Clans after Tukayyid
« on: September 07, 2019, 10:19:20 AM »

Following vacation I will be detailing what is happening with the Clans in late 3052. My home group and I will be detailing these events this year during our tabletop season. It will conclude with the Trial of Restoration which is detailed in Clarion Call. However I wanted to get everyone's input before we proceed. So what would each of these Clans do just after Tukayyid if confronted with a fundamental overhaul of the invasion. In general are they rebuilding at this time from some past action or ready/willing to strike out to gain? Please be more specific if you like!

Blood Spirit
Burrock
Cloud Cobra
Coyote
Diamond Shark
Fire Mandrill
Ghost Bear
Goliath Scorpion
Hell's Horses
Ice Hellion
Jade Falcon
Nova Cat
Smoke Jaguar
Snow Raven
Star Adder
Steel Viper
Wolf

Yes I already have plans but this is a comprehensive plan to look at every Clan during this time.

Ill think about this more detail later but I always thought Star Adder should have been like who's laughing now about our bid for entire touman.

Been working on this one too with our gaming season coming up which will detail the Hellion's Reckoning. This will involve several Clans and really set the table for the Trial of Restoration.

Okay gang, please comment on my thoughts below!

Clan Plans

Post Tukayyid (May 20, 3052)

Blood Spirit
Leaders: Khan Karianna Schmitt & saKhan Daryl Keller
Martial Strength: 10 Galaxies and 6 Warships
Pentagon Worlds: 1 (Arcadia – 22%)
Kerensky Cluster: 1 (York – 90%)
This Clan is undergoing a philosophical shift from strict isolation towards their founder’s original intent thanks in large part to the Hellion’s Reckoning. Only their ilChi’s bodyguard and some internal fighting between him and the Loremaster really mark this transition at this time. What is not in transition is their long held Operational Plan Avenger which is constantly practiced to annihilate their Burrock nemesis despite any other circumstances. Their touman which keeps a low profile and trains continually in order to maximize their numerical superiority on the ground thanks to Snow Raven as well as overcome any weaknesses like their naval deficiency from the same deal. So, while in an excellent position to take advantage of the fighting en masse the Clan may sit and wait for their activation in Operation Restoration.

Burrock
Leaders: Khan Jocelyn Siddiq & saKhan Orrel Polczyk
Martial Strength: 7 Galaxies and 15 Warships
Pentagon Worlds: 1 (Dagda – 24%)
Kerensky Cluster: 4 (Albion – 100%, Priori - 48%, Hoard - 35%, Paxon - 0%)
Tanite Garrison: 3 (Tanis, Alexandra, Stacha)
The scourge of the Dark Caste has new leadership rising to the top and with the defense contract with Cloud Cobra tying up a second-line Galaxy which gives the Clan a third of the Tantie’s natural resources there is little left for extracurricular activity. While a frontline cluster, perhaps even a Galaxy, could be dedicated to some major assault changing internal priorities make anything except heavy raiding impossible. In other words, they could attack during this time but holding any newly won territory would be unlikely especially given their substantial commitments. Skeptical of Operation Restoration this Clan may also want to keep its forces at the ready given any major changes to the Crusade.

Cloud Cobra
Leaders: Khan Din Steiner & saKhan Kieran Telinov
Martial Strength: 6 Galaxies and 15 Warships
Pentagon Worlds: 1 (Babylon – 26%)
Kerensky Cluster: 2 (Homer - 80%, Brim - 30%)
Tanite Garrison: 3 (Tanis, Alexandra, Stacha)
The call for Restoration has spurred this Clan to united action in a way perhaps not yet fully understood. Vowing to activate its massive reserves the Cloud Cobra touman may experience the largest growth of any Clan in recent history. By mobilizing three quarters of its reservists and setting a lower ready replacement ratio to a one in four warrior standard fifteen new Clusters can be rapidly fielded. This huge commitment has been justified in faith and future gains like the kind seen by the Invading Clans during Revival. Should a crisis or disaster strike the Cobras than such expansion will likely result in their absorption or worse but the Khans are certain that now is the time to act. While such massive growth calls for possible assaults in the Homeworlds one must remember the goal of this build up is geared towards the InnerSphere.

