Good afternoon, all. We had SNOW in Mississippi yesterday--an entire TWO INCHES! It has been almost seven years since our last snow-fall in my neck of the woods! So there I was, at home, isolated from the internet, watching the snow fall (and quickly melt, lol) when I got an idea.
Tell me what you think.
In 2595, as the conclusion of the Reunification War becomes too obvious to ignore any longer, the Concordat government decides to carry out its own 'Exodus'. Using the old 'Aquila' class Transports, they load up 50,000 volunteers, escorted by a handful of the last ships of the TCN. Using hidden jump points in Flannagan's Nebula, they avoid the Star League and Davion forces and make their way into the deep periphery of the Rim.
Fast forward a few hundred years (how many I don't know). The descendents of Taurus decide to return home and 'free' their long-lost brothers and sisters from Star League oppression.
Let's talk about this scenario, create some new ideas, and start the basis of yet another alternate universe for me to write about (lol).

You would think a Calderon would have to be a member but wouldn't the Star League be looking for these guys if a member of the Royal Family up and left. I mean intelligence gathered on their enemy would have dossiers on anyone of importance so how can you keep this a secret? That is a good first question to answer. You need a believable getaway story where the League is clueless at least for the most part to their existance.

The aftermath of the Reunification War, especially in the Taurian Concordat was messy. Any number of persons could beat feet and disappear with enough planning and a little luck. Although using the Aquila's might be iffy. Towards the end of the war the Concordat would be desperate to throw anything and everything in the path of the encroaching SLDF. Using the Aquila's even as floating mines wouldn't be past the Taurians.
I also don't see the Taurians as runners, I mean when the Concordat signed the surrender the Calderon in charge committed suicide. These people basically reinvented the human wave attack, so taking off for the great unknown is a big...I don't know.

I do agree with Knightmare here: not really Taurian.
