Forced to back down, the ilKhan retaliated by ordering a Jaguar PGC back in Clan space to launch a Trial of Possession for the Diamond Shark world of Delios. The Sharks' Alpha Galaxy made short work of their attackers, then launched their own assault on the Jaguar world of Vinton. They successfully held several key industrial sites on that world, disrupting the flow of the Jaguars' supplies to the Inner Sphere, until they were eventually forced off world.

Delta's first official combat assignment was on the planet Londerholm, formerly owned by Clan Smoke Jaguar. After the virtual Annihilation of that Clan by the reborn Star League, Khan Koga ordered Delta to take Possession of the Jaguars· former enclave there. Situated on the periphery of the Kerensky Cluster, the Coyotes faced only one other Clan on Londerholm: Clan Ice Hellion. Unfortunately for the Coyotes, the Hellions had been entrenched on the planet for years, and on the orders of their Khan had moved an ad-hoc Galaxy in to help pacify the planet. When the Coyotes' Delta Galaxy dropped onto Londerholm, the two Clans began fighting a series of Trials. More than six months later, the two forces remain embroiled in combat.