Coyote
Leaders: Khan Robin Steele & saKhan Tain McTighe
Martial Strength: 12 Galaxies and 12 Warships
Pentagon Worlds: 1 (Babylon– 27%)
Kerensky Cluster: 5 (Tamaron – 100%, Delios – 36%, Foster – 40%, Londerholm – 24%, New Kent – 19%)
The Coyotes are a Clan in transition who are generally displeased with the results of Tukayyid as it could ultimately threaten Homeworld security. They remain wary of Operation Restoration but realize they are a mere shell of their former glorious selves. The dozen Galaxies that the Clan currently fields are badly understrength and in need of urgent rebuilding. While military adventurism in the Homeworlds might help restore their empire as well as help their touman it is clearly out of the question at this point. As their elders prepare to step aside in favor of some new blood everyone realizes that immediate reforms are necessary if further reversals are to be avoided.

Diamond Shark
Leaders: Khan Ian Hawker & saKhan Barbara Sennet
Martial Strength: 7 Galaxies and 18 Warships
Pentagon Worlds: 1 (Babylon – 24%)
Kerensky Cluster: 7 (Delios (44%), Lum (18%), New Kent (9%), Priori (52%), Strato Domingo (65%), Tathis (50%), Vinton (40%)
Deep Periphery Bases: 2 (Bazaar, Attenbrooks)
Periphery Holdings: 1 (Nyserta)
Devastating losses suffered at Tukayyid to two of its three frontline Galaxies have left Clan upon the precipice. While other Clans smell blood in the water the Sharks still have considerable reserves and resources to draw upon. Rebuilding their decimated touman is still the first order of the day and it is vital that the Clan defend its remaining holdings lest they face Absorption. As a brief respite to renew their strength is required many warriors have taken heart in the hope that Operation Restoration may just provide a breather.

Fire Mandrill
Leaders: Khan Victoria Tanaga & saKhan Naresh Sainze
Martial Strength: 7 Galaxies and 7 Warships
Pentagon Worlds: 1 (Dagda – 24%)
Kerensky Cluster: 4 (Shadow – 100%, Atreus – 30%, Foster – 30%, Marshall – 15%)
Well positioned for an assault, especially against the Hellions, it remains to be seen if the Fire Mandrill Clan can stop attacking each other long enough to hit another Clan. At times the seven warring Kindraa who make up this fractious Clan have put aside petty differences to strike at a common foe but true unity has always remained elusive. Most distressingly in the face of the Ice Hellion’s most recent temper tantrum the Clan has failed to come together despite sharing three worlds (Atreus, Foster, Marshall) with their potential foe. The current Khans are approaching their wits end and may soon step down if some multilateral response to this aggression fails to materialize.

Ghost Bear
Leaders: Khan Bjorn Jorgenson & saKhan Aletha Kabrinski
Martial Strength: 12 Galaxies and 15 Warships
Pentagon Worlds: 1 (Arcadia – 25%)
Kerensky Cluster: 3 (Bearclaw - 80%, Tokasha - 65%, Paxon – 62%)
Deep Periphery Bases: 1+ (Trelleborg)
Periphery Holdings: 3 (Manaringaine, Elissa, Porthos)
Occupied Worlds: 37 (Damian, Thule, Holmsbu, Pinnacle, Constance, Susquehanna, Jarett, Trondheim, Last Frontier, Radije, Policenigo, Vipaava, Jezersko, Pomme de Terre, Predlitz, Spittal, Casere, Goito, Soverzene, Thessalonika, Kempten, Kaesong, Sheliak, Alshain, Tinaca, Marawi, Halesowen, Sternwerde, Maule, Ardoz, Setubal, Utrecht, Eguilles, Krenice, Mannedorf, Toffen, Rubigen)
The always cautious Ghost Bear Clan is taking its time absorbing their newfound gains in the InnerSphere. Currently fielding the second strongest Touman among the Clans and possessing well consolidated territorial enclaves in the Homeworlds it is anyone’s guess what the enigmatic Bears will do. Conflict with the Wolves, Smoke Jaguars, and Diamond Sharks are all possible after their actions during Revival. Slow to anger but nearly unstoppable when enraged this Clan has boundless options after their able invasion performance highlighted by a win against the ComGuards on Tukayyid. As a whole they dislike change and word of Operation Restoration has thus far garnered few fans among the Bears.

