 150 vehicles, 1190 Fighters, 1700 Elementals, and 1875 conventional infantry.  Considered a 3rd-tier Clan.

Clan Jade Falcon fields 51 Clusters (26 front-line, 20 garrison, and 5 Solahma) with 12 WarShips in support.  Total strength is 808 Stars, divided among 2320 'Mechs, 200 vehicles, 1720 Fighters, 2800 Elementals, and 5000 conventional infantry.  Considered a 1st-tier Clan--second in strength only to Clan Wolf.

Clan Nova Cat fields 42 Clusters (20 front-line, 20 garrison, and 2 Solahma) with 8 WarShips in support.  Total strength is 665 Stars, divided among 1975 'Mechs, 600 vehicles, 940 Fighters, 1900 Elementals, and 500 conventional infantry.  Considered a 2nd-tier Clan.

Clan Smoke Jaguar fields 48 Clusters (28 front-line, 16 garrison, and 4 Solahma) with 8 WarShips in support.  Total strength is 764 Stars, divided among 2505 'Mechs, 160 vehicles, 1080 Fighters, 2675 Elementals, and 4000 conventional infantry.  Considered a 1st-tier Clan.

Clan Snow Raven fields 35 Clusters (19 front-line, 15 garrison, and 1 Solahma) with 20 WarShips in support.  Total strength is 592 Stars, divided among 1525 'Mechs, 600 vehicles, 1030 Fighters, 2350 Elementals, and 3750 conventional infantry.  Considered a 3rd-tier Clan (except in Naval Warfare, that is).

Clan Star Adder fields 48 Clusters (22 front-line, 24 garrison, and 2 Solahma) with 12 WarShips in support.  Total strength is 764 Stars, divided among 1845 'Mechs, 960 vehicles, 1460 Fighters, 3450 Elementals, and 6000 conventional infantry.  Considered a 1st-tier Clan (which really pisses off the Coyotes who used to be a 1st-tier Clan).

Clan Steel Viper fields 40 Clusters (20 front-line, 16 garrison, and 4 Solahma) with 12 WarShips in support.  Total strength is 624 Stars, divided among 1950 'Mechs, 160 vehicles, 520 Fighters, 3350 Elementals, and 4000 conventional infantry.  Considered a 2nd-tier Clan.  NOTE:  While the Vipers might consider 5-fighters as a single Star, the other Clans (and your humble lorekeeper) calculate their strength based on a 10-fighter Star.  Which infuriates the Vipers to no end.

And finally, Clan Wolf fields 50 Clusters (24 front-line, 24 garrison, and 2 Solahma) with 10 WarShips in support.  Total strength is 812 Stars, divided among 2162 'Mechs, 240 vehicles, 1466 Fighters, 4025 Elementals, and 6000 conventional infantry.  Considered a 1st-tier Clan and the single strongest Clan (at least by counting Stars) as well as one of the most flexible.

Oh, and the assets attached directly to the command of the ilKhan:  3 Clusters (all front-line) with 3 WarShips in support.  Total strength of 83 Stars, divided among 135 'Mechs, 240 Fighters, and 800 Elementals.

Okay first off thinking of the Clans in some of the same ways you do Master Arminas I'd have to disagree with some of your tier assessments. Blood Spirit for example is a lesser (Tier Three) Clan for a reason and fields a touman in excess of their "tier" because well they need to for their very survival. That rating be based on canon references to their populace, industrial output, economic strength, scientific prowess, and general reputation. Of course if your changing the story of the Clans and events none of that matters.

