Looking for a symbol
« on: January 10, 2019, 07:05:09 PM »

Hey folks, I've been brainstorming ideas for a symbol for this setting which would be based on Alternate Eras.

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/BattleTech_eras

The question is what would it be?

The Timber Wolf (Mad Cat) works very well for the Clan Invasion Era which you could argue this still is.

The Civil War era with the broken sword works ok but I am not overly fond of it.

Then there is the Jihad (3067) which we are sort of building to but in a different way with the Clans and the InnerSphere squaring off for supremacy rather than the Word of Blake.

So what symbol incorporates this setting or story best? Is it some type of Fox since I have Hanse surviving? The FedCom insignia vs the Clan Daggerstar?

The Sun and within it a Cameron Star (or what is your Daggerstar?).

That sounds feasible. A horizontal line with the lower half of a FS/FC sunburst below it and the upper half of a Cameron Star on it might work.

A daggerstar stabbing into the FC symbol perhaps shattering or piercing it

Way above my abilities I'm old school MS Paint ability

Or
A Dagger-Star replacing the sword in the Federated Suns logo

Interesting Ice, thanks for getting us started. I'd say 3 and 4 are the best so far.

I'd like to come up with black white (I want to say clipart but that might the wrong word) image such as these..

Oh come on Bradshaw, who knows what new tech is out there to make your creations even better! ;)

I knew how to do that but I didn't remember yesterday. I will have a look again as it is what I wanted to do from the start.