Goliath Scorpion
Leaders: Khan Ariel Suvorov & saKhan Nelson Elam
Martial Strength: 7 Galaxies and 17 Warships
Pentagon Worlds: 1 (Dagda – 29%)
Kerensky Cluster: 3 (Roche – 83%, Marshall – 36%, Tokasha – 21%)
The backward-looking Goliath Scorpion Clan is an enigma wrapped in a conundrum whose necrosia driven Seekers should never be dismissed. Obsessed with the past these lone warriors are always on the hunt for some historic relic or another. The Clan currently sits in a powerful position in the Homeworlds and its new leadership just maybe looking for a way to announce their presence. While capable of lashing out it remains to be seen if they will or not as Operation Restoration could open up new quests for its warriors to partake in far beyond the glory available in the Homeworlds.

Hell's Horses
Leaders: Khan Malavai Fletcher & saKhan Tanya DeLaurel
Martial Strength: 9 Galaxies and 10 Warships
Pentagon Worlds: 1 (Eden – 23%)
Kerensky Cluster: 4 (Niles – 100%, Kirin – 50%, Strato Domingo – 35%, Tiber – 50%)
Rebuilding since the ferocious battle for Niles almost ten years ago the Hell’s Horses Clan may finally be ready to strike. Badly hurt by their epic struggles with the Ghost Bear Clan they are looking to acquire new resources to enhance their position. Operation Restoration could very well be the answer to the Clan’s need but so could other Homeworld territories. With scars still healing from their last conflict one should not expect rash action from this Clan but rather well-timed action.

Ice Hellion
Leaders: Khan Asa Taney & saKhan Weiland Cage
Martial Strength: 6 Galaxies and 13 Warships
Pentagon Worlds: 1 (Babylon – 23%)
Kerensky Cluster: 8 (Hector – 100%, Atreus – 30%, Foster – 30%, Hoard – 25%, Londerholm – 24%, Marshall – 9%, New Kent – 6%, Tathis – 30%)
Enraged by their failure to earn a spot in the invasion the Ice Hellion Clan lashed out in their typical fashion during their so-called Fury Campaign. Uncharacteristically successful this entirely unexpected blitz through the Homeworlds won them many resources and more than a few enemies. Currently their lightning fast Touman is stretched to the limit trying to hold on to these massive gains which may serve them well. Operation Restoration could have them well placed to partake in a new invasion of the InnerSphere and perhaps even led it. Many other Clans smile at hearing these Hellion dreams vocalized and often reply “not so fast.”

Jade Falcon
Leaders: Khan Elias Crichell & saKhan Vandervahn Chistu
Martial Strength: 11 Galaxies and 23 Warships
Pentagon Worlds: 2 (Dagda – 9%, Eden – 25%)
Kerensky Cluster: 7 (Ironhold – 100%, Gatekeeper – 50%, Glory – 45%, Huntress – 1%, Marshall – 6%, Tokasha – 14%, York – 5%)
Deep Periphery Bases: 5 (Trinity, Cambridge, Santiago IV, Transfer J239H2, St. Jean)
Periphery Holdings: 6 (Von Strang’s World, Botany Bay, Last Chance, Gotterdammerung, Erewhon, Lackhove)
Occupied Worlds: 41 (Anywhere, Bensinger, Bone Norman, Here, Persistence, Steelton, Toland, Winfield, Apollo, Black Earth, Butler, Derf, Evciler, Golandrinas, Maxie’s Planet, Romulus, Seiduts, Somerset, Wotan, Beta VII, Hot Springs, Malibu, Roadside, Blackjack, Goat Path, Denizli, Alyina, Apolakkia, Devin, Leskovik, Zoetermeer, Baker 3, Parakoila, Antares, Dompaire, Colmar, Graus, Sudeten, Blair Atholl, La Grave, Quarell)
Possessing by far the strongest Touman today the Jade Falcon Clan is still smarting from many small slights. Their galling draw with the dishonorable ComGuards on Tukayyid and small defeats by the once mighty Federated Commonwealth pale only in comparison to the successes of the Wolf Clan. Their biggest rivals have not only saddled them with ‘help’ from the erratic Steel Viper Clan but backed a shame Truce with a deceitful InnerSphere and now call for a major revision to Operation Revival. This offensive which they helped plan needs no alteration in their opinion but rather effective leadership which will renew the invasion once more as quickly as possible. While the Clan possesses the strength, it remains to be seen if their leadership possesses the will to spearhead a renewed Crusade.

