Carpe Jugulum

Go for the throat! It seems as if Pretorian have talked the rest of the gang into a bit of headhunting. Without the Caspars the Rimmers have very little defense available, even if Terra is too heavily defended for the HAF/SLDF force there are Mars, Venus, Titan and the asteroid colonies to set up advance bases until the main armies return from the Periphery.

And what a delightfully tense place to halt for a while :)

And what happens if all the friendly armies from the friendly Inner Sphere States decide that the Rim Worlds Republic is a nice place to be?

Also annexing Outworlds worlds? Isn't it a sign of bad will?

It's essentially being agreed here that the LC, FWL and DC will be allowed to keep parts of the RWR. The SLDF is still large enough to enforce limits to that, and more importantly there's the political will to enforce it. Even if Kurita, Marik and Steiner unite opposing it, with either Liao as Regent (breaking ties) or adding Kerensky gives the other Lords a majority in the Council.

As for the Outworlds, Clay is proposing a diplomatic approach. Those worlds are already loyal to the Star League over the OWA so it's feasible that Allyce Avellar (legendarily the most naïve person ever to rule the Alliance) will agree. And if she doesn't, what's she going to do? Launch a rebellion and kick the SLDF out of her realm?

Bump.

Any chance for more of this?  I'm bored.  Bored as sin.  I'd like to sin, but my wife is busy puking.

Not right now. It's one of those things I'd like to go back to but current projects are taking up energy. (Nanowrimo, Moving House, selling the old house. Another non-battletech fic).