Warship numbers seem awful small but I could see it based on your reasoning. Poor Snow Ravens get screwed. I like having certain warships attached or part of units. Was doing that in one of my olde warship designs, the Sphinx class Carrier which was based on the Thera and deployed an Aerospace Galaxy.  ;)

Also did the ilKhan forces in some of my own campaigns as well. There I called it Unified Clan Command. Supreme, Unity, or United Command could also work but it essentially is made up of warriors from all the Clans. Headed by the ilKhan it also included the Loremaster of the Clans. Black (honoring the old Star League Black Watch) and Red (Kerensky Dagger Star) are the colors of this multi Clan force which is commanded by a Galaxy Commander or a Star Admiral. You have two to three frontline Clusters depending on your opinion of Astral Keshik (frontline to me which is the Naval Cluster composed warships like McKenna's Pride and the Prinz Eugen along with appropriate OmniFighter and Elemental personnel. I considered Ebon Keshik the guardians of the Grand Council and left them with this important duty by creating Obsidian Keshik to act as the ilKhan’s personal guard. The Katyusha Guard (1 Cluster) and Katyusha Sentinels (2 Clusters) rounded out Clan Command. They are much more second line in nature guarding the capital of the Clans with BattleMechs perhaps older Omnis, Vehicles, Elementals, and Conventional Infantry.

Remember, this is before the Burrock Absorption.  In canon, the Spirits attacked with SEVEN GALAXIES of troops . . . only EIGHT CLUSTERS survived.  Now, Crusader Clans gave the Spirits a total of 27 Clusters . . . including the survivors of the Burrock Absorption.  So pre-Absorption, the Spirits should have been fielding around 42-52 Clusters; that's a little too much for my vision but 39 sounds about right.  Putting the Spirits squarely in the middle of the 2nd-tier Clans with 647 Stars.  Plus, my 'Tier' assessment is based strictly on the number of Stars a Clan can field.  Less than 600 is Tier 3.  600-749 is Tier 2.  750+ is Tier 1.

Not really.  Eight Clans have 8 WarShips; one Clan has 9; three have 10; three more have 12; and the Diamond Sharks have 15 (including 6 Potemkins and/or Volgas).  The Ravens have 20 WarShips, only FOUR of which are troop cruisers or transports.  SIXTEEN Battleships, Battle Cruisers, Heavy Cruisers, Frigates, and Destroyers--that is twice the TOTAL WarShip amount (including TCs and Transports) of eight separate Clans.

I didn't want to expand the United Command (I like that title) too much.  But I get your drift and that is some neat ideas there.

Blood Spirits had the smallest forces because they were forced down to 1 Planet and to Enclaves. The Enclaves were contently under other Clan threat. Pretty Much any Clan that attacked the only near fully Blood Spirit World would face the whole Clan not just the warriors.

They were the smallest because they had the least resouces.

One planet (York) and one enclave (Strana Mechty) AFTER the Burrock absorption, Knightowl.  Prior to that, the Spirits had an additional three enclaves.  They lost those during their ill-thought intervention in to the Burrock-Adder Absorption.  Yes, the Spirits were isolationists, pre-BA.  Yes, they were iconoclasts.  But the weakest Clan?  The smallest Clan?  They aren't THAT even AFTER the absorption.  And that is canon.

116th Dragoon Cluster (Rattlesnakes!) (Veteran/Fanatical)

I love it!

Seriously though this is an awesome writeup, much more realistic (and of course complete) than what we got in canon. I can't wait to see what you do with it!

Aramis one suggestion

Bump the Scorpions Warships.assests up to another Naval Star

Their Toumam in Canon actually held a fairly potent fleet.

The downside.is that supporting said.fleet.requires plenty of resources

I  considered doing that . . . but I really tried to cut WarShips to the bone for this reimagining.  I didn't want the Scorpions to have more ships than Clan Wolf . . . and here the Wolves have 10 WarShips.  One idea that I considered, however, would have been to add just one more ship to the Scorpion Reserve.  Remove Garlon and Sagitta from the Scorpion's Destiny Naval Star (leaving just three ships) and making a second three-ship star.  Probably with a Cameron-class BC or Liberator-class CA as the additional vessel.  That would have given the Scorpions 11 ships, but I could have removed the Volga-class Transport from their support star in exchange to keep them at 10.

Shrug.

In the end, I decided just to keep it this way.