Nova Cat
Leaders: Khan Severen Leroux & saKhan Lucian Carns
Martial Strength: 10 Galaxies and 22 Warships
Pentagon Worlds: 1 (Circe – 27%)
Kerensky Cluster: 6 (Barcella – 100%, Bearclaw – 20%, Brim - 30%, Delios – 20%, Gatekeeper – 50%, Hoard – 40%)
Deep Periphery Bases: 3 (Gwithian, Salonika, Ctesiphon)
Occupied Worlds: 15 (Tarnby, Bjarred, Sawyer, Chupadero, Jeanette, Courchevel, Irece, Itabaiana, Juazeiro, Mualang, Teniente, Caripare, Cyrenaica, Kanowit, Avon – 50%)
Badly hurt by successive losses on Luthien and Tukayyid the Nova Cat Clan has returned to its holdings in order to lick its wounds. Rebuilding its damaged Touman will also lead to some soul searching for this mystical Clan often guided by visions. They are well positioned in the short term for some R&R but maybe in the crosshairs of many rivals including the Smoke Jaguar Clan and the Draconis Combine if too complacent. How this Clan will react to Operation Restoration is anyone’s, perhaps even the Nova Cats, guess.

Smoke Jaguar
Leaders: Khan Lincoln Osis & saKhan Brandon Howell
Martial Strength: 11 Galaxies and 23 Warships
Pentagon Worlds: 2 (Circe – 23%, Eden – 26%)
Kerensky Cluster: 7 (Huntress – 99%, Atreus – 40%, Homer – 10%, Kirin – 50%, Londerholm 52%, Tranquil – 70%, Vinton – 60%)
Deep Periphery Bases: 4 (Transfer Facility 4, Suda Bay, Ghent, Nouveaux Paris)
Periphery Holdings: 1 (Santander’s World)
Occupied Worlds: 30 (Richmond, Idlewind, Schwartz, Rockland, Turtle Bay, Almunge, Virentofta, Stapelfeld, Nykvam, Garstedt, Courdoux, Kabah, Hanover, Albiero, Savinsville, Schuyler, Luzerne, Bangor, Jeronimo, Byesville, Marshdale, Hyner, Labrea, Outer Volta, Yamarovka, Asgard, Port Arthur, Tarazed, Kiamba, Avon – 50%)
No Clan suffered more from the invasion of the InnerSphere than the Smoke Jaguars who lost a third of their best warriors during conflicts which ranged from Wolcott, to Luthien, to most stunning Tukayyid. Still this Clan is a dangerous force to be reckoned with even in its or perhaps because of its diminished state. The Jaguars have always been the aggressors since Kerensky founded this warrior society some two centuries ago. Always taking what it needs to thrive this Clan will likely attack again soon to try and do the same. Operation Restoration was met with characteristic supremacist rebuttal from the once leaders of the Crusader. If there is to be any changes to the invasion plan of the InnerSphere it will have to overcome their might whose drop could be all the proof some need for change.

Snow Raven
Leaders: Khan Lynn McKenna & saKhan Joseph Crow
Martial Strength: 6 Galaxies and 39 Warships
Pentagon Worlds: 1 (Circe – 28%)
Kerensky Cluster: 4 (Lum – 82%, Brim – 19%, Hellgate – 100%, York – 5%)
Certainly, aggrieved by the Hellions’ Fury Campaign on Marshall which resulted in the loss of a polar research outpost the Snow Raven Clan is surprisingly well consolidated at this time. Overcoming pre-invasion losses inflicted by the Coyotes which resulted in their stunning unreadiness for Operation Revival the calculating Ravens could surprise many with a well-timed strike. Currently their forces and holdings are well consolidated which thanks to favorable naval arrangements with the Jade Falcon Clan are paying handsome returns. Do the Ravens strike now at the Homeworlds perhaps proving their restored viability or wait for Operation Restoration?

Star Adder
Leaders: Khan Cassius N’Buta & saKhan Tabitha Paik
Martial Strength: 10 Galaxies and 15 Warships
Pentagon Worlds: 1 (Arcadia – 26%)
Kerensky Cluster: 4 (Sheridan – 100%, Brim – 21%, Marshall – 13%, Tathis – 20%, Paxon – 0%)
The Star Adder Clan ever the opportunist should be in exceptional position to grab more Homeworld possessions. Minor testing of the Diamond Shark Clan followed Tukayyid and they share holdings with the Hellions’ on Marshall and Tathis as well as the Wolves on Paxon which are very tempting targets. However, their leadership has become enraptured by the possibilities offered by Operation Restoration. Preliminary operational talks between the Wolves and the Adders have already begun but what will win out? The temptation of Homeworld conquests or the dream of a revised InnerSphere invasion?

Steel Viper
Leaders: Khan Perigard Zalman & saKhan Christopher Ahmed
Martial Strength: 10 Galaxies and 15 Warships
Pentagon Worlds: 1 (Arcadia – 27%)
Kerensky Cluster: 4 (New Kent – 66%, Grant’s Station – 55%, Homer – 10%, Marshall -21%)
Deep Periphery Bases: 3 (Wark, Kinbrace, Ramsey)
Occupied Worlds: 6 (Waldorff, Twycross, Montmarault, Benfled, Orkney, Jabuka)
The attention of the Steel Viper Clan is wholly upon the Jade Falcon Occupation Zone in the InnerSphere. With only a half dozen worlds subjugated by Tukayyid this Clan is thirsting to expand its OZ holdings. As such only two Galaxies have been left to defend their Homeworld possessions which means despite a desire to expand by some, particularly on New Kent, they probably don’t have the warriors to do so.

Wolf
Leaders: Khan Natasha Kerensky & saKhan Phelan Ward
Martial Strength: 12 Galaxies and 19 Warships
Pentagon Worlds: 3 (Circe – 22%, Dagda -14%, Eden –26%)
Kerensky Cluster: 6 (Glory – 55%, Grant’s Station – 45%, Paxon – 38%, Roche – 17%, Tiber – 50%, Tranquil – 30%)
Deep Periphery Bases: 4 (Wolf Orbital 82, Transfer Station P3, Transfer Station P9, Harris)
Periphery Holdings: 11 (Ferris, The Rock, Placida, Drask’s Den, Blackstone, Sigurd, Oberon VI, Paulus Prime, Crellacor, Butte Hold, Gustrell)
Occupied Worlds: 76 (Icar, Outpost, Skallevoll, Chateau, New Caledonia, The Edge, St. John, Alleghe, Svelvik, Balsta, New Bergen, Leoben, Csesztreg, Verthandi, Lovinac, Rodigo, Hermagor, Rasalhague, Harvest, Kirchbach, Liezen, Bruben, New Oslo, Dawn, Planting, Mozirje, Feltre, Unzmarkt, Vantaa, Ridderkerk, Hohenems, Ferleiten, Svarstaad, Basiliano, Kufstein, Engadin, Dell, Kandis, Stanzach, Radstadt, Vulcan, Skokie, Moritz, Sevren, Tamar, Laurent, Weingarten, Memmingen, Vorarlberg, Thannhausen, Gunzburg, Volders, Maestu, Cusset, Kobe, Bessarabia, Hyperion, Karston, Heiligendreuz, Biota, Shaula, Rastaban, Wheel, Hainfeld, Thun, Satalice, Suk II, Domain, Galuzzo, Skandia, Carse, Nox, Diosd, Lothan Ramsau, Altenmarkt)
The Clan of Kerensky is venerated by all the Clans, even its rivals, who seem to fail to realize that they are the most overextended. Lightning attacks, superior cunning, and guile have allowed the Wolves to retain most of their holdings despite understrength Galaxies. Operation Restoration may indeed help this Clan the most by magnanimously allowing Homeworld Clans to share in their isorla thus reducing their overstretched holdings. With Trials coming up over this planned Operation and a heavy focus on the InnerSphere there is little this Clan would do in the Homeworlds.

It seems they didn't learn anything from the Invasion.

Who? Can you be a little more specific Ice??

I was looking for your and other folks thoughts on what the Clans may do in this situation. Are they rebuilding, overextended, or in a position to strike? What's their focus - Homeworlds or InnerSphere?

Heck, do you agree with my conclusions even. Perhaps you think I've gotten an assessment or two wrong. I know it is my setting and all but don't be afraid to challenge these statements if you think you know better and can prove it.

Please comment away!

It seems they didn't understand why they lost and how they could win (or at least try as the differences in population and ressources are too big). They are ready to fight among themselves and don't see that it is weakening them.

So, I got them in character perfectly is what you are saying! ;)

Seriously, that was the aim as I feel wholesale change is a bit too dramatic for the Clans to embrace as of yet. Please feel free to disagree though and point out who among them would have it your way.

I can list the Khans and saKhans later. Just remember that nothing much has changed at this point so your gonna get the canon names with hints as to where I see the Clan going.

Yes, thanks marauder648!

This is the very beginning of the Clans for Salient Horizons right after Tukayyid. My intent was to give everyone this info as I was hoping for their input on what they thought each of them should be doing from June 1 to December 31, 3052. This takes us up to the Trial of Restoration, of which word on this replacement plan (that itself contains the Quicksilver Initiative) for Operation Revival is spreading.

I did develop some ideas on my own but still would love to hear what you think on the subject. You can focus on one Clan or give me your opinion on them all. ;)

Gonna try to make a New Year resolution here folks that I could use help with. My first fanbook for Salient Horizons I've tentatively entitled Revival's End and it will serve to bring everyone up to date with the Clans after Tukayyid. Sort of Field Manual Update for the Clans dated January 1, 3053.

Focus will be on the Free Guilds (fleshing out their concept), Smoke Jaguar (unanswered questions), Outlining Operation Restoration Proposal and Revival (comparing, political reasoning, and effects), Current Events (Alternate and canon since Tukayyid like Battle of Nyserta, New Coyote Khans, Viper-Falcon conflicts, Hellion's Reckoning, etc..).

Gonna try to get one thing done a day.

Love to hear what else you'd like to see. Comments welcomed!

New Historic Details (from FM Crusader and Warden Clans)

~ Star Adder interference in the Mongoose Absorption

~ Fire Mandrill Kindraa trading genetic stock with Smoke Jaguar through Sea Fox

~ Operation Klondike and the recapture of the Pentagon Worlds (Eden)

Trial of Position Khan (elaborate on the novel exerpt)

Touman before the Invasion (Operation Revival Trials)

Crusader Harvest (further augments the strongest Touman perhaps giving them a casaulty cushion)

Return of Lincoln Osis (was he the only qualified Khan, by combat trial?, why would Howell step aside?)

Sixth Wave failure, post Tukayyid attacks on the Draconis Combine (see FM Draconis Combine pg 98, 117, & 118) On June 4, 3052 only two weeks after Tukayyid the Jaguars unleashed Delta Galaxy in what appeared to be a scaled down 6th Wave of Operation Revival. Targeting Tanh Linh, Baruun Urt, and McAlister.

Participation in the Hellions Reckoning (Loremaster Lamar Kotare)
